OK OMG I just checked my tuner on his range on that last note. C#7 to a D8 and my tuner stopped at that point. I think its broke. I feel its higher by one octave. lol
It's a C#7 to D8, yes. 5 seconds with vibrato. Di pulled that outta nowhere while I sound like a dying rat trying to hit D6 lol.

I just watched a video of Dimash withdrawing from The World's Greatest singing competition show. I liked him before, but I have HUGE respect for this man now. He has integrity as well as talent! If you watch the video of the two ladies who were in the audience and witnessed the entire scenario (as well as the Kazakh judge), it was VERY MUCH different than what was broadcast. If you know the full story, you can't help but have super-mad respect for Dimash.

I’ve been waiting for this one 😎 . Someone posted they played this on their TV and bc their mom was asleep opted out of surround sound she used the normal speaker . ( internal?)
When he hit that note a red line appeared the tv stopped working and she had to contact the place she bought the tv from. They weren’t buying that this could happen . When he hit that note she got a “ red line” on the tv.
People who came to check it out stated it wasn’t possible , she showed them and they were “...okay then ! That did it !”

It was not to impress. He already impresses. He missed the note he wanted to sing, so he wanted to make up for missing it. I think he did what he wanted--he certainly made up for missing a note.

Someone tried to explain why he did that in the following manner: just before that note, something failed. Dimash was shaking his microphone but no sound came out. So to make up for it, he offered us another note, just another octave higher. Spur of the moment decision!

I don't think he's ever told anyone his actual range, he just flat out refuses 😅 All we have to go on is what we've heard so far. I think we just got "lucky" here, for whatever reason. I hope you enjoyed that. For some reason, Dimash gets a great sense of satisfaction from doing the silent whistle. For some reason, it just makes him HAPPY. He's always real happy when it happens. Also, about the people, he knows how very much it means to the fans, when they can go home and say that they actually touched him, or he touched them. I can't help thinking of it as a blessing, and one that people consider well worth having. They do, in a way, worship him. He does NOT hold himself up as divine, or anything like that. He just absolutely loves to make them happy, to make his concert a wonderful experience, and to communicate with them on as personal a level as possible. I know he's aware of how intensely he's loved, and he wants his fans to know that he loves them (us) back, to the extent that one person can love that many people.
By the way, my sister and I both started watching your reactions in the same week, but when we were trying to tell each other about you (by phone) we neither of us could think of your name. Anyway, we enjoy your reactions very much. You make us feel like you guide us in a very kindly way, and we appreciate it.

Olly, it is so much fun watching Dimash's reactions with you :) Love it and i will love to continue this journey with you :) You have almost 3 years to catch up :) Waiting for seeing Dimash's concerts with you also (I guess just yesterday he had another solo concert in Sankt Petersburg in Russia :) ) He did hit D8 in this song which sounds like dog whistle frequency, before that nothing came out of his microphone, but I read someone wrote that maybe he hit a note just too high for humans to hear and next he sang LOWER so people could hear it (who knows? like others told you he NEVER revealed his true range). I also heaprd a vocal coach who said that after that D8 sound that he emitted he should have not spoken for 3 days at least and he finished the song like nothing happend afterwards and had no problem with talking :) Maybe he is an alien, afterwards there is Baikonur space station in Kazakhstan, where space shuttles are going into space :) Try Olimpico, please, for another surprise :) Love from Poland - Karolina

Wolf Rock he doesn’t do that often, he’s done it just few times and that’s exactly because of what you said, to entertain his dears. The thing is that he doesn’t wanna share with us the real high note that he’s able to touch, he said in his interviews it’s a secret and will never be reviled. Well, I also think he doesn’t whistle cause is unnecessary. He prefers to focus on his alien high notes and he does it really well cause we’re blown away every time. Actually it came by mistake he was going for a G7# and it did not come out, notice him shaking the microphone, so he rebooted and that D8 came out, some said it measured E8 but we couldn't hear that level....I don't know so I just claim what I can prove and he definitely hit a D8
To my knowledge the D8 note wasn't intentional. He tried to sing a G7 note (I think), but it didn't come out. So he felt like he has to pay that in some form so he went even higher.
OMG is why he did it, and you can't say that OMG is not entertaining! Reportefly, that was a D8, which is just below the Guinness record for the highest note sung by a male (E8).

In this age of the singer/songwriter expressing his opinions through music, when someone says that a person wrote a song, it implies that they wrote the music and lyrics. Dimash didn't write the lyrics - they were written by the poet/lyricist father of one of Dimash's boyhood friends. He is Oral Baisengir, who also wrote the lyrics to "My Swan", which Dimash also sings. There is a Facebook page where he describes Dimash coming over to his house with the music (at 19). Of course, they would have discussed the general theme of the lyrics beforehand.
Wolf, in my opinion, even with no musical purpose, Dimash got the right decision to make this D8, went from 5 to 6 octaves, deservedly. He studied, trained for 20 years and still trains for hours, has to show his skills. Leave it saved for what ?? He was so criticized in the past, heard jokes of prejudice about his soprano voice in a singing contest, smiled and thanked him. I saw the video on youtube. When he was studying, they wanted him to train only Baritono's voice. I'm glad Dimash persisted, trained his three voices, because that's what makes him rare, special. His mother said in an interview that when he was younger, well before adolescence, he would cry and say he didn't want to sing, like a girl. When the soprano theater choir did not reach the ideal note in a play, Dimash was called upon to do. However, it does not reveal how many octaves it can reach.
