- Krell music has a long history. Let's delve into it!
This is just one possible way to do Krell music with Strega. How would you do it?

Awesomeness Walker!! Taking it to Altair IV and way beyond! Creatures abound! Love it💥🚀✨👽
Thank you Todd! Honored :D
At the day job, I used to leave a Krell-patched 0-Coast on my desk for 5-6 hours, just to see the effect it would have on coworkers. It was quite the conversation starter, as the machine behaves like a living, breathing entity. Most were convinced it would take over our computer systems by the end of the work day.
I love this!!!
Great story!!
That's wonderful! Love this.
Wow! May I ask you what are you working with that you can leave a Krell patch on your desk ;)) ?
@@alanegedy5649 I used to work for a musical instrument retailer, and had a pair of old discontinued studio monitors and a small mixer at my desk.
I loved this deep dive!
Love this a lot. The 0-Coast Krell patch is a favourite of mine ever since I got the synth. Well, Strega is on the list to buy next......thanks for the walk-through!
Otherworldly wonderful. Thank you for sharing, Make Noise!
Thanks for watching!
Brilliant ! Love the survey of the whole Krell patch landscape. Thanks. 👍
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching :)
Todd barton is such a babe. Talk to me about principle oscillators. You know I want more motion in my timbre.
Omg love the shoutout to Always Coming Home
Todd’s Kesh reel is a mainstay and huge source of inspiration for me
It's a great one!
So fn awesome. Damn! 👽🎛🧙🏼✨
This should be called Makrell patch. After all, Strega is a machine which was left under water for many years until fished out again.
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
:D
I've messed about with my 0-Coast and MS-20 using the patch that came with the 0-Coast manual, with a couple of tweaks. With the Korg's hertz to volt pitch tracking, it makes it even more unpredictable! Such great, mad fun, even without a Strega!
My favorite Krell-style patch is to use a Turing Machine/Marbles as random source; you can (partially) lock the pattern, adding a certain repeatability which creates 'almost normal' rhythms (almost 'human' music..) but which still slowly evolves in the weirdest ways. Highly recommended!
Cool noises as always Walker!
Superb!
Glad you liked it!
Strega Nona! Got one on the way. Amazing work guys! 👏
Awesome! Thank you!
I do krell and I love this!
That was ace. Nice video.
Thank you!
Let's raise our glass to remember all the highly advanced civilizations we've lost since the 1950's. I'm wondering if any music from Alderaan was saved before the Death Star blew it away. For this particular Krell patch it's evident the ID monster still rules when it comes down to making your wildest nightmares come true.
It’s gonna be psycho-patcho-freakadelic summer yo 🌟⚡️🤘🏾🤖🤘🏾⚡️🌟
Monsters from the Id!
I'm a simple guy with simple needs, I see a make noise video, I like it.
We appreciate it!
Just (pre)ordered a Strega today - I've been looking to push a Eurorack setup toward early electronic music/Forbidden Planet/radiophonic sounds... kind of feeling like a Strega and a Ciat-Lonbarde Sidrax could get there and save the price of a decent used Honda.
I love this. So beautiful. I am the proud new owner of the trio Strega/0-coast/0-ctrl and I’m slowly finding my way around these wonderful instruments. Given this particular patch, how would one then go about patching to incorporate the 0-ctrl to say add a more rhythmic or polyrhythmic component? Essentially I am trying to figure out the best signal path solution to use all 3 together.
My gut thinks that I should be sequencing 0-coast with 0-ctrl then further modulating and enhancing this combination with Strega. But even doing that has me a bit confused as to how exactly I would patch it, fundamentally.
Wow. I tracked down that tape 10 years or so ago while reading Always Coming Home. Will have to relisten with this new info.
Enjoy! It's a unique experience :)
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC that first track slaps! Glad I never tried to digitize the tape. This reissue sounds sooo good.
Thanks walker
Thanks for watching!
Cool
Thanks!
This was literally the first thing I did when I got my Strega haha
I need another job to pay my synth expenses........Awesome!
My wife is modular, and she makes Krell for dinner sometimes 🎼
One day I'll get myself a Make Noise Shared System. Until then, I'll have to make my Krells with Reaktor Blocks...
My variation on the krell is using the Moog 251 to connect an expression pedal to play the patch.
Nice!
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC , Strega on the way. Just found one. Alchemy on the way.
I know what I’m doing this afternoon!
Happy patching!
I might have just enough extra room on my desk....
huge
mission accomplished :P
I Krell. I Krell like hell.
Just got my Strega but should there be a manual in the box as I didn’t get one ?
Strega doesn't include a printed manual but you can find a pdf on the make noise website! Have fun! ⚡️ ⚡️
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Ok, thanks for confirming. To be honest I use RUclips tutorials and find my way around by ear but excited about the possibilities. I do think however that it needs something to sequence it like the 0 control but they seem all out of stock in the Uk. I do have a Soma Pulsar 23 but can’t work out how to get them connected as I am not that familiar with cv. I am also enjoying sampling the the Strega and processing it in granular software. Great unit !
Why can't we do this via 100% software? We have modular synths (like phase plant) that are not just VCVrack.
Awesome. I gotta be honest though, I find the simple 0-coast patch to be the most musical / unique. It’s like the more cables and patching, the more noise. I do appreciate the Strega’s delay though, right at the beginning. I guess this is me saying that I really like how awesome my 0-coast is on its own 🎉
#krellsohard
But can it woggle?
CV2 has some woggle energy sometimes :)
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Oh? is there a PLL on CV2?
@@robertsyrett1992 I don't think so, but depending on conditions it can have a similar character/shape to a Woggle CV.
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Ahh understood. Thanks for clarifying. :)
What the Krell????
Krell should be to modular what stairway to heaven is to guitar shops... Don't do it! There's something terribly kitsch about it. I'll await the fallout.
No Krell?! Denied!!
So, strega dont krell. Ok.
The 0 coast version is easily the best, it sounds alive and alien, when the strega comes in it sounds like someone playing on a synth.
M N are trying to promote the strega by linking it to the Krell patch and encouraging people to buy the Strega ,, 0 control, as well, as the 0 coast.
Cool it sounds awful!
