As someone who lost their father at a very young age, this song, and this particular version, speak to me on a very personal level. It almost feels like he’s singing to me. Like he’s making up, or at least trying to make up, for all of those lonely, fatherless years. I would love to hear Mandy Patinkin sing this song again.
I saw Falsettos in Oakland, MI. The guy who played Marvin didn't really give an honest performance. I was able to perform the song in my music theatre program this year as well. Such a beautiful song. Great post!
