2017 Evora owner here. Scotty is on point 100% This thing drives and handles like a supercar but has a fraction of the maintenance costs, Also Scotty, it never ceases to amaze me that Toyota had to go the BMW route for the Supra Engines, yet Lotus can take a Toyota engine and make perform like a supercar!
That's because broke Dems type of people move to Texas, look at what's going with the mass Cali exodus there. Houston is also the worst city in Texas, it's like Chicago 2.0 there with the dramatic increase in crime during this pandemic.
I think it had to do with that Audi that had the engine seized up a few months back that made Scotty leave. He told them for years about Audis but they didn't listen so he said, "I'm done here."
Colin Chapman was a automotive genius. He was also a very nice guy - let my friend and I stay in the pit with his team during a Canadian Grand Prix race and qualifying many years ago, "Lads, you can stay with us, just don't get in the way of the mechanics". Used to throw his hat up in the air if his team won the race. A real gentlemen - impossible to find these days in F1 racing.
I've owned a 2012, 2016 and now a 2020 Lotus Evora. Absolute best vehicles I've ever owned. Stupid reliable, cheap to maintain and a BLAST to drive. AND you don't really lose any money buying them used. Buy, drive, sell and don't lose anything. So long as you maintain it with records.
Great video as always. One small comment though: MSRP for a new Evora GT is around $97k, but for this Evora S it was around $76k back then. The current owner paid $56k for it. So a $20k deprecation hit in 7 to 10 years (I'm not sure what year this one is) on a $76k car, although not insignificant, is NOT bad at all, especially for a quirky, low volume British sports car (compare it to the depreciation of a Jaguar or Aston Martin!). Evoras are holding value way better than anyone would've guessed.
As an owner of a lotus I can truly say they are amazing and super reliable cars and the cost of ownership is very low. I would get my fuel pump from the Toyota dealer 😂 for cheap whenever I have to do the oil change. I beat the car and drive it alot and not one problem truly an underrated sports brand
May I ask how old is you Lotus? I am thinking of putting a deposit down for an Emira but not very familiar with Lotus so not sure how reliable to newer cars (Evora) would be. I am thinking about getting the V6 engine as opposed to the I4 AMG engine.

It's because not everyone wants to drive 4 cylinder shitboxes. If people bought cars solely with reliability in mind, we wouldn't have cars like this Lotus because manufacturers wouldn't take chances in their engineering departments to make beast like this. Plus every manufacturer would essentially build the same/identical vehicles as the next and their wouldn't be any variety at all, further making people brand/tag fans as we already do have, but worst. I would love to get my hands on a Lotus Evoria. I thought about an Elise until I saw one in person and realized how tiny they are and I'm a pretty big guy.
I know you’re in Tennessee now Scotty but the Lotus is the second car with Kentucky tags I’ve saw recently, I’m in Kentucky, but I’ve been to Tennessee a lot and I like it there.
A Lotus Type 116 (Opel Speedster/Vauxhal VX220. It's the GM car that arguably saved Lotus. As with out GM money and them building Lotus a new factory. Making them comply with safety standards and modern production methods. Allowing Lotus to re-enter the US market and European markets. They were also both more powerful and faster than the Elise and Exgie's of the time too.

@Chaminda Thushara Ruwan Kasturi that sucks. I never had a problem with my 359z or 370z
Lotus is a great car. My son has a Elise a with Toyota engine modified by Yamaha a 141 MPH car. Has power windows because the are lighter than the windows with operators. He drives a Miata NA we built up for his Autocross\Track car.
5:13 "Race tracks if you're into that" + Tiny Town Road. If you live in Clarksville, you get it!
Cool.. my Lexus ES 350 that I got because of you Scotty had the same motor right? Sweet! 😉 much love and mad respect from Portland,Oregon 🌹🏙💩🔥
Seeing Scotty this giddy concerning an English car
is refreshing....... What! Never mind It has a Toyota engine.
Usually the way to make the best car. The English do the chassis the Germans or Japanese do the engine. McLaren F1 for example, had a BMW M power engine. Oh and most Formula 1 cars since the beginning of time. Most based in England, most have English team principles and engineers.
Congratulations Scotty! 🎉🎊
And I am watching this video sitting in my Lotus Evora 🥲
This is one of the most enjoyable Scotty videos. It is not only very informative but also very funny.
" a Porsh nine-one-one"
Its porsche por-sha .. its a family name. You can ask them how to say it correctly.
@@cayman9873 I KNOW how to say it correctly. That's why my comment has quotations on it. That's how Scotty is saying it.

A supercharged Camry!!!
Not funny
Didn't laugh
it's not supposed to be funny. it's literally a supercharged camry engine.
and it's phenomenal.
I would love to get my hands on a Lotus Evoria. I thought about an Elise until I saw one in person and realized how tiny they are and I'm a pretty big guy.
THIS GUY IS A NUT! BUT FUNNY AS HELL! SCOTTY KILMER, MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER! 😆
3:12 person in background... "someone making a video? back up..."

@@OmarAttar Well then!
Lotus have always been known for the handling. Can remember them making the esprit( the james bond model)
You really know your cars Scotty!
I know you’re in Tennessee now Scotty but the Lotus is the second car with Kentucky tags I’ve saw recently, I’m in Kentucky, but I’ve been to Tennessee a lot and I like it there.
Scotty is the man. Wish this dude all the success he earns
Time to update your intro, nice car young man
A Lotus Type 116 (Opel Speedster/Vauxhal VX220.
That 1.8L engine was in the Celica and Corolla. The Lotus Evora has the V6 which goes in the Sienna and Lotus put 2 turbo chargers on it
