Abstract painting is the most challenging to me. It is difficult because one has to invent something that is impossible not to look at. The narrator does a masterful job in describing the world and work of these artists.
I definitely agree abstract painting is very challenging-to absence of tangible/representational references and standards makes things harder, and not easier in my humble opinion. And thank you for your kind words on the curatorial text. I really enjoyed writing it!
@@contemporaryartissue GGGGGGGGGGGreat to hear from you. I am probably dead wrong, but Gerard Shroeder recently sold a squeegee painting for north of 41 million USD. Good for him, but I can't help but feeling if he has caused a wave of young artists to follow suit. Don't get me wrong, the poured acrylics, squeegee paintings, etc., can be breathtaking. But is it really a painting from an artist or from a technique that came out beauftifully? I think the minute one uses squeegees to move paint around abstractly or pours paint, it takes practice to make it into fantastic mixes, but really, a child or layperson could get the same result if they practiced. I am great to criticize, because I have only sold a handful of my own work, but I believe an artist who uses his skills through a paint brush, chisel or pencil is really doing art...
@@contemporaryartissue These are not abstract paintings, they all refer to the phenomena of painting, what you see has the appearance of painting, it could not be otherwise. The conception and consideration of abstraction is contextual and historical, there can be neither painting nor abstract work.
Hi Konstantinos, thank you for tuning in. Glad to hear you enjoy the show. And yes, Makino's work is so striking, subtle, delicate, yet very powerful. Have a great day!
Fabulous paintings. Makino and Barath especially appeal to me, but all four are great. It’s so heartening to see that work of this calibre and genre is supported - like bathing in a cool clear spring.
Hi Chris, thank you so much for your kind words. Barath and Makino are indeed terrific, and very much in demand. I am absolutely delighted to have the honor to represent them with CAI Gallery. Wishing you a great day!
I was very moved by Javaloyas paintings. I was diagnosed with giftedness and OCD too, so I can understand his work in a very deep manner. I am a poet btw
Subjectivity speaking, I think these are good, within a narrow genre or theme of abstractions. However personally I don't find them all that exciting or deep (so to say), with many paintings having room for more potential, esp Makino.... But a very good show indeed, thank you.
Hi Fran, thank you for tuning in and for your comment. I do find their work very moving with some interesting personal perspectives from every single artist. And, of course, they are even better in real life. Nevertheless, thank you and wishing you a great day!
Hi Laura, that's too bad-it has happened more than once to me as well to be honest so I completely understand the frustrating feeling 😅 Feel free to try again any day!
Hi Murphy, thank you for tuning in. Yes, generally speaking a triptych consists of three related canvases/panels forming one artwork. However, in this setting, they form a curatorial triptych by placing separate paintings together to create a symbiosis between them that can be experienced as a whole

Hi there, thank you for tuning in. Raoul De Keyser is an absolute gem of a painter. I was lucky enough to work on his archival show in the S.M.A.K. in Ghent, going through his entirely documented oeuvre of works on paper. It was a truly wonderful experience. Great suggestion, great painter.

#Art 🙌🖼🎨
Yes! 💪 🙌
my god, the script !!who wrote this ?? almost overshadows the art ! :-)
It does use the sensual and psycho-spiritual language of art well.
Hi there, thank you so much for your most kind words 🙏
Thank u -
The pleasure is all mine, thank you for tuning in!
The best....mega
They are!

Thank you so much for sharing, he's a terrific artist for sure. Thank you for tuning in!

Hi Cliff DaRiff, thank you for tuning in and for sharing your honest thoughts. I appreciate it! Wishing you a great day
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
🙏🙏🙏🖤
The artistic ideas are not new or moving, but I would like to say congrats for the literature exercise!
Hi Fran, thank you for tuning in and for your comment. I do find their work very moving with some interesting personal perspectives from every single artist. And, of course, they are even better in real life. Nevertheless, thank you and wishing you a great day!

🙌🙌🙌
I do this everyday.
I am so sad😢, my lengthy comment was accidentally erased. It made me mad because it took me awhile to write it… maybe tomorrow I will try again… 😂
Hi Laura, that's too bad-it has happened more than once to me as well to be honest so I completely understand the frustrating feeling 😅 Feel free to try again any day!
a painting never can have a foreground / background, think about it
I thought a triptych was suppose to be related? Or connected. These look… unrelated.

You should look closely at Raoul de Keyser...a painter for painter...he is dead now....very discreet...discovered lately...small format

the paintings are wonderful but please...spare us your babble.
It’s funny that the first painting is figurative. The curator is poorly educated.
Hi Andrew, there are no figurative works in this show. Enjoy!
Barath has a similar process to Callum Innes's watercolor works on paper.
Yes, I agree. So much to discover when it comes to color and color theory in arts, even today. Thank you for tuning in!
