Just when I was getting really nostalgic for those cute narrow-frame, smartphone-shot videos by Vanessa, just when even my cat told me while patting me on my cheek with its paw: "There, there, don't be so miserable, she'll return. Stop drinking vodka and waste yourself away!"...here she is, thanks God! She even inserted proper frames into this video, using, no doubt, some proper software, sparing us thus of necessity of downloading this clip and zooming in and in into her Canon back screen...Oh, Vanessa! Life would never be the same if you didn't bring us to our senses, senses previously dulled with all the decadence of wide-screen visual extravaganza. Right on!
Where have you been all my life! I stumbled on this video here in late 2021 (better late than never). So much great info in 13 minutes. Thank you! Aaaaaand...Subscribed. boosh.
That step Vanessa takes at 7:53 in the video is proof that she is or was a ballerina. Great job as usual. I have learned so much from your great videos.
Hi Vanessa my first wedding shoot is this Saturday. Your videos are amazingly helpful but I think this one has given me the confidence and structure I need. Fingers crossed it goes well. It’s the British summer after all. Thanks again.
I always had a situation, what to do next in posing but what you explained really helped me to built confidence and way of thinking to carry on without confusing.... you played very well especially with crop ones...thanks in advance..
Hey Vanessa thank you for this session, this short intro is a very fine complement on other portrait photography training session, what is interesting with your approach is he fact that you give a lot of attention to the facial expression of your subjects which is for me a welcome complement , this obliges you to work much closer than if were just posing couples. What makes your sessions complete is your natural joyful enthusiast way of sharing your professional talents. By the way just a note for feeling a biting cold ( I noticed you know your way through in French: " Un froid de canard") as sail yacht yachtsmen we would only comment "At least we are feeling we are alive". See you /hear you on one of your channels.
Hey Vanessa Joy!! ...nobody teaches this and it's soooo frustrating to me. I know my way around a camera pretty well, but some of these more technical types of tricks and effects are things I still have yet to conquer and really figure out. THANK YOU soooo much for doing this for us!! I would sure give the world for you to also do a couple of videos teaching us how to photograph sparkler exits, light trails with wedding reception dance photos, how to photograph those cigar smoke photos of the guys on wedding day, and how to get that hair spray shot when the bride is getting ready. I'd also love to learn how to do some of those trick photos that so many of you do on wedding days - the reflection, shooting through things, bokeh lights, ring shots with an extra fun flair, etc. A super fun photographer that does a lot of this stuff is Jason Martin with Concept Photography. This guy has some super cool photography tricks and effects and I still have yet to figure out how he does a lot of them.
Thank you! I have frozen before (i knew I froze but the client didnt realize) i did come up with something but this was really helpful still! Another tool to never get into that situation again! I love how you refer to it like crop, head and body circles. Thank you! 👌🙏🙏
I have the Canon 85 mm f1.4 IS as well and the IS is amazing, I can take sharp pics handheld at 1/10th of a second (non moving objects), which was impossible before.
Great video and photos. 👏🏼👍🏻 How did you choose your initial settings? Since i am rekindling my craft, this is a weakness . I meter, set the exposure, take a few shots then I keep fusing the the settings. My daughters won’t model for me because I am too slow; i am trying to learn. 🤣🤣
Hello! Good morning when shooting using the speed posing method can it be with couples where the man is taller than the women or the women is taller than the men ?
@@VanessaJoy I know, you have to cover multi platforms out there and you are doing a brilliant work frankly. I usually cast youtube to my tv set and that is when the vertical video really seems like a lost opportunity. Anyway, just thinking out loud I guess. Big fan of your energy ☺️
I finally have an answer for you about my camera strap! creative-teacher-9768.ck.page/1fb5eeedd8 this will be VERY limited so lmk here if you want to know when it's available!
It’s not luck I have an assistant, it’s working hard enough and building a business wisely to be able to pay one. Sully here is not just an assistant she’s a shooter as well. And I’m not sure what your point about her having a soul is supposed to be.
@@VanessaJoy Blimey I apologise, I didn't mean to cause much of a hussle, I guess it must be my overseas view of things but I thought that a "thank you" while she was helping would have looked nice but maybe it's my way of seeing it! I'm sorry indeed if it sounded rude! The "luck" I'm talking about is because many people who are starting in this job and are watching this nice tutorials (some people even for the entirety of their career) haven't got the chance to have a skilled second pair of hands to help. "Luck" doesn't mean not deserved neither that you're doing wrong!
@@rezzoc91 lol I can’t tell if it’s ignorance to the before and after thank yous to my assistant, wild judgmental persona that makes character accusations of a complete stranger after watching a ten minute video or you’re just trolling for attention. Whichever it is, it’s not a good look on you and I’d be more concerned about your manners here vs my lack of recorded thank yous. Best of luck.
@@VanessaJoy I'm sure you've great vibes with your friends and colleagues. It just that that part really looked out of tune to me! I'm grateful for being answered so quickly. A little bit less for the answer but it's ok. Everyone's got his own way I suppose. Cheers anyway!
hi Vanessa ready to laugh a good read for when your not having a good day. whenu said crop circles i thought you where kidding, yes making a joke and i started to laugh not lol. i was thinking a about pattern created by flattening a crops, The term was first coined in the early 1980s by Colin Andrews. if you have not heard of these here is a pic of one en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crop_circle#/media/File:CropCircleW.jpg
I loved the "find your favourite nose hair" queue. It made me laugh too. So you know it'll make your client laugh and give you a genuine smile!
Hehe that’s my goal!
Thank you for all videos Venessa ❤
No problem ☺️
taking pictures when it's so cold and in heels ... respect

Oh, wow wow wow wow wow. What a fabulous clip, thank you so much for posting it, Vanessa. Brilliant.
So happy you liked it!
Thank you for posting this, i really needed a refresher after not shooting in a month due to covid restrictions where i live. Canon master race!
Glad it helped!
Another classic from the Vanessa Joy Archives!
Yup :)
Best posing video I’ve ever seen, thank you, subbed.
That means a lot to me. Thanks for being here!

Nice work! I love your posing videos here and on instagram. Props too for freezing with your models instead of bundling up while they freeze!
I couldn’t let them do it alone!!
great tips! will try them out on the next photoshoot! thank you for sharing. you are awesome!
I just love these helpful reviews. I'm amazed how insulated you are to the distracting surroundings and the rhythm you keep. Thank you.
Haha I think I’m just immune to the nonsense
These are amazing! I’m getting married in about two weeks and these help give me confident in posing effortlessly! Thank you! Amazing work😍

I looooved this video 😍😍
Thanks for this. Great instruction.
Glad it was helpful!
These are amazing, thanks for the tips Vanessa! Hope to see more!
Great Video!!
Thanks!
When this Covid thing is behind us, you should do a live class like this. I would definitely come down from upstate to be a participant.
Would love to!!!
Excellent. So doable....very encouraging! Thank you so much.

Thank You for your tips I appreciate it, love your videos
This video is gold!
Glad you like!
Love you Vanessa! Always walk away with a new tip on every video I watch. And now on to more videos as I have a wedding this Sunday.
This is a very great tip. My usual problem is the client asking to go to a different location and that's kinda where you ran out of posing ideas.
Thanks for watching!
Very well done, thank you!!
Thanks for watching
Muchas gracias.

Great tips, thank u so much!! One quick question, while you were doing the circles, were u using single point focus point?
Yes. Tho now i use face detection with ai servo
Well done
Thank uuu
Bahaha, the second time I've heard you say "pick your favorite nose hair!"
Lol I say it a lot

Of course ☺️
I love the way vanessa communicates with her clients but it's definitely something only a woman do.
Hello Mrs.Joy when shooting closer which lens is better 85 1.8 or 50mm ?
50mm will let you get closer

Love your content and although I get why, I have to tell you, that vertical video thing is killing me....

It wasn’t out yet :)
