I used to review CDs for a fanzine in my 20ies. I gave this masterpiece a 10/10 at the time. 20 years later I would give it 11/10.
    Best album ever.
All musicians are at the top of their art and Macaluso's touch adds a lot of subtlety and personality to the music imo. They worked really great all together and the song writing is outstanding. There is no superlative to describe this album. It is just perfect down to the coin solo ;-)
The first Ark album is also an amazing piece btw.

I found this album 3 years ago here on RUclips. For some reason it didn't click for me, I didn't like it. I came back a few months ago and now it's probably my favorite album of all time. I just fucking love it and can't get enough of it. Jorn is a beast and the band has an impeccable musicality, the sound is just addicting. The drums and the guitar add so much dynamics and the bass has this incredible tone which I specially love in "Torn". And some acoustic parts are just amazing. And don't even get me started on Jorn's vocals. It's such a shame the death of Randy Coven(R.I.P) and Mats Olausson(R.I.P), two really talented musicians, but I'm grateful they did this, and I'm probably never gonna stop listening to it. This album should get much, MUCH more recognition.

In case you haven't found yet, the drummer released a "solo" album with lots of guests a few years after Burn the Sun, called Union Radio - The Radio Waves Goodbye, it was apparently made of many of the ideas he had for a follow up to Burn The Sun and is pretty great too, if a bit darker overall.
