The circuit board warping is common to these sets. Found a few places to fix, then shoved a dense piece of foam under the middle to keep it from sagging upon reassembly. I've now owned three of them, just to keep the original one gifted-to-me "alive." Aside from the warping, the solid-state boards that plug in to the main board went into small plastic forms which would separate at one end and keep the vertically-positioned boards from making contact. I keep one on display with a ROKU/modulator. fun to watch old shows on it! You should ENJOY this little gem!
i wonder if when someone refitted the back in the past, they didnt get the board in the slots but it rode up above it, i've had that issue with an odd few portable sets myself,

That is a really nice set! Being an antique myself, even watching those huge 55" flat panel TV's for the last 15 years or so, just looking at your set there, was so "natural". I bet w/a good cleaning and running on a slightly lower voltage, the set would run another 15 years easily.
That old TV set held up a lot better for the past 54 years than me, or those Crepe Erase ladies for that matter. That was likely one of the first models that used that newfangled post-1969 RCA block lettering logo.
