Beautiful! It's like Mahler"s symphony. Every small piece is not friendly and looks, well, sounds odd. but it's so exceptionally beautiful when you put everything together.

I had a second hand Z4 Bangle, really impressive. I love it.
I always like how Thomas wears apparels that matches with the car he is describing and it makes us feel like the car itself is made for him.

Hands down, not open discussion or debate. This is the best looking BMW Z roadster ever. It's beautiful.. To really clarify my feelings about the car, I don't and never have liked the BMW Z car. Not even close but this thing I would buy in a heartbeat. Good job BMW!!!!

'ice cream parlour function!' - classy Thomas presentation and commentary. 39:19 agree, HUD on any car is a bonus (even most of the basic ones with a plastic sheet); and also good for Adaptive Cruise Control use, including pre-setting the speed and distance. I have a 2007 Z4 M roadster and absolutely love it. It is a true driving car. I do understand the newest model being better with respect to comfort.

This car is absolutely stunning, needs a manual and an increased redline and then you have a full on drivers car!
I miss driving the Autobahn and roads in Germany. I often drove from Munich to Amsterdam, in a Nissan 240Z. I now live in Costa Rica and Florida, I am considering buying the 2020 BMW Z4 M40i for Florida driving! Thanks for your excellent review!

Nice review not much room between dash and windscreen height wise. I came to see this review for the Toyota Supra 2019 interior and engine components.

Great video, makes me want to get another roadster. The hand mic audio almost gave me ASMR, which is good. BTW, the pops and crackles from the exhaust are not from that valve, it is un-burnt fuel from a lean condition (off throttle) which burns the excess fuel in the hot exhaust. That muffler valve just opens in Sport mode, etc. Love your country!

I've only owned Japanese cars (currently a 2018 Accord). I feel like this is the first BMW I'd want to have - exterior looks extremely sharp, and interior quality looks impeccable. The interior of my new Accord looks super cheap up close.

Thanks for the great review. I love your reviews coz you alway take the time to share and not rushed like other channels. I'm a E85 M roadster owner and happy that BMW chose to continue this model line. Though at the same time, I'm a bit disappointed with the design. The Z3, 1st gen Z4 and Z8 were unique avantgarde designs. I see the current Mercedes C series and I think Bangle's flame surfacing and it took them 10 years. But now, the Z4 is too mainstream. Its a good design but it could have been something else.

Love Thomas's nonchalant cool style, calming and clear info. Great work. This Z4 looks good but maybe one too many lines on the hood and the side. Sounds great which is a plus although the Boxster and the F Type are winners in the looks department.
Yep I agree Thomas, that body line on the side along with the clam shell gap being angled down already makes it look dated...it is a nice update to the z4 but the 718 boxster is a much better buy from a performance and aesthetic standpoint...hoping the Supra fares better or at least gets a manual to alleviate any concerns..

I think its a step in the right direction, love the engine, interior, handling and the body style Would like to see it in the copper color or black with five spoke two piece wheels. But overall its a nice piece of work for bmw. I own a black 2007 3,0 is roadster..

Never really been a fan of BMW cars, generally gone Porsche and Mercedes,had several of their motorbikes but have to say this car looks a beauty really love the look of it, if it drives anywhere as near as it looks wow its going to sell well.

Love the overall review and the car, but can autogefuhl add more exterior shots of the car while it's driving? In a 40 minute review, there's only a small amount of those.
It really looks good what are people talking about it.. it really is good looking maybe not for the rear but it's that corvette look in the front and performance is brilliant!! No need for an M unless you want a machine to kill you.

Ohh common what do you mean it doesn't look special its very unique looks nothing like any BMW in the lineups and people always complained BMW solved it. I wish BMW listened to the people who buy them not the people who don't buy BMWs.. the reason why BMWs don't show character from the BMWs from before is do to "customers" that don't buy them complaining to the brand.
The Truth do I think it’s ugly? No. It’s not an ugly car. But it’s not special looking “to me”. And it doesn’t look like a bmw, either. I think the Audi TT and the Boxter look better

Maybe the color doesn't excite you but everyone can agree it's unique and different compared to the BMW lineup.
The Truth I love the color. I’m talking about the “design”. And I don’t think I’m in the minority. I’m sure I will drive well, and it’s undoubtably great fit and finish. But as for as exterior wow factor? Doesn’t “wow” doesn’t even look like a BMW
Sounds really nice actually! Reminds me a lot of a bit older or lower revving torquey v12-engines. I guess BMW followed that path that Audi did with TT-RS and it's v10-sound :)

Nice looking car.The front is ok , but I think the rear looks better.Good interior ,pretty good performance from the engine.
A bit expensive if you spec it out , so I think I'd rather get the Porsche 718 Boxster at the same price.Still good evolution of the Z-Series . Terrific review Thomas !

The 718 Boxster only has a downsized 4 cylinder engine and the S version costs nearly 70K. There aren't many cars around with an engine like the M40i's for under 70K
