    If you use the technique that I teach in this tip video: 599CD(DOT)com/XJ4LWB then you can just check to see if the filename of the image is NULL and then set the control's visible property to FALSE.

    I want to thank you for showing for free how to use Microsoft Access 2013. Wow! what a difference it makes. I have a home small business and I was trying to find a better way to be efficient and have everybody through a query. This is fantastic. The way you show and teach is incredible. Thank you so much for given your time to so so.

    In database theory, you will see the terms "attribute" and "tuple" used to describe "columns" and "rows," however in Access (and in almost every Access book I've ever read - and I have dozens of them) the terms are generally referred to as "fields" and "records," which is what I prefer for my lessons. Microsoft Access ITSELF refers to them as "fields." Just open a table and go into Design View and you'll see "Field Name" to represent each "column."

    Hope you can answer a quick question for me. With the new Access, I want to make a form/app with a data base; basically I am inputting market data selling and buying amounts and then it will compare all and tell me the best profits and where to trade them. I want to use access over excel because I want a nice gui that asks for the info and a nice place to input it. This is for a computer game. Now my question is After I create this. Is there a way to save it or convert it so others (friends etc.) can use it without having access? I thought I had read somewhere that access creations can now basically work like an app. This is my first time using access in about 15 or so years so wasn't sure about how it's working now. Thanks.

      ronin51670 If you want to use all of the features of the Access desktop application, then you'll need to at least distribute your database with the Access Runtime: 599cd.com/XOJNSL - the alternative is to build an Access Web App which I don't recommend unless your database is REAL simple: 599cd.com/XAConWEB

I actually have a question : I am working on an access Database and send to the Database Manager the problem is that one of the cells of the database has multiple choices, and once we send it to the manager to put in the master Dataase, the multiple choices cells don't translate and appear into the masterdatabase once copied. Is there any SQL Code that i can use to insert the mini data in the master one ?
    Many Thanks!

      Sounds like you used a multi-valued field. Sorry, but those are a royal pain in the ass, and I tell everyone from my Beginner Level 1 class on up, DON'T USE THEM. They're evil. I even put them on my Evil Access Stuff list: 599cd.com/EvilAccessStuff

    hi im hoping you can help me. ive created 2 tables on my database on ms access. one is 'customer details' etc and one is 'completed' sales/deals. what i want to do is keep all records of customers for cars in the main big 'customer details' table and any completed deals from that table automatically added to the 'completed' table. i want to have a button or option like completed on the end of the table maybe like a yes or no column. by which i could click and it would automatically add the relevant fields i want to the completed table. i would like to know how i can go about that.

    How do I type in the "field" cells? In your tutorial "LastName, FirstNamae" , etc. is in the same row as "ID", but when I follow you to the letter, I can''t type text in the Field cells.

    Hi Rick, I'm creating a plants database to keep track of all new and old plants that we're gonna have in our new project, a green house. I need to have a query/form that will contain a photo of each plant/flower and a web link that once click will open a web browser where more informations are available. I need to know how to add photo that will show up in form view of the plant's name?

    Hi Rick, awesome overview. I am new to Access and found a Database Template already available for "Task List". I am using a Description Column which has varying content length. I am struggling to find a way to adjust Row width individually to fit the content. Every time I change one row width, it changes all of them. Any help or direction to a video on this would be greatly appreicated =)

    • @599CD
      @599CD  3 года назад

      Rows have HEIGHT. Columns have WIDTH. When you change a row's HEIGHT for one row, Access changes them all. This ain't Excel. :)

      You can display this in a REPORT if you want variable row heights though. 599cd.com/CanGrow

    Just curious- why do you like to end your table names with "T"?

    • @599CD
      @599CD  9 лет назад +2

      Heather Catizone Sometimes you'll have a list of data sources to pick from, and the list will include tables and queries. It's nice to see which are which. Some developers use tblCustomer and qryCustomer, I prefer CustomerT and CustomerQ. Just personal preference. I explain this in my Access Beginner Level 1 course, which is also free here on RUclips.

    Hello Rick! So Microsoft Acces 2013 is a tool to create databases, isn't it? Other databases can be Filemaker and SAP? Thank you! :D
