SeaWorld Orlando Pipeline The Surf Coaster ROLLS BACK!
HTML-код

- Occasionally a launched roller coaster will not clear the top of a hill...this is know as a rollback and SeaWorld Orlando's new coaster was testing this. Rollback testing is a normal procedure for launched coasters and nothing was in danger of having an issue. We personally hope to get a rollback while the ride is in operation (which will happen), do you want to get one of these elusive rides?

I still cannot get over how cool those trains look. It’s weird seeing 2-wide cars on a B&M, but they made these look so good!
Check out the trains on Steel Dragon 2000!
@@jessecaldwell9781 that’s another weird one, too! Seeing those clamshell restraints on 2-wide cars is another bizarre sight!
I agree it looks good. And should halve the amount of staff it takes to check restraints.
Radiohead ❤
@@86RSJag Darn right! One of my favorite bands of all time!
To those trying to figure out if this is intentional or a mistake - They do all types of scenarios to program and automate the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) that control all of the elements and electronics used on all parts of the ride system. This is also something most states want to see so they can certify the ride for safe operations no matter what takes place.
I was thinking it was intentional…I never really knew why they did this and it makes sense
100%
probably planned rollbacks to test the anti rollback braking
and maybe also to warm up the wheels ig
That's literally what the description says it is. LOL
For those of you guys confused that is not the real speed of the ride it has been testing fine for a couple days. They are testing to see if the roll back brakes work in case of emergency
100%
Were these intentional to test the safety equipment? It doesn't seem like that was a full-powered launch
This testing is intentional for all launch coasters.
Indeed
Always fascinating to watch rollbacks! Would love to see how pipeline resets and relaunches!
Ok I don’t mind the roll back as part of the ride…🥰🥰
Remember folks, rollback testing is necessary because its a system built into all launch coasters. That's why intamin makes inclined launches on coasters like Taron and Velocicoaster - so that when rollback happen, the train will roll to the pre-launch point, allowing the ride to relaunch with the full length of track.
With that in mind, these are absolutely intentional rollbacks, and I imagine this is done more to test the "wave" launch and the ability of the system to draw the coasters back to its original position over that wave in the event of a rollback. Just a guess, though.
Indeed.
The sound the train makes at 0:29 👌🏾😫
I was thinking the same thing .. I was thats a weird sound isnt tgis a new coaster...
@Kelvin Garcia it's the launch l. The electro current that's pushing the train. It sounds cool af!
I'm so pumped i can't wait my first stand up it coaster ever. And looks incredible
Are the water dummies on strike........? .......I heard they wanted cleaner water and was not working until that is resolved.....
They're using weights that are mounted to the surf board.
I’m so hyped for this thing to open
Wow! It's back already!
Hey we met in the line of the icebreaker in the front I’m the kid that was scared
Was nice to meet you and your Dad! Glad you rode Ice Breaker, proud of ya!
@@MidwayMayhemChannel do you know when this roller coaster will open?
Hey Dan it was great meeting you today, thank you for talking to me about the ride! 😁
Pleasure meeting you as well! Thanks for hanging out with me while testing was going on!
LSM sound omg
So basically this was intentional, they were testing that IF there was rollback, the boosters could properly slow it down (to my knowledge of course)
I’ve always wondered if the upcoming B&M launch coasters will affect the company’s reliable track record. These coasters could possibly have launch issues all the time and it will be interesting.
I didn't see any issues with HULK and that's been running since 1999, also launching uphill! The question now though is will these newer LIM systems will be able to launch a typical 4-wide train, because those things are damn heavy!
No major issues with Thunderbird at Holiday World that I know of either.
@@PixPete B&M didn't build Hulk's launch, and it's incredibly overbuilt, which is why it's so reliable. New coasters use LSMs, not LIMs, and they work fine. Thunderbird's trains are pretty heavy even being five row and there's no issues.
I think these might be purposeful rollbacks to test the lsms ability to stop a train if it fails to make it over during regular operation
@@inthelaunch9319 they are calibrating things at this point. They know what it takes for a successful launch, now it's about rollback/block zone safety. I'm predicting a May opening.
i rode this ride yesterday and at the end of that little launch bunny hill, it braked us, and we rolled back into that valley. the cause was unknown right now but i believe it had something to do with the other train since it failed to go into the station aka failed to clear that block section.
You know they have to purposefully test all of these cases right? Even the exceptional ones like a rollback.
Explains why one of the trains didn't go half way up
I'm pretty sure Midway Mayhem knows that 😄
He’s been doing these kinds of updates since Mako was being built. He knows very well.
Yup, video description points this out!
Might want to read the description before you comment.🤣
It’s so funny listening to the general public react. Like. Omg it’s broken omg roll back. Do people not clearly understand that they DO THIS TO TEST THE BRAKES IN CASE OF AN ACTUAL ROLL BACK. Lol. Like this is done on every coaster LOL
They’re testing the rollback braking system. It was intentional.
Obviously
100%
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
They actually do this to test on purpose so that if the train acsadentaly rolls back they know that the breaks will kick in
Wow!!! 🤯
Tell me you clickbait without telling me. *adds clickbait title to typical coaster testing*
Didn't know telling viewers exactly what happens in a video would be "clickbait" 🙄
@@MidwayMayhemChannel I never said it was a bad thing, nor was this meant to be snide sorry if that's how you took it, it gets view but as someone who assumed it meant the train rolled back mid coarse it does come across as clickbateesk
That’s cool!
It did that when I was there too on the 14th
It’s gonna be interesting if they made the restraints more comfortable for guys. That’s one of the reasons I’m not sure this type of coast was a good idea but I’m withholding judgement til it opens
The newest stand-up coaster... since the
❤️🔥Georgia sculpture❤️🔥
Awesome rollback!!!!
I guess you could say a rollback on this is a wipeout
This is testing and programming. Not a roll back.
"Rollback!"
This on purpose?
Indeed!
always wanted to see this coaster rollback
Does anyone know when this is going to open?
This is pretty usual.
