I think Gallagher saying he is Thirteen makes a lot of sense when you think of the characters as the Major Arcana. The trailblazer was given a card numbered 'Zero' by Black Swan, which would make them The Fool. And Gallagher saying he is Thirteen makes him Death, which makes a lot of sense given that he is associated with 'Death' itself or can even control it.
We Persona 3 in this world as well... Everything is a Persona reference

Since it seems like Firefly is alive, we still don't really know what happens with people that get attacked by "Death" (unless I missed a clue or an explanation in the 2.1 quest somewhere).

There's more to it than that even.13 represents Death in Tarot Cards. 4 also represents Death in Japanese. 13x4 = 52, which is also how many cards there are in a deck. It's all pretty clever.
I think that's why Acheron reacted the way she did to the list, she might've figured it out. She has been wandering all over Penacony, after all, she may have run into him at some point.
And it makes sense that it's a list of suspects, considering that the actual culprit shares a characteristic with each of them.

Also, remember that moment when Sunday was educating Aventurine about "the proper look"? How to wear a tie, shirt etc. Kinda weird saying all that to such a fancy ahh looking guy 🤔
the line about "Enigmata" wasnt said bcs it was smth updated after the release of 2.1. It was left out before, so the subtitle was fixed afterwards
It explains why I didn't remembered seeing this line, I did the quest day 1 and didn't have it. It makes the character even more interesting

the translation in 2.1 is not very accurate, especially in those about Aventurine's birthplace. In EN you are unable to find out the history (and names) of Sigonian is a reference to Romany

Aventurine's "disappearance" and the plot twist at the end were honestly the best parts I experienced in penacony's story quest, and as for Aventurine, it made a very strong impression on me because it showed me that no matter who they are, they will always be human
I hope he’s coming back, but they brilliantly made it just unclear enough on if Aventurine has died or not

Plus, he instead tries to make it rain (with chips) on Penacony with his attack.
oh my god, and that one scene with sparkle "plus it doesnt rain here, so its suited for someone with my outfit" or something like that!
- herta space ship just felt like a tutorial stage, as it should.
- belobog felt like a living breathing city, the boss fight is memorable.
- xianju luofu felt like meh (too many tour guide and nothing for the story, yeah DHIL is cool but that's it)
- penacony felt like a peak!
I agree, the Xianzhou Luofu felt like a mess compared to Belobog and Penacony. Even the character interactions and development weren't anywhere on par, which is sad because I think a lot of the characters were great. But it felt too much like a filler episode rather then part of the plot.

@@LycanMOON Sumeru definitely was not peak. it was better than inazuma but it just dragged ooooon and ooooon. Chapter 2 and 6 in Sumeru were really cool but aside from that it just felt unnecessarily bloated, just like the area itself. Fontaine is where it's been at. The fortress of meropide arc is really the only thing that dragged on and felt unnecessary but this is a Hoyo game story we're talking about. It's always gonna have "that one arc"
Honestly I liked the Xianzhou Loufu more than Belebog. Mostly because of the story between Jing Yuan, Jingliu, Dan Heng, and Blade

@@SpartanSouls256don't get me wrong, stelaron hunter who bring a little bit main plot and high five quintets who on the side story is great, but the xianzhou luofu main focus story itself is a mess. I felt like i always met a tour guide all the time from tingyun, shusang, yukong, qinque, fuxuan, etc, they didn't felt organically involved in the story except as our escort/guide etc.
Shaoji really cooked even further with this. And we still have about 1-2 patch left before this Arc's over

@@renatomarelli4199 Aventurine in the first 2 days of 2.1 was harder to beat, they nerfed him because a lot of people weren't doing the mechanic properly and lost the fight. It worked properly before the nerf, but you needed to get the dps, supports that have ults covering the whole board or else when he did his all or nothing thing you usually ended up with some of them dead, and if they didn't die then you ended up with not enough energy for having a ult to use in the next all or nothing. I beat him easily with Kafka, BS, Pela and Luocha, after I failed with Acheron, SW, Pela and Gepard, and don't get me wrong, in any other place in the game the Acheron team would always come ahead of the Kafka one...
Aventurine hate is undeserved imo, this poor boy is just in over his head, like actually the most relatable character running around aimlessly trying to get some stressful project done. I thought the MC was going to suffer, but it was actually just Aventurine lmao

From what I know, it is the path of questioning and doubting everything, it's in the word enigma. This path is embodiment of purposefully spread misinformation meme. Hence the story of 2.1.

I bet Trailblazers is having mixed feelings about all this. After everything that’s happening in Penacony, the lies and secret, and the deaths he/she witnessed, seeing Firefly in front of him/her, alive and well, must’ve been the worst.

Feeling sad that she's a Stellaron Hunter.
Shocked to see that she's Sam all along.
Confused on thinking that their time together was set up, that their first encounter was part of Elio's 'script.'
And mad that she’s deceived him/her, not to mention being traumatized after seeing her 'death.'
If I were in the MC, it would be exactly how I would feel if I saw her right now.

The TB doesn't know this, but I don't think the time they spent at the start of 2.0 was just part of the script. Sam said that their whole script was to "get the express to look into stuff at Penacony", and they did not need to spend anywhere near as much time with the TB to accomplish that. Especially since during the entire of 2.1, every time we see Sam/Firefly, it's them saying that they tried to go against the script (to help out more), but failed. Again though, obviously TB doesn't know this. The way TB sees the Stellaron Hunters is also kinda weird, given how many dialogue options to be chill with them TB gets (plus just casually texting them pics of cute animals that look like them). The rest is still perfectly valid though, and you can see some of TB's updated thoughts if you go back to the Firefly hideout spot after finishing 2.1.
I'm not trying to cope here, but.
Elio's scripts for Sam were always simple, and this time in Penacony was to "make The Nameless investigates Watchmaker's Legacy". Firefly encounter Trailblazee was definitely part of the plan, but her feeling towards the Trailblazer during the whole time wasn't part of the plan. This was said during Sam's meeting with Acheron.
you can know what trailblazer is thinking if you visit back to Firefly's secret base.
Honestly what is more intresting why firefly was so nice to TB at first place ?, like why you would be so intrested and nice to a person you never meet yourself, only hear from other stellaron hunters, i dont think becouse of simple attraction

So i Know we all are in on the whole TB having 0 arcana - fool, and gallagher 13. But rewatching this I realised Sam mentions trying 11 times to reach us, sam also talks about only having the skills to defeat 'villains'... the 11th arcana is justice.
The reason Sunday didn't say "minion of Enigmata" is because Eng. translation f*cked up. They didn't _have_ the line in the text. In every other language it was:
"Tell me I'm wrong, follower/minion/servant of Enigmata."
while English translation was:
"Tell me I'm wrong."
And people immediately called them out on it, 'cause it's an important piece of lore that was just deleted. So they shadow-fixed it xD

They also had Acheron say she is wanted by the IPC, where CN she said was _once_ wanted by the IPC.
SAM saying they were instructed by Elio get _all_ of the Express to track down the legacy, but in CN it was only to get the Express to join in on tracking down the legacy. No specific focus on "all".
Ratio calling Aventurine "featherless bird" when he's called a "plucked peacock", something he refers to him as every time.

3:29:52 masterful play Aventurine bluffing that you were using the topaz and jade stone to cover up the aventurine stone but in actuality you were using the aventurine stone to distract from the fact you successful smuggled in the jade and topaz stone into penacony.
Some of Acheron’s text is probably red bc she’s a self annihilator who are at risk of fading, and the man who was talking to her said she still had some color but not much, so her red form and her words being red must be all the color she has left in this monochrome world
and she says she will reach nihility’s end before her color runs out, so before she fades away
One of the traits I least expected from Aventurine was being Family man.
Truly someone blessed by Gaiathra Triclops, he who is blessed by the harmony and touched by the family of billions
While I've enjoyed a lot of the characters in Honkai Star Rail, I've only felt a major connection to four of them: Dan Heng during the Luofu, Huohuo, Firefly, and now Aventurine. I hope he manages to cheat this death so I can talk to him again.
Also, small detail, but all the people that Aventurine talks to when he's giving away gems are NPCs that you could use clockwork on to get a sticker and/or sidequest since 2.0. All of their responses to Aventurine's questions are informed by their personalities that you could learn about by doing clockwork. It really makes the world feel more real.
Ratio wishing the best and safety for Aventurine really hits me.
If you go back to the stage after the quest, you can see the carnage left behind by Acheron :D
The fact that “If I can stop one heart from breaking” plays right after the quest finishes makes it feel like it’s the ending song to an anime episode-
Enigmata is essentially the Aeon of Misinformation man fr fr.
btw, at the end, adventurine was talking about robin, he only needed to get "killed like the silver haierd girl" (because sam/firefly are still in normal penacony, not the land of exile) to reach the same place she is in, thats why he asked sparkle if she relly meant robin when she told him to befriend a mute, if adventurine can come back from that place alive or not, thats the last part of his gamble, just like acheron said, "your gamble is not over yet" he will one day reunite with his family, because all mortals eventually die, but not yet
Aventurine went to being a must pull to me after finishing the Quest.

I find it’s very poetic at the end that Aventurine’s cornerstone stops glowing. It’s signifies a chapter in his life ending.
And then a new glow of the Amber corner stone his new beginning. I mean he calls himself the Amber lord, the IPC raise a glass to the Amber lord and his levelling trace materials are Amber.
The Amber Lord is Qlipoth, Aeon of Preservation. I think Adventurine was just playing up the part of IPC representative when he said it was all for them. I am also under the impression it's the jade stone that started to glow since Topaz told Jade that her stone was delivered to the Family as planned.
I do very much agree though that the glow of the adventurine stone stopping could signify his end as "Adventurine" and maybe he'll just be Kakavasha from now.
The implication of a cornerstone stopping glowing is that the owner has died, since their very will is imbued within it. For all intents and purposes, Aventurine, Kakavasha, died. He simply has no intention of staying that way, is all. But until he does succeed, *if* he succeeds, he is dead.
And as the other reply has said, the Amber Lord is the title of Qlipoth, the Aeon that the IPC follows.
After doing this quest, aventurine became my favourite character, i liked him before but this quest made him lovable for literally everyone. I like him so much that im not pulling for acheron instead saving for him
I feel like day one aventurine enjoyers are feeling the same level of satisfaction as us day one Furina enthusiasts

I disliked him at the beginning, I disliked him more as the story progressed, I hated his boss fight (not a whale, had hard time against him), story was convoluted and complex like everything else and couldn't sympathize for him. End result, I really don't care for him and hope he doesn't come back.

The number 13 refers to the 13th card in the Tarot deck. = 'Death'.
We can't know for sure, but it sure is sus.
Since the subtitle said "Thirteen", not "13" or "thirteen"
but I heard another people say its how long has he being created (using the 52 people traits)

Mina did the Aventurine boss fight first try. The power of E6 Acheron...
I mean I did with Kafka and it was pretty easy pre nerf as well. No crazy eidolons and kafka is missing her signature lc as well. Fu Xuan is just too good for the story comfort.
I did alr w/ Argenti, RM, HH and TY. The key lies in the weaknesses, that's pretty much it, and I guess luck as well since I was lucky against the dice

Honestly the biggest welcome surprises of this quest was that Aventurine is now Baby Girl.

And in her trailer where she lists off the heresher swords, she says "we long since strode into THEIR shadow"
Capitalized pronouns refer to aeons and strangely the goddess that the avgins worshipped(I hope she's an actual being).
Acheron was not referring to the edict edges, sovereigns or kami when she said THEIR shadow. "THEIR shadow" refers to IX. She says this at the end when she defeated the kami by destroying the end but she saw that it was all for nothing. She realized that they were already doomed from the beginning cuz the black sun of izumu was actually just IX. That's when she became a self-annihilator and forged the naught blade and attacked IX. And then IX erased everything, leaving no traces of izumu except for acheron.

The light of his stone fading doesn't mean he's dead, when Acheron used that attack she cut everything, the dream AND his connection to the Preservation which means the stone has no power anymore. He's essentially in a limbo like place where he can make it out alive but it won't be easy.
I love the fact that, if you were paying close attention, you could have guessed that he had three cornerstones. Since the symbol on the Jade one is a clove, but Aventurine uses a spade as his symbol. They even focus on the spade on his bag, in that scene, just to drive it home. But most people wouldn't even think of that since they did such a good job of convincing us that there would be no way for him to ither have a third cornerstone, or to have anticipated that happening.
Edit, the Jade symbol might be a diamond, looking at Jade's design. But still, point stands.
Btw if you guys return to the "stage" where we fought Adventurine one can see the after effects of Acherons Slash and its so cool
3:38:21 There seemed to be a translation/localization error before: The EN localizer (mistakenly) left out the "minion of Enigmata" part and the line only read "Tell me I'm wrong", and that was probably the script the EN va initially received when they recoreded it. There was quite a backlash on the fact that this piece of key information was omitted in translation, and looks like the game dev was able to fix the subtitle later. However, it looks like they couldn't let the EN va redo the line in time since the patch is already released, hence leaving the second part of that line unvoiced. Maybe they will fix the voice line in a later update. You never know.

So Mina. There's some localisation issues at the big reveal involving Galagher for the Eng dub. In the JP and CN version, Sunday refers to Gallagher as a "Minion of thr Enigmata". This was explicitly said in the dialogue in the two other dubs, but not in EN. Typical localisation fuck ups
For lore context, the Path of Enigmata and it's Aeon, Mythus are the opposite of Nous the Erudition.
If those who walk the Path of Erudition seek to unravel the truth of the universe and gain more knowledge, those of the Enigmata seek to obscure knowledge.
For example, the History Fictionologists, go around the universe and infiltrate large organisations to sabotage or just outright destroy historical records, while the Riddlers seek to utterly ruin language and linguistics

Sunday used death to control Adventurine but it was destined to fail since death was Adventurine's goal. The threat of death means nothing to someone looking to die. What Adventurine did was put doubt into Penacony, while some may see as just a mere rumor the doubt remains and if left alone can become fear, making people doubt the power of the Family and the safety of the dream.
It doesnt work because Aventurine don't know about Gallagher and the watchmaker faction and the true Nature of Sunday but with his actions he give us time to prepare for the true fight and obtain the watchmaker legacy

On a separate note, good god is the music beautiful, it highlights the scenes perfectly. Specifically "All The Sad Tales," which plays a couple times but my favorites are when it plays at 2:31:52 and 3:25:37, in my mind it's functionally Kakavasha's theme.

Pepeshis are whole adults. I don't know why half have child voices, but Hoyo clarified multiple times throughout 2.0 and 2.1 that the Pepeshi people are similar to those with dwarfism. They just, unfortunately, decided to use the child model for all Pepeshi. You had to really pay attention when the Pepeshi were being introduced, but seriously; there are Pepeshi bankers, news reporters, salespeople, and guards.
