Hello steven, the whole issue of inside/outside frames makes this a winner, I love it. These were of course shunters by nature rarely venturing out onto the main lines so having a converter wagon or coach is perfectly ok in terms of appearance. The Hornby Dublo locos of that era do run superbly so no surprise there. Yup, she's a winner.
@trainsontuesday Hi David, I have to say it was hard to scroll past. It came out of nowhere on Marketplace. I have bought other locos previously from the owner, so I knew it would be in good condition. The paintwork is excellent, and the motor looks like it is brand new. And of course the offset running gear seals the deal. Steven.
Hi Steven, Your Hornby 08 runs very well considering its age, its much quieter than I thought. The Southern Coaches look much better close coupled and look in great condition. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
@paulvozman842 Hi Paul, it is in near new condition and purrs along. It is not fast by any means, but can haul a hefty rake. I really like the way those coaches couple together, quite realistic. I am thinking of converting a few of my rakes using the NEM knuckle couplers. They are almost as close as those couplers on some of my German coaches. Steven.
