Is this how I felt when I first found them? Yes, except I still feel this way -- every single time. Avi's deep velvety voice reached me on another level. His solo work has made him my favorite artist. Matt joined PTX, so we have the best of both worlds -- PTX and Avi doing solo work. How lucky are we, the fans?
I first "found them" way back in 2011 when they competed and won on an Acapella competition show called The Sing Off. Scott, Kirstie and Mitch had known each other since school. A friend of Scott's told them that they should try out for the show, but they would need 2 more people to meet the shows requirement of a minimum of 5 members. They added Avi and Kevin just days before they auditioned for the show...and the rest is history. You should check out their Sing Off performances to see where they started from.
I love how upbeat and crunchy this version of Royals is. The original had a spare, kind of minimalist feel, this one is more joyful. Definitely get your face melted off with Can't Hold Us. Also try their original songs Can't Sleep Love A Little Space ft Ateez, plus lots more (they have something like 200 songs in their catalog, all of them 🤤).
@@LoccdWolfReacts there's two versions of the song, one is LMNT mix which they did for a commercial type thing for a drink and it's pretty cool on it's own, and then there's the one they collaborated on with ATEEZ. I'd check out both :)
I love how they pay homage to a song while at the same time they make it their own. Their music is always so uplifting no matter what song they sing you always feel good after listening to it❤❤❤❤❤❤
It only took their very 1st song on the 2011 Sing-Off (Katy Perry's song ET) for me to fall in love with them. Their journey on the show was something else. Of course, they won!!! Been a fan ever since. Also, Avi is able to produce overtone with his voice which really fills out the sound. ( Basically he's able to sing 2 notes/pitch at once.) This was one of my faves from way back. And I still love it...especially the "wall of sound" and Mitch's "...And I love being queen". It was Hallelujah and then Mary Did You Know that got me astounded and totally hooked on them. I haven't stopped being a fan since I heard those songs 6 years ago. You'll enjoy Can't Hold US. They did an awesome rendition of it.

Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch met and performed together in high school. When they wanted to go on the Sing Off, they needed a bass and a beatboxer so they found Avi and Kevin. It was like it was meant to be 😊
You ask how they blend so good. The only way is to grow together, sing together for years, get to know each others capabilities and have everyone's input as to how you should sound together. If you want to hear, in my opinion, their ultimate blending together, react to their cover of "My Heart with You" by The Rescues. When they sing this live they put their microphones on the floor, stand in a tight circle facing each other, and sing softly to and for themselves, even with a crowd of thousands. They must be physically close to each other in order to feel each other to achieve the timing and voice blending of this song. Two of the members of Pentatonix have said this is their favorite song to sing together.

They have something special. It’s different with each bass member but it’s still magic. Can’t wait for you to react to more!! Their originals are the best. I recommend Water, Ref, Misbehaving and Lucky Ones. Just to name a few 😊

A few suggestions - Somebody That I Used to Know (1 of their first videos), Say Something (beautiful and sad, w/Kirstie and Avi singing and Kevin cello boxing), Problem (great video w/a fun surprise in the middle), any of the medleys, though the 90's Dance Medley is my current favorite, Popspring performance from 2016 is an amazing 4 set live video w/3 originals, and last but certainly not least, when you are ready, Aha!, Singapore, The Star Vista (and yes Kevin is there, you just can't see him). If you do a Christmas playlist reaction when the season comes around again I highly recommend Mr. Grinch! Matt is the new Bass singer who replaced Avi so I suggest Sound of Silence as his introduction to you. Originals I recommend Coffee in Bed or Thank You. But my all time favourite that often gets overlooked is their Shallow cover - Kevin plays the cello BUT if you wanna stick with Avi for now I suggest Say Something - Kevin plays the cello! Yes, their cover of Can't Hold Us is amazing as well. Mitch and Scott are really good rappers. In Superfruit (Mitch and Scott's old You Tube channel) Feeling Myself, Mitch kills the rapping. Definitely well worth checking out.

All I can say is anything they do is delightful. Any video you react to I will watch. I'll definitely subscribe. I haven't read the comments but they have a great story as to how they came together. Scott Kirstie and Mitch went to school together and wanted to audition for The Sing Off. They found Kevin on RUclips beat boxing while playing the cello and invited him to join them to audition and Scott had a friend who recommended Avi for the bass. Kevin skipped med school I believe to join the acapella group. I really enjoyed all the songs they performed on The Sing Off, and watching them grow better and better each year. They are also known for their Christmas songs and perform them at their concerts during Holiday season. Their evolution videos are outstanding. Especially Michael Jackson. Avi eventually left the group and was replaced by Matt, who is just as talented. I'm definitely a pentaholic for certain. I cannot say enough good things about them. I want to see them live so badly. I just discovered them and am going to try to see the holiday concert this winter.

You didn't comment on this, but the very last scene, they were in different clothes, worn out clothes. Those were the clothes (or similar) they wore in the beginning of their career. Before they could afford new clothes, then they sand "bigger than we ever dreamed". They were showing how grateful they were for all the love and support they have gotten over the years. They also idid another song, "We are the lucky one's", where they talk about their journey to where they are now. I prefer the Jimmy KImmel version the best.
This was my introduction to Pentatonix…. I had heard the original by Lordes and never really impressed with it. When I heard this, I was not only completely blown away by them, I had much better respect for the song and Lordes.
