- They made me a killer (1946) Film noir crime drama. Robert Lowery stars with Barbara Britton in this fast paced 1940's crime film. After the passing of his brother, a man decides to drive across the country. After giving a pretty woman a ride he finds himself forced at gun point to be the driver in a bank robbery. During the crime another innocent man is involved and killed in the escape. After a high-speed chase, the car crashes and Durling is knocked out. The crooks get away, the police arrest Durling and refuse to believe that he isn't one of the robbers. What is the poor sap going to do? Broken Trout Movies

Glad to post it @bebop. I am a big fan of Robert Lowery and feel he never really got a chance to play in a big budget movie.

This is the story of a poor sap that gets taken for a ride, even though he's the one driving. The sap in question picks up this broad who wants to buy his car, but its gotta be fast. And we soon learn why its gotta be fast, because the sap is about to unknowingly commit a crime. Good B movie in the film noir style. ★★★

Let me start out by saying I love film noir but this one was so bad it was good he's trying to sell his hot rod so he takes a guy for a ride who just has to run into the bank for a minute then he flips the dying man on the floor to try to get away this movie is hilarious

Very dark copy of unusual noir film. Interesting male lead keeps getting punched up but is lucky enough to have gorgeous Britton stand by him all the way. Hmmm...
Liked watching this but quite a few things made no sense. Why uncuff him to talk to the dying guy in hospital? That was stupid. Then they didn't check the students leaving operating at all. And the bad guys agree to let him hang out with them like old friends after he threatened to kill them? Okay then.
