  • Edit - looking back on this 3 years later, I wonder if he said the whole "what did you say to my waitress" to cover his a* for behaving like that, or if the waitress made something up and told him.
    I used to be a server at many places from Norms to high-end restaurants in South OC. I'd never disrespect a server and did not disrespect anyone here. Simply asked to speak to someone above her. I'll take accountability for not bringing my own water. But this was a sad say day, not that they care but obviously, they lost a few longtime customers and according to the comments, gained 100s more. God Bless.
    We thought Javier’s Catina & Grill in Newport Beach, CA was supposed to be classy. This is THE OWNER’s SON! He’s the manager at this location his name is Javier and he went on a profanity-laced attack on us & with vulgarity, nobody at a restaurant should ever hear. Our crime? Asked for water in a to-go container for our service dog & when waitress refused I was short with her & asked for the manager...

    That manager is one of the nicest guys on the planet! I go to javiers all the time. This customer is just trying to provoke him

    I can walk to Javier’s from my home. The staff puts up with so much nonsense from some customers. I’m with the manager on this one.

    Such a one sided video and no explanation on what was said to the waitress. Restaurant workers are people too and the only thing I gained from this video was that these customers probably said something horrible to make the manager go off like that. Good on the manager for sticking up for his employees and not dealing with entitled people's bs,

    Is this supposed to make me not want to go the Javier's? I'm proud of the manager for standing up for his staff, when the customers are being rude and disrespectful. Javier's restaurant I am a fan and customer for life!!!!

    This restaurant has the best mexican food and great service. That manager deserves a medal for protecting the servers.

    Javier's Cantina Newport Cove is easily one of the best restaurants on the planet and the staff and everyone who works there is absolutely and utterly top-notch and amazing every single time I've been in love with Javier's since I found it in the year 2000 and it's my favorite restaurant to this day. I don't have to see the face of whoever made this video I already know he's an a******

    Sorry you had to go through this. Ignore these people agreeing with the manager, these are the typical melodramatic people we find in every day society, seeking to find the entourage to fit in with. I feel your frustration and am sorry for this. He was clearly hot headed, and in any case did not handle that professionally. Hopefully he gets replaced or at least learns to speak to people even in an unsettling situation.

      All they had to do was leave no need to sit there and argue.     Maybe your very successful, but being so gives you no right to disrespect any employee at any restaurant.
    It’s because of hard working people that we are able to go eat out nowadays or have food at our homes from restaurants.
    Be grateful, thankful and appreciative of all those around you and you will enjoy life more!
    Plus were your nice to people they tend to want to be nice back.

    This is NOT Javier Sosa. Javier has been my friend for 40+ years, and is an exemplary individual. Who has created fabulous restaurants. Knowing very well how his establishments are managed and operated, I am without doubt that the customer's actions were so reprehensible, this staff member simply 'lost it'. I have NEVER witnessed anything remotely close to this scenario at any of javiers restaurants.

    the manager is at fault because he should not be talking to his customers like that whatsoever. And the customer is also at fault for not being responsible and bringing their own water for their service dog
