I love you babe
One of the most unique albums of all time with an all star line up.
Songwriting is out of this world on this record. Production is fantastic, and the songs of immense replay value. One of my absolute favourite progressive metal/rock albums ever. What a shame Ark fell apart after this album and never reformed.
110% agree.
questo album dovrebbero studiarlo a conservatorio
Ask Jørn (Jorn) Lande what happened...
@@jarlea.samuelsen7948 so what happened?
2 of them are sadly passed away :(
I used to review CDs for a fanzine in my 20ies. I gave this masterpiece a 10/10 at the time. 20 years later I would give it 11/10.
Best album ever.
All musicians are at the top of their art and Macaluso's touch adds a lot of subtlety and personality to the music imo. They worked really great all together and the song writing is outstanding. There is no superlative to describe this album. It is just perfect down to the coin solo ;-)
The first Ark album is also an amazing piece btw.
Thanks mate. Exactly what I feel.
This is à masterpiece.... their first album was one too but underared...
One of my favorite prog metal albums of all time.
One of top 10 best albums ever recorded. Unique songs and different genres on one album. Great!!!!
Yeah, genres don't really apply here. Though I can hear some of the many influences its always worked in with carefulness and never just a bland copy but something unique. Truly a Masterwork.
Indeed man, just discovered it and stunned to the bone, I love the playful bits with winks to Pantera and other great bands... simply awesome!
Really? Sounds like boredom to me.
@@21willyx21 troll
@@Olgerman Not really. But if you want to listen to interesting Lande music, get The Great Divide.
One of the best prog metal album ever made!
This hsould be in the Pantheon of greatest prog metal albums of all times. The musicality is simply fantastic.
Masterpiece!
Randy Coven (R.I.P. 2014) Bass
Mats Olausson (R.I.P. 2015) Keyboards
WTF!
I salute thee, see you in valhalla.
OMG! So sad. Didn't know that.. R. I. P. both and thanks for this masterpiece.
Both played with YJM ... RIP both of them...
Macaluso too(
@@Bruce_Veles What are you on about? Macaluso is alive and well.
One of the most beautiful albums I have ever listened to. All of the musicians are over the top. Great memories.
The best album and band that nobody's heard about! I was addicted to their 2 albums in the early 2000s. No other band ever sounded like them, very unique!
what an underrated album! simply amazing!
Isso não é um álbum! É uma obra de arte, a décima maravilha do mundo!
Great album. Jorn Lande and Tore Ostby formed quite the team together.
I found this album 3 years ago here on RUclips. For some reason it didn't click for me, I didn't like it. I came back a few months ago and now it's probably my favorite album of all time. I just fucking love it and can't get enough of it. Jorn is a beast and the band has an impeccable musicality, the sound is just addicting. The drums and the guitar add so much dynamics and the bass has this incredible tone which I specially love in "Torn". And some acoustic parts are just amazing. And don't even get me started on Jorn's vocals. It's such a shame the death of Randy Coven(R.I.P) and Mats Olausson(R.I.P), two really talented musicians, but I'm grateful they did this, and I'm probably never gonna stop listening to it. This album should get much, MUCH more recognition.
Listen to "VAGABOND" (with Ronnie Le Tekro *of TNT on guitars) Two of the first JORN records, with a tons of Vocal versatility: ruclips.net/video/hCgpr_ICSp4/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/VPY7nSZLcAU/видео.html
This album is simply amazing!
The genius Tore Østby is the most underrated guitarist in metal history, he was aready far ahead with Conception and with Ark he showed his greatness again!
I Keep jealously The Last Sunset (Conception). At times Tore was only Sixteen!
Ostby Is my fav Guitar player
One of the best albums I have heard in my entire life.
Man... to many R.I.P... There is a prog show in heaven..
This band could have conquered the metal scene if they had stayed together.
I'm not sure how I found my way to this vid, but WOW!!!! This is everything I love about Prog. Why have I never heard of these guys?
I just scrolled down to see this comment after typing a very similar one. I wish these guys put out a new album. Sounds like it would have been insane
In case you haven't found yet, the drummer released a "solo" album with lots of guests a few years after Burn the Sun, called Union Radio - The Radio Waves Goodbye, it was apparently made of many of the ideas he had for a follow up to Burn The Sun and is pretty great too, if a bit darker overall.
Fucking mastetpiece.. goosebump everywhere.. every time
When I was 20/ 21, I listened it for the first time and, sixteen years later, I still get chills when I hear the album again. It is a masterpiece sculpted in a pentagram!
Greetings to all from Spain;)
Yes...
This album is an exceptional masterpiece even after 15 years, but of course the good music never has expiry date.
Another thing I have to mention is that all notes in the bass lines are simply perfect, the gift of music.
I wish I could play my bass like Randy had been doing on this record. RIP Randy, I'll never forget you. Missing you... :'-(
Best 10 ever made, by far.
One of the best albums in the world/Um dos melhores álbuns do mundo [30/04/2018]
Maybe the best album for Jorn...
Agree!
You are spot on.
one of the best,,..the 1st is The Devil's hall of Fame with Beyond Twilight
Dracula's project with Trond Holter has some great vocals by him too, and it's from 2015 (I think)
I AGREE !!!!!!
Probably the best prog-metal album I've ever had a chance to experience.
One of the best album ever
This is just amazing! One of the most exciting albums I've heard, ever, it's iconic, WOW how is it I am just now hearing this?
The best album I've ever heard...
F*ck this is unbelievable good !!!
I,m hearing lot of POS vibes and even some Led zeppelin
Excellent prog metal, a great album !!!
Tore is back with Conception!!
Simply One of the best prog metal album ever.
Just for the lyrics ;)
One of the greatest albums ever made. No question about it.
I heard once Randy Coven, a legend, but this album blew me away... Awesome
If you like Jorn on this ,try Beyond Twilight - The Devils Hall Of Fame.....he is brilliant on that album.
Great album. 🤘🤘👍👍👍
GREAT ALBUM !! OUTSTANDING !!
Just a Little is a great piece! vocals are stunning, very _painofsalvationish_
the most beautiful album I've ever heard
Awesome! For me, Jorn is pretty much a fusion between Coverdale and Dio!
He is much better than David and Ronnie!
For me he's on a league of his own
@@gordoshka He´s not better than Dio. He doesn´t has a bigger range. I think Jorn Lande himself would be embarassed reading this comment...
I get some touches of Audioslave in his vocals too. But I freaking love his stuff regardless of who may from time to time sound like.
@@gabrielp9646 Range isn't what makes a singer great.
monster album!!
Man what a great find this album is. Has a really cool vibe to it and of course Lande is killing it again!
Back when progressive metal actually tried to be progressive
How the hell did I come across the album? I wonder how many awesome albums there are that many people just haven't come across
I am constantly looking. When you find something great it is so bad ass!!!
Some other good ones to check out are Porcupine Tree, Chroma Key, OSI :)
Thanks Matt my search continues
Prog Ride. True story. Only now i find this. Better later than never i guess
True. There are so many great albums and composers. It's great to find one.
I came across Kamelot in the beginning of this year. Now I can't imagine my life without it. Then I found Conception and some other great bands (Stratovarius, Soda Stereo, Rata Blanca, Nostra Morte), then this album.
My favorite progressive metal album. Jorn Return to ARK, PLEEEAAASEEEEE!!!
you have absolutly right..the best progressive metal album ever....
:)
Melhor trabalho que jorn já participou
Absolute masterpiece.
I used to play bass when i was younger. Randy Coven's playing made revolution in my approach and overall understanding. If i had 1/10 of his skill, i would be God. Great underrated talent. R.I.P
Best album ever made to me.. There are no words to describe it
Pedazo de album una pena que se disolvieran
Ich bekomme gänsehaut bei der Band.
Klasse!
Those of you who like this should check out another defunct Norwegian prog rock/metal band, called _Conception_. Their albums are on RUclips. Try _Flow_ first. Very different type of vocals to this, though (Roy Khan of Kamelot fame).
It´s curious how people know about Kamelot and not about Conception. Al 4 Conception´s albums are great, but I prefer Parallel Minds.
Not defunct any more! Back together and working on new material with Roy Khan! :-)
@@miguelbarahona6636 All 5 albums now!
What an album
Heal the waters, Burn the sun, Torn, Feed the fire, Just a little, Ressurrection, etc
too many great songs.
Did Dream Theater just rip them off? The riff in Noose is the same as in DT's This Dying Soul :o
100%
Everyone that actually plays ripped off someone else.
A lot of Train of Thought stuff is awkwardly reminiscent of Tore’s work on this album.
Aliens playing music. This is superior, something that eludes the rest of us mortals.
Masterpiece
Unbelievably awesome! I never thought I would hear catchy progrock!
masterpiece
Album of my life. "Silent is the Rain" is song of my funeral. 🎶🖤
Salvo, Roy Khan...
Best prog metal álbum in the world untill now
Damn! Been a prog metal fans since the early 90s but only discover this band this time.
The vocalist reminds me of Dio...or at the other times - of David Coverdale
Try to give Jørn Lande's band's (Jorn) covers of Deep Purple's 'Stormbringer', or any of their Dio covers a listen. Just to confirm (or debunk) your theory.
Dio, Coverdale, Sting, Bjork, Glenn Huges, Dickinson ....and Jorn of course !!!!
And that is saying a lor about Jorns vocal chops, easily among the best singers in the metal business.
RIP Randy and RIP Mats !!
***** Βro..I don't know.. many rock+metal people died lately. Unfortunately, the ARK reunion did never happen. And this 'Burn The Sun' in 2001 lineup was the best. The closest thing to ARK was the recent Macaluso/Tore Ostby collaboration. Greetings to Colombia in '16, take care!
+Neueregel what do you mean with the recent collaboration? maybe some news?
Discão!!!
All time classic.....Jorn Lande is the king of metal singers.
Best prog metal record ever made
they stand heads and shoulders above so many. i want more 😈
Coven performed some crazy shit on this record. RIP.
Such a shame they only lasted a little period... Great album!
Great Album!!!!
bjork influences in absolute zero
52:05, a quote from "Ridi, Pagliaccio", by Leoncavallo? Only the band knows for sure.
Majestic 🤘🤘🤘
OTSBY!!!!!!
Silent is the rain gets me every time. Goosebumps.
genius band
I'd like to know what's wrong in this great music, according to those 19 people...
Never heard anything like it.
Chalk up a win for Tore Ostby and Jorn Lande...a great album for sure.
Un vrai chef d'œuvre.
What a great album. Love it!!!!
Me too!!
It just take you to other places..
Almost instantly convinced. This is going to my phone.
We got a Bass Player \o/
Olha quem eu encontro .....kkkkkk

This band also spiral architect for me are an a inspiration, listening from the very beginins if conception
Que discazo impresionante!, una joya, cuando se tocan todo pero con el corazón a la luz
the second album is better for my feeling
really masterpiece
Una obra maestra
thanx ! one of my favorite album !
