  • One of the most popular trails on the Columbia River Gorge has reopened! After the devastating 50,000 acre 2017 fire that swept the gorge, Eagle Creek Trail has been closed to the public. But after lots of time and patience we are FINALLY back on this spectacular cliff side hike in Oregon.
    Just 45 minutes from Portland, this favorite Oregon hike will have you losing count of the dozens of waterfalls, and incredible cliffs!
    The Eagle Creek trail is one of Oregon trails must see places! Ranking right along with Mount Hood, Multonomah Fall’s and Crater Lake. And for good reason!
    Hitting this trail early I set my sights on reaching “Tunnel Fall’s”. The trails iconic and breathtaking 175 foot waterfall. Just 6 miles from the trail head.
    Along the way I stop and share most of the notable features and trail details. Including basalt cliffs, dozens of waterfalls, the dizzying “Vertigo mile”, as well several side adventures. All to wrap up my day taking a swim & climbing over the cliff collapse at the famous Punch Bowl fall’s to share yet another amazing view from its base.

    Nice video and sick channel! I'm gonna do this trail within 2 weeks for sure ! I attempted it back when it first reopened in January 2021 but had to back out cause I ran out of food once I passed tunnel falls
    P.s. for anyone looking to have a "taste" of this trail, try Wahclella Falls; it's basically a mini version of Eagle Creek Trail and much much shorter lol!

    Hello Jess,
    Thank you so much for sharing this excursion with all of us around the world. I'm also from Washington but I have moved east across the country since 1997 and ended up more east than I would have ever imagined when I was your age. I'm sitting now in Nottingham England. I'd never before seen such beauty as I have when visiting Scotland but now that I've seen & I've shared your hike with my husband we agree that this just may be more stunning than Scotland & we are both keen to do some lighter, more age-appropriate hikes/walks there too when we go back for a future vacation. Neither of us would be comfortable or trusting on those narrow trails with so little walking space, so high up & with no handrails. I now know there are better places there for us to walk.
    Again, many thanks for sharing your beautiful hike with us 😊

    What a damn shame, but at least there was some greenery. Guess we just gotta give it another 96 years. Anyway, nicely done video.

    Nice job they did blasting out that trail. I guess they never heard of LNT?

    • @WanderJessica
      @WanderJessica  2 года назад +4

      What on earth are you talking about? This trail was ruined by the Eagle Creek fire of 2017 and has finally opened after restoration by hard working volunteers & trail crews.
      I very much respect LNT and talk about it frequently

      @Wander Time Thank goodness for those men & women who worked so tirelessly to restore it as wonderfully as they did. I appreciate reading your rebuttal to this fellow commenter, as it was required.

    Hi Jessica, how many hours did it take round trip?

    • @WanderJessica
      @WanderJessica  3 года назад +1

      Hi there! I was shooting video to record all the major points for you guys. So I ended up being out there all day.
      So it just depends on which place you’re trying to make it to. There are definitely short on time options I mention in the video as well as full day explorations. :)

    • @CRossi-fb3ni
      @CRossi-fb3ni 3 года назад

      @@WanderJessica thank you for replying. I am going in September to Oregon and already have my trip planned out as I just found out that this trail reopened. I was thinking to go to Tunnel Falls and back. So I might try to fit it in but it would really depend on how many hours this may take. But thank you for sharing your video! Very nice!

    • @WanderJessica
      @WanderJessica  3 года назад +1

      Definitely go to Tunnel falls. But if you go that far you absolutely must go the extra half mile up the trail to experience the “vertigo” mile. Don’t miss it!
