"Gringo" is used to call people from the United States, it can be (as everything in the Mexican slang) a degorative or a joke between friends "Carrilla") historically it comes from the war between Mexico and the USA where a usa military group yelled "Green Go!" So Mexicans started calling them "gringos' for both making fun and because they didn't understand English. gringo/gringuillo is used in a daily basis not to offend but because in Mexico we don't say "Americans" because we consider it the continent therefore we're all Americans from Canada to Chile , and say "Norte americanos" is too long, if we have a friend from there we can say "mi amigo el gringo" as a friendly way but if the person isn't welcomed it can be an insult. Not to get confused by "Gringa" Wich is a female nort American but also a meal made with 2 tortilla cheese and chorizo

Dear miss India;
This song was written 20 years ago by an american citizen called Randy, he arrived to Mexico went he had 15 years old, after that he decided stay on Mexico and married with a mexican lady, have babies and work here.
Sometime, he decided travel to USA, to see his family together with his family, but at the border the oficial was very rugde with his wife and baby, even, they check inside the underware of his wife and baby.
For this reason Randy decided wrote the song and call to the border oficies 'gringo puñetero'= americane fucker.
This is the true about this song...

The song is talking about the relationship between Mexico and the US and about how our shared issues are not the fault of just one country or the other, like when they sing that the US accuses Mexico of growing and running drugs to the US when it's the US that creates the demand for the drugs in the first place and ends up consuming them. The guy with the devil at the beginning was the president of Mexico when the video came out, and the guy to the left is George W. Bush, the American president at the time. The rest of the lyrics basically speak about racism as it ties to immigration, about how a huge part of the US used to be Mexico until President Santa Ana sold it to the US, and about how American racists criticize other countries when the US is hardly innocent, and is often the cause of the very issue they're complaining about. Gringo is a term for Americans and it can be friendly or pejorative depending of the context. For example, Randy Ebright, Molotov's drummer (and the guy who raps in English in this one), is nicknamed "El Gringo" because he's an American, but it's not a negative term in this context.
How many years later? And nothing has changed. Actually, it might have gotten worse.
Gracias !
also, Randy's dad was a DEA agent, and they came to México when he was 15 because of that, so when he went back to the USA years later, with his wife and newborn child, she went trough another lane, and they didn't believed that she had a legal visa, so they searched her and the baby, and Randy got fucking upset, so he made this song, it's on a video of how the song was made
Yup she was thinking about the mexican president lol and it's all about the White racist Mofos..
Santana didnt sell anything. The land was stolen. over 25,000 american yankee soldiers died stealing the land from Mexico and over 50,000 Mexican soldiers, women, children and civilians died defending there land.
Actually, this song was composed by an american guy, one of the band's member. Sadly, he said that his wife which is mexican born was discriminated when passing through the border immigration as the same with his kid.

I think it is not necessary to clarify that this song is ONLY for racist "gringos."

This song was written by Randy, because in a trip to US the ICE agents askes his wife and daughter to be 'checked'. The reason for that was that his wife and daughter are mexicans. Randy is an american citizen member of the band.
the song was created by the drummer of the band that is American and the reason for the song that one day he and his wife and daughter go to visit their parents then when they cross the border he passes It happens normal but his wife and daughter (who are Mexican) are stopped by the American police because they said they were carrying drugs and even had an anal check and after this the drummer The drummer of the band created this song

Other band members are american too, America is a continent not a country

Gringo = any person from USA
@@californiarailenthusiast8142
No it isnt. It doesnt have to be peyorative. It´s slang to identify the nationality since we do not call them "americans" like they call themselves. It literally means a person from the USA (or with the US as their mother culture).
It can be used peyoratively, but any word can be used that way, even "Mexican".
gringo its almost used to bad americans and its dispecti but at the same time can be used in a good way so depends the context

Green-Go comes from when Texas was still part of Mexico and american soldiers would cross into Mexican land and Mexican ranchers and the Mexican ranchers would look at them and there Green uniforms and so they would say Green and then they would point back to the united states and would say go. Green Go.
Now this is a song worth seeing your reaction to! The lyrics are certainly offensive enough for both nationalities but it's also a portrait of the prejudice we all need to get rid of. More acceptance and tolerance is what we need. And even though the lyrics are R rated I think they serve a purpose well. To raise attention against our own intolerance. Also in the lyrics they mention 'Gringo Ranchers', I think this refers directly to the infamous Minutemen, who are civilians carrying guns to hunt border crossers down

Gringo is the word used to define the white citizens of the United States in Latin America
Dagoberto Pulido All the American Citizens
Bo es. Para definir hahhahahaa. Lo usamos para ofender. No mms
It is one of the many Mexican words that we can use both to insult or to call a person (friend or not) and also to name a product that comes from the US. So it's not just a word that serves to insult, it has a lot to do with the tone we use or the situation.
P.s: and applies to anyone born in the United States, not just whites.
Gringo== long time ago some Mexicans keep telling the migra to move that way they can cross the border. But they didn't know how to tell them. So they told them Green go. Green for the uniform ang go .... GRINGO = GREEN GO
Green go is a reference to how the Mexican referred to the US border patrol. Since they wear green uniforms. So they would say green go, green go. Basically leave. It then became a reference to Americans in general
India You are the realest out here, thanks for taking the time to read the lyrics, You are the only one who Got the meaning of the song correctly and Even though it talks about your nation, You were able to put it in perspective, keep up the good work!!
Love your channel , thank you for your work .
Gringo is a derogatory word us mexicans have to describe people from usa. There are many theories about its origin, one of them is that the word was born after the usa army invaded el castillo de chapultepec. We wanted the americans to leave, so mexicans during the war started calling them gringos, a mixture of the word green since that's the american dollar's color, and go, telling them to go away.
Melissa Castillo is not derogatory. In what part you live?
