      The murder trilogy is, in chronological order:
      Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf
      Midnight Show
      Jenny Was a Friend of Mine

    • @ebthenerd6191
      @ebthenerd6191 3 года назад +1

      It's loosely based off a real life murder, but I can't remember all the info on it.

    • @boreilly82
      @boreilly82 4 месяца назад

      They're not based on a true crimes.
      One song, Where is She, was inspired by a true crime, but when the band discovered the missing girl had been murdered they stopped playing it

    If you two liked Hot Fuss, I think you should react to either their newest album “Imploding the Mirage” or their previous album “wonderful, wonderful” slightly different to hot fuss but it’s still slaps like the killers should

    its cool that you heard similarities between the smiths since the bass line in jenny was a friend of mine was influenced by the bass line in one of their songs, barbarism begins at home

    Great video!! I agree with your least favorite tracks. I feel that Hot Fuss has really great songs and others that I often just skip, but the good ones are so amazing that it's still a great album. If you like his vocals, you should listen to their most recent album, Imploding the Mirage, his vocals are amazing there.
    Also, JT, you're right: "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine" and "Midnight Show" are part of the murder trilogy along with a b-side called "Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf". Some people say that the whole album could be part of that story. In earlier The Killers' albums, Brandon Flowers invented a lot of characters influenced by Las Vegas. In their latest albums, his lyrics became deeper and more autobiographical.

    It’s crazy how you could recognize their influence by “the Smiths” as Johnny marr the frontman of them had just been on tour with the Killers and who’s come on stage to perform Mr. Brightside with them and they did covers of the smiths songs

    I remember me and my family would listen to Hot Fuss whenever we went on road trips. I was a kid at the time, so Hot Fuss is quite a nostalgic album for me. You guys had the same experience as I did; you seem to like the first half better than the second half, which is true for me as well, but the second half eventually grows on you. Glad to hear you guys like it and I enjoyed hearing your thoughts.

    You should listen to the rest of their albums!!!
    I think Change Your Mind should have been removed altogether and replaced by the B-side Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll to me. It took a while for me to enjoy Everything will be alright and Believe me Natalie and I think it’s because they aren’t surrounded by singles, many of the best songs are in the first half, making the second half feel worse than it is, especially on the first listen, if that makes sense?

    hii a bit a little late on the video lol but about the lyrics "somebody told me you had a boyfriend that looked like a girlfriend that i had in february of last year" theres many interpretations, it could be that he was a dating a bisexual girl that the girl he's talking to is now dating, that his ex "girlfriend" came out as a trans man or completely differently this song is about the hardships of making original music and the "bf" is a sound that he thinks is new and original but turns out somebody already made it, it's up to you! also andy you're a star is about brandon flowers' (the lead singer) high school bully lol
    ps. looove your reactions and if you ever feel like "going" overseas you should check out arctic monkeys!!!

      @@THATGUYJT It's easy to over complicate the lyric, but don't. "Somebody told me you have a boyfriend that looks like a girlfriend that I had in Feburary... (his ex.) Think of how when Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow dated, they had a similar haircut and looked like the male / female version of the same person. In the song the singer is saying I might have a chance with this new girl, who's name he doesn't even know yet, because they have attraction to a similar type of people. Hence he sings "I have potential..."

    I love every song on Hot Fuss. Change Your Mind is probably in my top three from the record. Believe Me Natalie is my least favourite and I can see what you're saying about it going on for too long, but I still like it, especially when the horns kick in. Overall an amazing album and their best one imo, but all their other ones are great too. (They each have their own style so don't expect more like Hot Fuss!) You should listen to Sam's Town, it's their second album and it also happens to be my second favourite of theirs.

      @@THATGUYJT y’all should review their first 3 albums, panic is a wild ride because their first album is iconic super unique sounding and then their second album
      is straight up indie folk music (mehh) and then their third album is a perfect blend of the two and it’s so good. If y’all did a series of those albums it would be so entertaining to watch.
