Their ability to sound live exactly the same as studio version is just mindblowing!

This song is my fav Nickelback song. Hands down
I know they don't want too many ballads in their list, so not sure why they just don't trade this song and "Far Away" ever so often.

I was not a fan. I heard this song on the radio and I thought it had awesome lyrics so it might worth checking out. After listening to the live version I also thought at first this could not be his real voice, I mean c'mon! But after a little bit of searching and listening to several live performances I am now convinced that this is indeed his voice. I know it's crazy. Talent like this is very rare. They are one of the most underrated bands out there. They deserve more recognition. I am now a 100% Nickelback fan. Thank you for the wonderful music Nickelback! More power to your band!

I'm just gonna say that for all the people that think they aren't singing this life it's sorta obvious it's live. For starters when Chad's singing you can here the echo through out the arena, two Daniel and Ryan are singing the upper octives, and three this is why Nickelback is unique. Not only do they write good songs they perform them very well live. And I'm defintally sure that it's live when they are in an arena.
Too many people hate on Nickelback. They're sick, great live.

It’s easy to slow down a recording. Takes about 1 minute. This is unfortunately lip syncd
@@Greg4fun it’s not necessarily hard to play slow live but the reason a lot of songs are played faster live than on the studio version is because the artists tend to get excited

instead of saying "From this moment on...." he says directly "This moment on...."

@@erwinmiradi He is. It's not the original track cause it's faster than the official recording. And I've heard enough of their videos from live performances to know they sound incredible tight live and very close to recordings. I guess you can be a cup half empty person and ill be a cup half full.

@David Gauthier It isn’t the original version. On some parts it’s way different from the studio version so I know it’s not,
It’s obviously not live. Any decent guitarist will tell you the hand movements are out. The vocals are identical to the recording. They probably got made to do it once by the label.

The sad part about music today is if a singer is good live, everyone automatically assumes its playback. I've seen nickelback live multiple times and you can tell that chad does not lip sync

@me455 Thisis not playback!!! This is recorded live!! Just as all my videos - check the out. I have a camera that does excellent on the audio quality. I guess I'll take your coment as a compliment that it sounds as good as a CD. Nickelback is excellent live!!! This is the 5th time I've seen them and definately not the last.

The only difference, from the Studio version, I could find is tha part at 3:37: "time is going BY" This "by" has been sung in a different intonation. On the other hand, it could be just the Doppler efect, due to the distance of the camera from chad's voice (wherever it has sounded)
@stacy0407 I highly recomend my camera. It is a Panasonic DMC-ZS1. It has excellent audio and has 12x optical zoom, all in a small camera.
Hahaha I think it's ridiculous that so many people on here claim to be Nickelback fans and are saying how amazing they are live yet say these are pre recorded vocals... If you are the fans that you say you are you would know that this even though is very similar to the album vocal track is still live. There are very minor differences in this performance that show us it's live. The man has one of the best voices in the industry. Fact. Incredible live band.

What's playback
Guys, it's playback. It's kinda obvious, the song starts out in darkness so Chad can know when to start "singing" and sync perfectly, then the lights come on.
@jwul28 I understand what you are saying, but if you think about they practice all their songs just incase something like this was to happen and when you see Nickelback in concert they just blow your mind away. I've been to two of their concerts both Darkhorse Tour first one 09 and second on 10. I personally love this song and they did a good job performing it.

either it is lip syncing or they've just finished the greatest live performance live by a band... i saw them in basel a year ago, and i'm sure it wasn't playback cause you could clearly tell they were playing live, but here... chad hits all the right notes perfectly, and the sound is clear and amazing... I sincerely couldn't tell if this is live or lip s-ing

@specialness16 YES chad can definitely sing. although often they are tuned down a half step or full step. which is totally fine with me. these are great musicians and sometimes when you are on the road you need a little break. he's hitting some really high notes and the grain he uses when he sings is not good for the voice. the roughness can actually hurt the vocal chords.

big nickelback fan here. the only thing that i'm doubtful about is the fact that i hear acoustic guitar in the intro and break. from the looks of the video, they are both playing electric, les pauls or something. so either they are playing to a backing track that has some guitar and backing vocals, or they have someone backstage playing acoustic. to play devils advocate, yes you can run an electric through an emulator to get an acoustic tone, but it sounds SO CLOSE to the record? your thoughts?

I love Nickelback..... Bur Chad's singing IS playback, I'm pretty sure. Everything is sung EXACTLY the same as the studio version, and no matter how good you are, holding the same notes down to the millisecond isnt possible.
