  • I absolutely love my PB Swiss tools and they have taken over my tool bags in recent months, the quality and the feel in the hand is just superior in my opinion to pretty much every other type of driver I have used. The ratcheting stubbys’ only drawback is its length that places it more in a category of a mid length driver. All other aspects are absolutely the top quality you’d expect from PB Swiss. I purchase all my PB Swiss tools from the Tool Lady at www.toollady.com and her customer service is fantastic! Check them out if you’re looking for a PB Swiss dealer.

    A PB product that you might find handy , the PB 169 V01 ( pocket driver with three double ended precision bits , I have used them for eyeglass repairs, and adjusting pots on circuits boards ! The whole issue has a pocket clip , and is pen sized . They also make a scriber on the same chasis, with a tip protector ! The Swiss think of everything !

    Picked up the Wera ratcheting stubby for those special jobs where you want a ratchet and it needs to be short, it truly is a ratcheting stubby. The tilt for the storage is there as it is so compact without the tilt it would be tough to get the tips out.

    Thanks for that good in depth review. PB Swiss are quite hard to find here in England too but I have managed to order a ratcheting one, looking forward to getting it.

      @@MillisConstruction Welcome bud. By the way any opinion on the PB Swiss ratcheting stubby vs the wera? I actually want the 30mm PB Swiss ratcheting bit holding driver but there's none in stock so I'm considering the stubby. But then again the wera is quite a bit shorter. But which one is more comfortable to use I'm considering one as a portable driver for my mountain bike toolbox I made with a pelican case and some kaizen foam, trekpak dividers at the bottom, and a panel on the lid with some zipper pouches on the panel.

    Great review. I have couple of the standard 1/4 bit drivers now, but not been able to get hold of any ratcheting ones from PB Swiss. Like you said, the magnets in these are significantly stronger than those you find on other manufacturer's bit drivers.

    Dude's mustache is glorious.
    Trying to find a decent pocket-sized bit driver for work, kinda leaning towards the PB Swiss stubby.

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  2 года назад

      Haha thanks!!! Depending on length requirements mainly I’d be between the Pb and the Wera stubby if you’re looking ratcheting, if not ratcheting then I’d do the PB version 100%

  • @lastbesttool
    @lastbesttool 2 года назад +2

    Dang. I was hoping to avoid buying one of these. Guess that ship sailed now. I have the mid length version, but it doesn’t have bit storage, and I have a weakness for stubby screwdrivers.

    I really want a stubby with a legitimate collet, similar to dewalts extension but that has a collet

    How do you experience the fit of the bit in the non ratcheting stubby in comparising with the ratheting one?

    Great Review! 👏🏻👏🏻 Does this ratchet mechanism increase the weight too much? Thanks!!

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  2 года назад

      I don’t think so? It does have a nice solid heft to it though, most PB tools are built nice and solid that way. It does make it longer definitely and that’s probably the biggest issue with a stubby

    • @MeuReview
      @MeuReview 2 года назад

      @@MillisConstruction thank you, thinking on the fact that it's a swiss made ratchet, I think it worth it 😅👍🏻

    I've got two questions for ya:
    what handle typer/material do you prefer between the 6510 and the stubby?
    is there any play or rattle with the bit compartment on the 6510?
    I'm ordering a stubby and either the 6510 or 8510. The bit storage isn't as important as comfort

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  2 года назад

      The 6510 doesn’t have the grippy feel that the stubbies have. It’s a more rigid plastic. I kind of like the 6510 feel but the red is more the normal pb feel if you like that.
      Since the bits sit sideways in the 6510 you can get a slight rattle side to side as they move in the holder.
      As far as comfort the larger handles are more comfortable than the smaller ones just as a rule.

    Personally , I find the ratcheting stubby to be a bit too long . A long stubby , is a bit like a football bat ! I have the 30 mm magazine driver , it’s more practical ! I seem to have got you hooked on the good stuff !
