I love how Stark always talks to children like they’re his equal yet he talks to adults in more of a condescending manner.
As we grow older, our capacity to learn diminishes. But Tony, he's always learning, improving, evolving. The ability to improve is how Stark gauges his respect towards people. His relationship with Banner stemmed from seeing the clash between the scientist and the brute, and wanting to balance the sides out. His friendship with Rogers stemmed after he saw the more human side of him, struggling to live in the modern world. When he saw the perfect boy scout his father told him about, he was just as condescending as you imply. His relationship with Nat, it's a bit weaker than the others but he sees her drive to get the red out of her ledger. He grew closer to Thor during Age of Ultron when he saw that he was going to try and explore the universe to learn about the stones. And most of all Peter; he sees alot of himself in Spider Man and wants to see him improve and learn to be better than how Tony saw himself. Your comment made me think a lot about Tony's relationships, thank you for sparking this analysis.

The entire Thanos arc is a story about Iron Man's Mortality.
The entire franchise led up to Stark's dream being fulfilled. He created a legacy built on hope and good, instead of a legacy built by blood. The blood of all the people he couldn't save.
He couldn't save everyone. But he couldn't save himself, either. He died at the same time everyone else had. He died so many times, and only got to live once; He got his chance to live when he was offered the opportunity to die. His legacy is not that of the people he saved, or the reason he saved them. His legacy is that of his resolve. He died doing what he believed in, to the picture. Stark's wife was there when he got himself killed... in fact... it's better this way. He fought everything he hated to save everything he loved.

There was ever a doubt in my mind that Tony Starks wasnt the greatest superhero out there. But the thing is he wasnt a superhero. He was just a man doing what he thought needed to be done for the many many people out there. People call him heartless and cruel but in reality Tony Starks was a deep felt man who had problems showing deep emotion because that was just him. He had a hard time showing emotions so he showed them through sarcasm and wit. He was only Ironman because his heart told him to be Ironman. Did he have to become an Avenger and save the world, sacrifice his life so that the rest of the world could live in peace? Hell no he didnt but he did. He did because he cared. He cared more than he would ever tell anyone. He constantly pushed everyone to be better because he knew he wasnt perfect so he wanted to protect the others from making his mistakes. With that said. I stand behind Ironman in anything. He made the world what it is through his heart and his kindness.

Everyone who thinks Tony is just a cocky,stubborn,and arrogant person hasn’t really looked between the lines. New York changed him up to Infinity War. The panic attacks in IM3,building Ultron should Earth ever be attacked again,signing the accords because of his guilt of messing up too many times,and now,when Thanos comes,he realized the threat was real,he knew,he tried to prepare the best he could,but what he feared for so long still came to pass,and he was powerless to stop it. He was so used to being at the top of the world. Something came,something happened that made him realize how small he is in the universe and it horrified him

I feel like all of iron mans successes end in failure. Literally look at everything he's done. He creates weapons to help the country, the weapons he created are being sold to their enemies. He shuts that down, creates a suit, the suit is used against him, THEN later, the government doesn't like that one person is doing that, so, they tell him to give it up, he doesn't. Then LOSES one of his suits. He then gets Pepper at the end of that and keeps his best friend. Then, he's forced to give himself up to save New York, which he does and lives, but, pepper leaves him, shortly after the events of Iron Man 3. Iron Man then lets a bunch of people die because he tried to make something to help protect the people. Although he creates the Vision afterward. THEN in Civil War, he loses his friend trying to help all his friends but he gains this child that he can look after. And he does! Only to lose that same person after trying to defend him and everyone else. And is stuck living with that on his mind. Feelsbadman.

I’m late to the game here, but the world hasn’t been right since Tony died.
Thanos trying to legitimately kill Tony demonstrates how much of a threat he knows Tony can be.
He laid the smackdown on Hulk, and yet, he shows so much restraint against the other Avengers. He could have crushed Spider Man or finished Thor after getting the Tesseract, but he leaves their fates up to the Gauntlet.
Because he knows Tony will never stop pursuing him.

I feel like Thanos actually wants to be punished for what he did. He reached his goal, and now he just waits for his punishment. Tony is the only one capable of finding the way, yet he has to fight his depression and reach the earth from a fucking Titan. It will once again be Avengers Assemble, but this time Tony will be the heart and the soul of it.

Dang man, you really forget how powerful some of these lines and interactions are when you get lost in the ocean of quips. Tony wasn't afraid of dying, he was afraid of not being able to save his friends and loved ones then having to live with that. Such an interesting character.

Funny how stories can impact us. Words put together in a special sequence paired with faces on a screen can touch us so deep. Yeah it's just a story, but those people made it feel real to us.

I had to think about this one and my god it's so true. He was alone when he went through the worm hole, he was blamed solely for Ultron, he was alone when fighting cap and Bucky and he was alone (he had Nebula but she was a stranger) when everyone crumbled around him on titan. If anything this makes his talk about a baby to Pepper even more profound; he wants people around him he cares about because he doesn't want to be alone.

HE WAS a selfish and self-absorbed asshole who didn't care. He evolved as he gained experience.
Although geniuses can be selfish and seemingly arrogant, they know a lot, they can see what lies most dear to them, they make the most sacrifices, they are typically lonely with the lack of friends, but sometimes they change the world. It takes a jerk to fix what is actually broken as they know being nice would not get anywhere. And yes they have a large ego that can get above their heads, but they use that to make themselves feel better, as their only friends will not be able to support that part of them.

See this after endgame is a whole new perspective. It works perfectly for both movies (infinity way and endgame) and has so much emotinal value. The line "I hope they remember you" was so well thought out by the Russo's. They knew exactly what they were doing when they had Thanos say that. This edit is one of my favorites by far for multiple reasons. One main ones is that its still relevant and still pulls on your heart the same, if not more than it did after endgame. And yes, we will remember you Tony. We all love you 3000 ♥️

@@MrCocoMocoLoco2 That doesn't change Cap forgets Tony's achievements in that scene to be angry about their problem. Tony DID save New York by taking the nuke through the rift in the sky. He almost died from it. This is why he's got PTSD.
The sacrifice play was right there. Tony is as much a hero as any of the other Avengers. And Cap was being unfair as shit when he said that. Cap didn't even eat his words in Endgame after everything happens.
Both of them proved wrong, tony made the sacrifice play and cap's powers didnt came out from a bottle (the part where he lifts thors hammer)
yewozu the only reason why steve got the super soldier serum was because of his bravery and willingness to sacrifice himself. y'all saw that when he jumped on the practice grenade to save the others.
The fact that he left Pepper and Morgan to make the universe a better place was the biggest sacrifice of all.

you really gotta feel bad for tony. he's been preparing to fight an enemy he can't comprehend for 6 years, or maybe it's better to say he's been haunted by the idea. he's gone through panic attacks, anxiety, stress, and breakdowns trying to save everyone from a future only he saw. then he finally meets his fated enemy. he has his most advanced suit ever, he has magic and space flash gordon. yet, in the end just like he saw in his vision it was all for nothing. thanos puts it best, years of planning and preparing and "all that for a drop of blood". it has to be devastating to find out everything he's been afraid of has come true. to have the people he wants to protect die in his arms and yet he couldn't even offer a single word of comfort.
It is really sad... to try so hard just to fail. Tony had the best character progression/story line I hope he can fix it all the next adventures and correct it and save everybody I hope he gets thenkilling blow

We were told we had to look into those decisions for character design. Tony can’t move forward, he cant create anything because he feels like he destroyed everything
Ive always felt that Tony more than anyone is more of the "main" character in avengers, if there even is such a thing.
Him seeing visions of everyone dying then watching it come to life may just be what needs to happen to bring everyone back in the next avengers.

It’d be great to see the man that got his respect also kill him. Strange gave the stone to thanos for a reason: Its because stark is the key to defeating thanos. If he died in infinity war, the avengers wouldn’t win in A4. After all, he is the one that started it all, so shouldnt he end it too?
Pepper and Tony having a child will never happen, because that would remove his bad luck aspect of the character. Everything that stark does always end up in failure. Selling weapons to the government? Sike, they are getting sold to terrorists too. Create a robot with the intention of protecting humanity? He throws a city down from the sky.
