Congrats, Isabella! I finally got around to reading War and Peace last year, pacing myself at 50 pages a day. I also read the Briggs translation, and the intro, the appendix and all the notes. So, I know how you must feel. It's not the longest novel that I've read (that would be In Search of Lost Time, and right now I'm forging through Clarissa, which is even longer than W&P), but it's clearly one of the greatest. That's one of the nice things about being retired ... plenty of time to read. Once again, kudos on your achievement! 🙂

Read it now, and let this wonderful work of literary genius work on your soul, you may not agree with everything Tolstoy proposes but I assure you that you won't regret it 😊
God bless you girl 😊 I left it far too late to read this absolutely wonderful book - in my view, this is the greatest piece of literature ever written..... bar none! Make sure you read this book before you're 18 yrs old, but if you're older then drop everything and read it - right now! But keep Google handy, you'll need it now and again, but I promise you that if you stick with it (and you must - really must) then you won't regret it.

✌ last year my friend and I were just talking about the books we wanted to buddy read and then I just said what about war and peace and she was like "that would be fun" And we made it a plan to read it this year we are about 20 pages through but this video is giving me the motivation to actually finish it 😆 I bow to you and I kiss your feet no hands sorry not feet hands yeah
buddy reading war and peace sounds so fun!! i hope you have the best time 🥺💛✨
plsss im thinking about reading war and peace for few months now and i think this is the sign to finally start😳🙄✊
👏 DO 👏 IT 👏
I read and loved this book and had many moments of tears, frustration, and sheer joy. Congratulations on finishing this mammoth. It’s a true favorite of mine! And my copy completely fell apart in pieces.
your annotations always look so interesting!! I've been trying to do some for a book I'm reading in French and it's been such a beneficial experience! so proud of you for finishing that behemoth of a book
thank you so much 🥺 i had soo much fun annotating this book and it definitely helped me understand the book better and enhanced the reading experience so i hope you have fun with yours! ୧( “̮ )୨✧
It is a great book, once you get your head wrapped around the vast and complicated relationships throughout.
When you were saying "I finished war and peace" the youtube subtitles had a different sentence every time. It was hilarious. Congrats! I'm on page 682. This gave me motivation to finish!
youtube strikes again T__T at least it was funny x)
I love Emmie too she makes me want to read classics too she explains them so eloquently and makes them sound so beautifully written
Two vids in one week!!! I was very surprised when I saw my Goodreads page and saw the notification that you've finished War and Peace. I've not been on your channel for very long but I've seen your journey with War and Peace through your past vlogs. I'm NO classics reader (I mean, I couldn't get through Anne of the Green Gables) and believe when I say this Isa, I'm SUPER proud of you for making it this far...
The longest book I've ever read was 600 pages and I admire you SO MUCH for managing to read a book, a freakishly 1400 pages long... Also your ANNOTATIONS!! I've only begun annotating recently and I have about 4 fully annotated books in my collection so it made me so happy to see you annotate the heck of out of a 1000+ page book... Congrats 📚💖✨!!!
Also little side question; How can we join your discord server? I've been wanting to join for a while, but I'm not sure how exactly to join... Thanks!!
ahh thank you so much 🥺 i'm so glad you enjoyed!! 💓 also i'm so happy that you've started annotating!! it's definitely going to make your reading experience so much better i'm so excited for you! 💛👉👈
here's a link to join my discord discord.gg/6Fh5UkzZ ✨
i read w&p during the first lockdown and the audiobook is what kept me going, otherwise i would have most likely died and become a ghost to haunt tolstoy's ghost:)
i'm 10000% haunting tolstoy because of that epilogue 😤
0:41 this...this is why i take months reading one book. I thought i was the only one that annotated/made notes on my books outside of a school/academic environment...for leisure. I mean i use similar sticky flags like yours and write on them since i don’t like writing on the actual book. You don’t read books, you savour and bask in every delectable bite of literary chapter and passages like the finest dish at a 5 star restaurant; you eat books just like me 🥺😍
i started War and Peace on Dec 31st and haven’t picked it up in a week, and you helped motivate me to jump back in! also am in love with you and your channel now! good for you girly!!!! hope you’re doing well 💕
good luck!! you can do this 🍀✨
Can we appreciate all the aesthetic pleasing earrings she wore during the whole process? 🥺
congrats to both of us!! 🫂💖
@@throneofpages❤
Omg you are so brave for finishing such a BRICK AND BEFORE THE "DEADLINE". So proud of you Isa
THANK YOU 😭💛
Queen I am so proud of you 😭 You deserve to say “I finished War and Peace” as many times as you want ❤️❤️ That being said…
Tolstoy Isabella
🤝
Repeating themselves
Also- I cannot get enough of your annotations!! Stunning!
PLEASE HAHA I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE 😭💀tolstoy really did a number on me huh 😀🔫
You should feel so proud of finishing that behemoth of a book! I simply would make it my entire personality if I ever did read it 😌Congrats!!
pls i've told my family multiple times and randomly called up friends to talk about our lord and savior war and peace 😤 it is 100% my personality for the next 6 months 😂
I read this one in physical, and then agakn in e-book. I LOVE the descriptions of events and theme of conversations of that time.
Im glad to see younger pwople who enjoy reading this type of books.
OMG so proud of you! I m in page 482 and I wanted to give up but this motivated me to finally finish it!! 💜
you got this!! 💙
Me eying my copy of War and Peace now 👁👁
But honestly this is such a big accomplishment!! So proud of you my love 💛
thank you so much (/^▽^)/
I literally am so scared to tackle this book, but now I feel like I should. That is literally such an achievement, congrats!! ✌🏽
trust me, if i can do it, so can you!!
I too was scared of this book for more years than I care to admit but now I'm in the last book of this masterpiece its been an absolute joy to read and I truly regret not having treated myself to it sooner.... I'm sure you'll love it just a much as so many others have done over the years since it was written ..... Read it now, and let this wonderful work of literary genius work on your soul, you may not agree with everything Tolstoy proposes but I assure you that you won't regret it 😊
God bless you girl 😊
I left it far too late to read this absolutely wonderful book - in my view, this is the greatest piece of literature ever written..... bar none!
Make sure you read this book before you're 18 yrs old, but if you're older then drop everything and read it - right now!
But keep Google handy, you'll need it now and again, but I promise you that if you stick with it (and you must - really must) then you won't regret it.
this inspired me to actually finish reading Frankenstein (*cries because its only less than 200 pages but i am struggling to function the past 6 months*) and War of the Worlds (dont get me started its almost been a year for this one) pfff ill get there one day ily ✌
you can do it!!! Frankenstein is one of my favorite classics 💛✨
I bought this book yesterday. I fell out of love with reading but am trying to get back into it and I’m incredibly intimidated by this book but want a challenge so thank you for motivating me to start it. 😭
you can do it!!
I’m so sorry, senpai, for ever questioning you. We should have believed in you and, um, apologize! You dropped this 👑 but SERIOUSLY, IM SO PROUD✌🏻
ok now say that on your knees ۹(ÒہÓ)۶
@@throneofpages 🧎🏻♂️I’m so sorry, senpai, for ever questioning you. We should have believed in you and, um, apologize! You dropped this 👑 but SERIOUSLY, IM SO PROUD✌🏻
Honestly those sticky tabs every 30 pages is what I need to do! I am a writer more than a reader, and when I read such fantastically written books as War and Peace, I get so caught up in the inspiration of Tolstoy's genius that I put the book down and write. As a result, I don't remember the last time I actually finished a book. Definitely going to do that this summer!
PLSSSSSS YOU ARE MY IDOL!!! well done !!🤩💖
This motivated me to finish all of my 900+ page books, that I've started.
you can do it!! 💛
@@throneofpages Also, I'm new to your channel and have binge watched quite a few videos by now! I love your content and the eye for detail in your editing ^-^
thank you so much!!
OMG MY BOOK JUST ARRIVED EARLIER, OMG I'M SO EXCITED TO READ THIS AT THE SAME TIME INTIMIDATE BY HOW THICK THE BOOK IS, BUT YEAH LET'S SEE IT IF I CAN FINISH IT OR THE BOOK WILL FINISH ME HAHAHAHAHAHA I REALLY LIKE YOUR CHANNEL, YOU'RE MY FAVORITE BOOKTUBER!!!
When you started repeating "I finished War and Peace" like a crazy human (which I totally respect, especially after finishing War and Peace) I thought you might have been Tolstolized because just a moment before you were ranting about how you hated Tolstoy's repetitions 🤣🤣🤣
HAHAHAAHAH PLEAAASEEEE I DIDN'T EVEN- PLEASE I- OH MY GOD HAHAH not me absolutely losing my marbles at this comment i can't believe it I'VE BEEN TOLSTOLIZED SLJDF PLEASEEEE
Yes, I totally noticed that also hahaha
Congrats honey!!!!!! That's incredible and know you can have yours 15 years of peace!
THANK YOU
War and Peace is a masterpiece! I've read it twice (not to brag lol) and I love it! 📚❤️🔥
I'm committed to finishing it this year. Anna Karenina is one of my fave books of all time but the 1300 pages is just so daunting. I'm up to page 65, so....a bit to go!
You can do it!!
I love how you kept saying "i finished war and peace" hearing your happiness on accomplishing that goal makes me happy 😊
I really wanna read war and peace!! Perfect timing. And I love emmie too ❤️
good luck!! 💛✨
23:09 is genuinely the best feeling ever. I finished it a couple of years ago on New Years eve bc I couldn't let myself go into the new year without finishing. took me 4 months of sleepless nights but still so happy I did it
I read war and peace during the first quarantine we had in italy in 2020 and let me tell you, reading a book that depicts human existence so well while seeing the world falling apart was an experience for sure.
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN; what did you think of war and peace?
@@throneofpages loved it, i was kinda bored during the war parts and to be honest i kinda skimmed through them, but the highs and the lows of the books all made sense at the end and overall i loved it, i understand why it stood the test of time... The books that made me feel actually understood are very few and this was one of them. Also the death of that character (if you get what what i mean) made me cry sooo much and i don't think i am still over it.
i know exactly who you mean 😭
You are so funny, I am happy that I've discovered you. Good job there, not only referring to the book, that I've just started, but also for the way you are presenting it, the way you are structurring the book, good ideas, thank you so much! Keep the good job! 🎉
thank you so much!
Omggg congratulations Queen!!!! 👑 So proud of you ✌️
thank you so much!! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و

✌🏽
I thought I was the only one 😂
Well done 🙂 This has inspired me to finally tackle the similar doorstoppers that I haven't finished! Love your enthusiasm and style of annotation, so helpful 👍
thank you so much! which ones are you going to try and finish? :)
What an amazing book.Everyone should read it than move into Dostoyevski. 😁

I wanted to start reading War and Peace this year...
Now I'm very much intimidated haha
if i can do it so can you!! ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑)૭✧
You just posted this video literally the same day I gave up on reading WAP, but didn’t wanna watch it because I was getting frustrated with everyone saying how this is their favorite book and life-changing when it really wasn’t doing anything for me, like i understand why it’s a big deal (Tolstoy’s theory of history and all), but I wasn’t feeling it. After watching your video I now feel motivated to pick it up, thank you and love your videos ✨🙋🏻♂️
It’s what some would call ✨destiny✨ good luck!! 🍀💓
this video makes me finally pick this book up and transform it into a lgbtq+ flag with the annotations ✌🏻
funny you mention lgbtq+ since this classic has such exquisite gay/lesbian/bisexual undertones (۶•̀ᴗ•́)۶
Oh wow reading a book for 6 months! This is amazing and it's motivating me to get through my reading slump❤
you can do it!! 💛✨
BRO IM SO EARLY
I HOPE YOU ENJOYED
I just finished reading War and Peace about an hour ago. It was definitely worth the effort and history involved with the book was quite interesting and accurate. It’s a very good case study of how we live our lives and despite any privileges we may have the human conditions remains. Highly recommend to read it.
Love how you're playing Twice in the background while cleaning your desk.
yay for finishing it! i'm so happy for you for doing it!
thank you!! ٩(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و
you watching the feels mv while decluttering exactlyy
I just wanted to say it, you are not annoying at all, i can absolutely understand you. I started reading War and Peace in 2018 and finished it in 2019... not proud to say that it took me A YEAR to read it, but I feel like I broke a kind of record for myself. I feel accomplished as a reader and my pride is...well...huge .
You really did a great job at proving to others wrong! I am waiting for your review on Anna Karenina ✌
even if it took you a year, it shouldn't overshadow the pride you feel for ACTUALLY finishing war and peace!!! not everyone can say that but YOU can, and that's something to be celebrated!!
I am gonna start reading it! And before that i checked videos of the one's who have read it! And i found u! I just wanna say a small thing to u that i love u and ur self pushing mentality! ❤
thank you so much!
