Francis Ngannou is an absolute legend. This is NOT an embarrassment for boxing, but rather a testament to the absolute LEGEND that is Francis Ngannou. As a casual fan of both boxing and mma, and as someone who loves both Ngannous and Fury, I will be the first to admit I did NOT expect Francis to outbox Tyson Fury. I thought he might win with a hard, heavy punch that was perfectly timed... but his use of the jab, his control of the pace, his ability to frustrate and parry Tyson's jab, and his confidently stuffing all of Tyson's power shots made be a believer in Ngannou as a boxer! Let us never forget boxing was his first love, even if he never fought professionally. As a fan of both boxing and mma, I really hope that we see some boxers start to learn some fundamentals of grappling and enter the octogon as well. Unlike many others, I don't think Fury or Wilder would make terrible MMA fighters IF they had the right training and time to prepare. Let's get more of the crossover matches in both directions! I think this would be great for combat sports all around. But yes. I 100% agree about the annoying spectacle that is the lead-up to a boxing match. Nobody cares about the musical sideshows or the walkout. Not only is it unnecessary, but as you correctly assert, it often detracts from all the undercards, and further stifles their careers since they are criminally underpromoted in so many cases.
@@LilSaske27I think so too honestly but it depends on his chin wilder has absolutely no self preservation he’s gonna just throw shit until it lands so it’s depend
Fury proved that when he goes up against someone similar in size to him that he won't be nearly as effective. Francis just went against the lineal heavyweight champ, one of the best heavyweights ever, and made him look like a fool.
Exactly like Jon Jones and Izzy, not taking anything away from them they are legends of modern MMA- But when they faced someone their own height/weight/reach they were significantly diminished
Read this and let me know if this is accurate I agree that this was close and Fury stock went down and Francis proved everyone wrong but the decision is not a robbery
@@terrellewilliams2188 I don’t think robbery I know it was close but if knockdowns don’t mean that much in Boxing is shows the flaws in their scoring system’s. The fact that Francis also landed shots at a higher percentage in both power and normal punches should matter more. Obviously in certain places stats aren’t disclosed. But 96-93 is crazy. Fury’s jab was crazy good but none of them were necessarily stunning Francis. They were range finders and pushers.
@@lunarmizt388 As a fan of both sports I unfortunately can say that fury won by two rounds maybe three simply due to the fact that boxing’s scoring system is shit. knockdowns in boxing give you a 10-8 round win instead of a 10-9 round win so it just gives one extra round win effectively and doesn’t dictate the scoring of the fight at the end other than that. Fury won like 6 rounds by just jabbing and doing nothing but absorbing big hits. In boxing a guy can get beaten badly for 5 straight rounds and just run around the ring and jab for seven rounds and will be given the win.
@@Kanawanulol trying to flip the script, Tyson fury fans were embarrassed. Francis has boxing as his MMA foundation and he was trained by a boxing legend in Mike Tyson.
While Ngannou humbled Fury that comment is just stupid. Being a UFC fighter and being Ngannou are two VERY different things. Ngannou sent most MMA fighters to the shadow realm in the first round.
Also, I’d just like to put this out there: Ngannou absorbed Tyson’s training so quickly. I’m actually kind of scared for people he fights in the future because he will only get better, he looks a good 10 years younger than Fury, and he has life-changing power. If he develops even better cardio and improves his technique more, he might steamroll everyone he fights before a belt.
Could be beginner gains lol. That said, I think if Ngannou's cardio can hold up then he could be a threat in boxing. It doesn't really matter if his power declines a bit because even at like 50% power it's still enough to knock out any human. That blow he hit Fury with wasn't full power and it was enough to make Fury shit himself I think and remain a bit timid the remainder of the fight. I just read the rest of your comment and realize I essentially retyped what you said but yeah, hopefully Mike continues working with Ngannou.
@@aquatazeryeah I knew the cardio would be a small problem.. Francis had a long lay off from his knee surgery.. and cardio is built overtime.. especially someone of his muscle composition.. had it not been for that layoff who knows.. he might have poured it on in round 10.
Francis is insanely Talented 😮. Jon Jones could've never ever done that against Tyson Fury in Boxing. I now genuinely think that if Francis trains for Jon Jones I see him beating Jon Jones.
If he fights Jones it’s not going to be a boxing match dude. Mma rules Jones beats Francis. However, Francis doesn’t need fight Jones anymore. He box Wilder next, or maybe get the Fury rematch, Francis is golden right now.

Fury won 6 rounds on activity. Fancis showed the best chin in combat sports because he walked through everything Fury threw, which was the difference in the fight. Fury stings or hurts guys that allows him to control engagements. Francis was unbothered by everything Fury threw and hurt Fury with a counter shot so Francis was able to control pace himself. Also Francis's ability to switch stances competently was something to behold.
Ive been telling people a long time ago. Francis is one of a kind he’s so athletic he couldve been good at multiple sports if he tried. Look how good he looked in the first 5 rounds…

Erik Nicksick has arguably just coached 2 1 way Fighters to the Biggest Upsets in a month. I scored it 95-94 Fury from the first time and view I saw it From Second time From a much better angle 96-93 Francis minimum. Fury was shook after KD, He led with his head consistently and his head was connecting with Francis's head. It was extremely close, but what I believe was corrupt more than anything was the constant leading with the head by Fury
What happened is perception. The perception was it was supposed to be a one sided fight against Francis. Because that perception was shattered, and it was close, most people's perceptions are shifted towards Francis winning. To be clear, Francis did win even if he didn't get the decision. He proved that he's a contender, and he did it against the best heavyweight in the world. Perception says he won, but the actual outcome was really the best outcome. That said, I'm super fucking proud of Francis.
Fury hadnt ever been hit like he was during this fight. He knew Ngannou has the power, and he was fightning more technical than Wilder. I think he knew the outcome would be different if he wanted to just exchange. The elbow was on purpose after watching. He never landed the punch, just the elbow.
Bruh, its like everyone forgot how Francis kept getting better every fight after his Stipe loss. He showed the ability to better himself and fix his flaws. I thought he would lose due to gassing out, but im not surprised he was able to box the way he did. He constantly improves.
Maybe, but certainly he is the baddest mofo on the planet now, I think. Because if Fury fought in MMA against Francis, he would be absolutely annihilated.

The bag, the credibility in both sports, an executive position, man he fumbled every step but still won.
It took Jon Jones 3 years to even consider heavyweight because Francis Ngannou was relevant! The best combat sports athlete of all time at this point .
Wow Francis life has literally been proving people wrong at the highest level over and over, his life story is the definition of what the human spirit is capable of

You're spot on with your prediction. Already I'm seeing boxing fans screaming "Well Fury been washed anyways!" in the comments section of other videos. Nah mate, He just lost fair and square.
I believe because the expectations were so low for Ngannou and so high for Fury that it made his performance look way more impressive. Not embarrassing at all for Tyson. Francis just showed up way better than anyone was giving him credit for
As a boxing fan watching fury get his ass whooped pillar to post was hilarious. Thats what he gets for not prepping for the fight and holding up the division for years
Francis comes from such a hard life is unbelievable to think what he’s achieving now the guy used to be digging in trenches with no fight experience when Tyson was best In the world crazy to think with a few months training he won this fight crazy crazy crazy
Why was boxing embarrassed?? I’m a huge boxing fan and I am extremely happy for Francis and how he performed. Pretty much all the boxing legends at ring side were impressed with him and were happy for him!
Yeah I don't understand it. I think Fury was embarrassed for sure, but the whole sport of boxing? This has shaken up the heavyweight division in a good way IMO.
lol imagine the opposite, Fury going against Francis in MMA rules, and coming close to winning on decision ( not some lucky 1 punch KO). And the ego of most top boxers, ask any legend they will dismiss MMA straight up , Larry Holmes for example was asked before the fight what he thinks, instead of being humble he said he would woop them both lol. Usyk is fuming. He deserved and earned his fight with Fury ages ago and Fury has done nothing but duck him since. Usyk is undoubtedly the best heavyweight in boxing.
Francis is built like what you would imagine a heavyweight baddest man on the planet to look like. Usually the big muscular guys only have it for show. no heart, no chin, and sometimes no power. Francis has everything that he looks like he has😂
I'm not a fan of MMA at all and a huge boxing fan but I agree with everything said in this video. Respect to both fighters especially Francis, after the fight 2 rounds before the knockdown I found myself rooting for Francis. You're right in saying that Tyson could give Usyk a hard fight and possibly beat him, but it won't really be due to skill. Usyk isn't a natural heavyweight. He's very small for the division. So he might struggle with the size and power of his opponents and their ability to take his punches better than guys closer to his size.
Usyk will win. Usyk will beat that Gyspy sausage. Tyson embarrassed boxing, himself, his family, and his fans. I hope Tyson goes to a deserted island and is never seen from again. What a braggart. Terrible. He wasted everyone's time with that shit freak show.

@@davidng8870being wild does not mean he’s not technical. A sign of a technical boxer is having power in both hands, especially your lead hand. @davidng8870 how are you going to say he isn't technical after watching this fight or when the won the ufc title against a prime stipe. i had 95-94 for Fury, however I think that all of Francis rounds were way more impressive, whereas some of the rounds I gave to Tyson were just for barely jabbing and dodging Francis if the fight was judged as a whole instead of by rounds, it would've been a clear win for Francis imo however, the sole fact that the decision is controversial should be embarrassing for Fury. i'm so happy for Francis for proving everyone wrong, hopefully he keeps making all the money Dana refused to pay him (and even more)
i also agree that boxing is so bad promoted wtf, whenever I want to see a it I barely see anything from the undercard guys, actually I don't even know where to look at the whole card and have to browse a while until I found it we always shit about UFC having bad production, but they completely shit over boxing
Did Francis just become one of the greatest combat athletes of all time? In my opinion Francis is now the lineal boxing and ufc heavyweight champion so there’s a good case
I'm a boxing fan and over the last few years even the youtube influencers having been putting the boxing world to shame. I personally think that it was good for boxing because the embarrassment will make us have to put work in the gym and the best fighters are going to have to fight more often like the MMA does at the moment.
Boxing won’t improve man. The best won’t fight each other, there’s too many belts, the officiating is inconsistent, and the undercards are weak. Boxing won’t improve until there is one big governing body, not the cluster fuck it is now. The UFC does a good job building stars, and making the big fights happen. You also know who is the BEST in the world in the sport. With boxing it’s so messy, 4-5 belts wandering around a division, fighters endlessly negotiating and never fighting… I can’t stand it. Ngannou punch is not that heavy for boxing, it’s maybe on level of some average top 15 boxers, but it’s funny that Fury was uncomfortable with Ngannou technically
Fury really damaged boxing to a degree where it’s embarrassing to be a fan of the sport and as die-hard who isn’t a Tyson Fury fan, I wanted Ngannou to pull a miracle and he did that! Boxing might not be as clear and concise as MMA but there are plenty of boxers that represent the sport better than Fury ever will but they get put way under the radar due to the lack of promotion and popularity.
I got to say I’m an MMA guy to I don’t really do boxing, but I got to say Tyson is no longer in his prime. A lot of the boxing community believes that Tyson took this fight this Ngannou fight, and then a rematch cause because he’s afraid to fight the genuine top, super heavyweight contenders in the WBC etc… at the end of the day. Ngannou should be super proud, because even though Tyson might not be at the peak of his prime, she is still an amazing boxer.
I listened to Guru's livestream and one of the main comments he said was "What was Fury doing out there?!?" with the explanation that Fury wasn't doing his usual fighting stances and techniques thoughout his fight like he did in previous outings. I would say that boxing did get a little embarrassed with this showing from Tyson Fury. With Mayweather/McGregor, you know Floyd outclassed Conor. Francis has shown his worth as a boxer.
francis won that fight 95-94. to be fair though, the wilder trilogy took a lot out of fury. fury was dropped a total of 4 times across those 3 fights, arguably getting knocked out and getting a long count in two of those knockdowns. At this time, i think Wilder vs Nganou would be one of the biggest fights in combat sports, perhaps even bigger than fury vs usyk given furys awful performance today.
I feel like this puts to rest the idea that the current boxers are better than the past boxers. It's clear that these undefeated fighters not fighting elite competition have degraded their skills

@@lunarmizt388
As a fan of both sports I unfortunately can say that fury won by two rounds maybe three simply due to the fact that boxing’s scoring system is shit.
knockdowns in boxing give you a 10-8 round win instead of a 10-9 round win so it just gives one extra round win effectively and doesn’t dictate the scoring of the fight at the end other than that.
Fury won like 6 rounds by just jabbing and doing nothing but absorbing big hits.
In boxing a guy can get beaten badly for 5 straight rounds and just run around the ring and jab for seven rounds and will be given the win.
Francis really had Tyson fighting scared at the end of this fight... let that sink in.

If he develops even better cardio and improves his technique more, he might steamroll everyone he fights before a belt.
sadly francis is actually 2 years older than fury
@@STIKE214 I know he is, but he looks much younger than Fury. He also hasn’t taken nearly as much damage as other guys at his age.
