Greg Hutchinson: Insanely unique sounds and incredible finesse and flow around the kit Benny Green: Just keeps getting better and better as he gets older Christian McBride: literally just the best bass player alive
Swing on Swing, dipped in Swing, slathered in Swing, drizzled in Swing, simmered in Swing, seared in Swing, and what comes out is pure, unadulterated....SWANG, SWANG, SWANG BABEEEE!!!!!!!!
When folks talk about young cats being the next big drummer, the next buddy rich drummer, or a swinging drummer, please compare it to this first. This is how it is done; this is the level that needs to be met; otherwise, it's a High School talent show; Hutch is crushing it as always, happy to see this. Thank you for posting it...A+++
I wish i could be there and feel the vibes, emotions, energy with a quality coffee. Enjoying the old golden times that i never had the chance to be born in those times.
Saw Benny playing solo last night (6/17) at the Musical Instruments Museum in Phoenix.....Absolutely first class.....the audience LOVED him...Great show, great playing...
Ray was a great guy. I got to hang with him back in the 70’s after a seminar he and Joe Pass did in S Cal. He was nice enough to let me play his bass, which I believe, was a German bass from the late 1700’s. What a sound!
Aaaaw man, so good. The class is through the roof. Rhythm, feel, phrasing -- it's here in premium. Hutchinson's got to be one of my top 3 all time favourite drummers. Whew!
Love this! Ray Brown Trio was my first big name jazz concert, Gregory had just joined the trio, Benny on piano. It was a formative day for me, seeing these three amazing musicians. I would have loved to have seen this concert live!
I had a beer and chat with Ray Brown backstage at the Catalina Bar and Grill in LA where he was playing with his trio back in '98 I think it was. I can't think of a finer trio to celebrate his amazing legacy. Christian McBride, I would sell my soul for that huge tone!
Christian McBride is badass bassist, he was student of Ray Brown and so was Bassist Ben Wolfe who played with Harry Connick Jr. Ray Brown influence me too be a Double Upright Bassist. I curious to what strings Christian McBride is using? Thomastik Spircore Weich Medium or light gage or D' Addario Helicore Strings and etc.
Give those fellas a big plate of St. Louis ribs! Quite nice. Thanks for the Jazz! Christian's tone is so fat. Like Ray! Benny is killin' as always. Hutch too...is that a 16" bass drum?

I was sitting just off screen behind Benny, and it was one of the most swinging experiences of my life!
three extremely gifted jazz players to say the least ... extraordinary chemistry
Ray Brown is smiling down from Heaven - Amen!

Perfectly said sir!👍
Amen
Dawg Hutch is 54 years old, older than Christian McBride
Benny Green just gets better and better as he ages ….
My only dispute is that he doesn’t age! But he does sure get better which is crazy considering how freakishly good he is

Tribute to my favorite Jazz artist by 3 of my favorite jazz artists. Doesn't get much better than this unless Ray could have joined them. 👍
Greg switched from Sakae to Yamaha to mapex to pearl. I think his message is: It's not the drum it's the drummer that matter.. ;)
My God - Hutch is on fire, as usual! Milestones!!

PREACH ON BROTHAS!!! *gets up and starts doing a Monk dance*
Saw them in Milan, it was mental... it was like listening to three musicians controlled by a single brain. Hutch amazed me particularly.
Thank you Benny for all your great playing and hard swinging. I am always a big fan of your musicality. You are a big part of my jazz collection.
I remember the earlier Benny Green albums. This brings it full circle for me! So swingin'!!
観たかったライブ! from Japan.

Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿🖤
What a fantastic tribute concert by Benny, Christian and Gregory!!!
I have performed with Ray's son, a friend of mine. His dad was my favorite bass player of all time.
Such a high caliber of musicianship and artistry.
Now this is Jazz from three of the best musicians to keep it alive and well. Thanks gentlemen!

This is it. So glad to hear a band play like this. Real jazz. Fantastic crew. Idk what everyone else is doing… dilla beats 😂
God Bless Hutch , his style is incomparable (with the exception of Wash) in drums and Fashion
You've never heard about a "guy" named "Tain" I guess...
But hey, God bless Hutch indeed, I'm a huge fan !!!
He is a incredible drummer!!

Wowza, the power trio defined.
i had the pleasure of attending the 2-18-22 performance(friday night). it was out of sight.
No one plays the drums like Hutch
Agree
Nobody
I would hope that would be the case. Developing one’s own voice, or sound is a difficult thing to do; emulation is much easier.
One of the best concerts I have seen. Ruddy brilliant😊
