Which is your favorite Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen reference?
Bleach sure has it's influence. I first discovered it on 4th of July 2006 and haven't quit since. I like the persistent theme of Ichigo essentially rocking the boat and bringing about some change to Soul Society's bleak stagnation through his heroics in doing the right thing.
Who knew Bleach (a series I’ve appreciated for almost 20 years) would become an influence for Jujutsu Kaisen which would blow up with me in the Fall of 2020
Sadly jjk hasn’t been good since the start of the culling games.
Jjk ended after shibuya
Bleach has clearly had a significant influence on Jujutsu Kaisen, especially in terms of its themes and character archetypes. Both series feature a mix of modern-day settings with supernatural elements, where characters wield spiritual powers to fight curses or hollows. The structure of the organizations, like Soul Society in Bleach and the Jujutsu High in Jujutsu Kaisen, also parallel each other with strong, hierarchical systems of fighters. Additionally, the focus on intense battles, character growth, and dark, often tragic backstories shows how Bleach's legacy has inspired newer works like Jujutsu Kaisen, while also allowing it to evolve with a fresh, more contemporary take.
And many other new animes like Black Clover and Demon Slayer but yeah.

Around 3:50 Also Sukuna and Grimmjow share the same voice actor Junichi Suwabe, which is also share with Archer from FSN, you will notice that he has a certain type of characters he likes to do.

i honestly think domain expansion is a direct reference to bankai. Each domain expansion is unique to the user, much like bankai it materializes the caster's inner world which has similarities on how someone acquires bankai.
Domain Expansions are referencing Territories from Yu Yu Hakusho. They have literally nothing in common with Bankai aside from being power-ups.
Funny when you realize they they reference tosen’s bankai.

I think bleach is WAAY better. I really hate to say it but series are supposed to take their influences and improve on them. JJK didn’t simply take its influence (yu yu hakusho, bleach), it was a unique take on the same type of story. In my opinion, JJK managed to be similar to it’s influences while telling its own unique story. Even just the philosophy of each series tend to be at odds in the same way. Ultimately, I don’t think JJK stole or copied anything from bleach. A lot of the ideas behind jjk’s domains (+expansions) are derived from yu yu hakusho’s chapter black arc, when the power system of territories was introduced. It’s a psychic ability where you control your very own specific area. Yu yu hakusho was so influential for its time that even bleach was accused of copying it. Especially because bankai from bleach is completely different when compared to a jjk domain. YYH, bleach, and JJK are all very similar series. Why can’t we just appreciate them all?
Todo is nothing like kenpachi. He always reminded me of might guy more than anything. Todo was intimidating when he was introduced but it was not even close to as terrifying as kenpachi’s introduction. To ichigo, kenpachi was DEATH ITSELF. It got to a point where white/zangetsu even had ichigo fight a kenpachi avatar, to confront his fear.
Todo probably my favorite JJK character because he’s so positive and I love his bond with yuji. That being said, I love the silly little details about todo. I love how he’s actually INSANE enough to invent/imagine his own backstory for meeting yuji and the ridiculous reason why he and yuji are brothers. It’s pretty much the exact opposite way that ichigo gets along with kenpachi. My least favorite thing about todo is that he was one of the VERY few things I was interested in regarding current/ending JJK and despite that, we simply did not get as much of todo’s personality. Kenpachi got a LOT of focus from kubo. Wish akutami could’ve given us more moments with the best jjk characters.
Domain Expansion is based off Bankai and The Reality Marbles from Fate Zero I’m pretty sure Gege confirmed this in an interview and Territories from Yyh are influenced by Stands from Jojo
Jjk is inspired by hunter x hunter, naruto and bleach. Not yuyu Hakusho. Nor just bleach
In my observation, Domain Expansion closely resembles territories more from YuYu Hakusho, but then Kubo was also inspired from YuYu Hakusho when creating Bleach so this can be attributed to both manga.
Also Reality Marbels from Fate.

Bleach inspired so many other of these modern day new animes that it's not even funny man like look it's astonishingly inevitable.

Gege revealed that he was hospitalised around the last few volumes, the manga isn't really rushed but there are definetely places where it can be improved. Gege supervising the anime is highly unlikely but the anime will make expansions here and there.

There’s no one direct influence. Demon slayer is a lot more like bleach than JJK.
