    The Phrygian Dominant (5th mode of Harmonic minor scale) is my favorite. And raising the 7th of that mode (Byzantine scale) makes it even more mystical imho.

    No formal musical expertise but this is indeed other-worldly that western music is not used to because it is (partly) an Ethiopic scale. Called "Bati minor (ባቲ ማይነር)" if I am not mistaken.

    Using echo really makes that scale sound unique.
