    it was so much simpler in the 1990s. I had a 3-park pass my 2nd time at Disney World in April of 1994 and going from park to park was super easy, just show your pass and away you went no matter what time it was. Food was moderately cheap (we were each given $20 and we had some to spare by the end of the day after eating twice). Things are so much different now and so much more expensive.

    I always thought it was a bit of a rip-off to close Disney early for a special ticketed event, but charge full price for the day. Disney is essentially selling your time to someone else and pocketing the extra cash.

    • @basicleighdisney5643
      @basicleighdisney5643 Год назад +42

      That's why it's important to check the calendars and avoid attending parks that are closing early for those events. However, there ARE benefits to going to that park anyway. They're normally less crowded during the regular park hours because people who don't have a park hopper ticket or annual pass generally don't attend those shorter hour days so it can be easier to get more done in those shortened hours. It's all about perspective and good planning.

    • @Chaotic_Pixie
      @Chaotic_Pixie Год назад +14

      Those are great parks to start a day with and then park hop to another park and finish the day out there. Say, magic kingdom is closing early. @@s.p.3738 Private events are a different thing, and I'm not quite sure if Disney has a cutoff time for those. Party events or the after hours events should have set dates several months in advance, although they could potentially add dates on for after hours without that much notice. But the parties at MK have set dates by spring when tickets go on sale. Sometimes you can look at a prior calendar year to see which days of the weeks had Disney events because they usually don't change those from year to year.

    I worked at Disney World in the early 80’s. It was much simpler then. Everyone had a passport. No fast pass. No (or very few) reservations were required. Everyone was on a level playing field. Now you have to be rich just to enter the parks! The more money you spend, and it’s off to the front of the line. Disney has always been about making money, but it has gotten out of control. Between the cost and the rules, that along with all the fond memories I have, I choose never to go back.

    • @daylightdaylight6612
      @daylightdaylight6612 9 месяцев назад

      Yes in the 80's there was no fast pass, you had 2 lines,now you have 1 line fast pass or similar and 1 normal line, so now the capacity has been halved.
      Previously, for example, tthere was a capacity of 100 people per 15 minutes (2 lines: 2x 50 people) now due to the splitting of the lines into fast pass (or whatever it may be called) and a normal line, one only has a half capacity of 50 people in the normal line and a minimum number of people in the fast lane, in short, the capacity per 15 minutes is much less than before.

You have paid a huge amount of money and your goal is to do as many things as possible in as short of a time as possible or you will be wasting your money. At least, that is what it feels like. I see A.J. recommending taking a break away from the parks in the middle of the day to re-charge. Do you realize how expensive that would be? Figure $200 for a single day ticket, and that you will be in the parks for 10 hours. That is $20 an hour. Say you are a family of 4. Say you take a 2 hour break in the middle of the day. That is 8 hours of break time @ $20/hour = $160.00. You are paying $80 per hour to swim at the pool in your hotel that you are already paying $200 per day to stay at. Disney vacations are lots of fun, but they are never relaxing (unless you have unlimited time & money). Of course, that is never an excuse for rudeness whatsoever, and I agree you should ALWAYS be pleasant to the cast members and other guests.

    Case in point, the princesses' castle when viewed from about 30' up looks WEIRD because the upper floors are compacted.

Im kinda surprised they are just implementing this.

I told him I'd buy him a ticket but I didn't want to go. I don't like crowds, I don't like rides, and just had no desire to visit the Park.
    This video only confirms my desire never to visit a Disney Park.

    I am excited about the new (old) parking restrictions. I use a handicap spot and every day i see people park in BLT HC spots and walk to the magic kingdom. There are on 13 HC spots for that whole lot. I use to complain but once they stopped giving out the parking papers (the paper that said your name and what resort you were staying at) i was told they don't care and whomever can park there...even those not staying at BLT.

Besides that, electronics are electronics and an unprepared jolt or splash could mean snap, crackle, and even pop. Leave the ride videos to the pros. Even less a fan of “get your food first” mentality. I get the point but with a family of 7 with various food allergies, we’re not fans of risking getting our drinks sloshed on whoever volunteers to fill up the table nor is there a point to all of us clogging up a line when dad can grab a table while mom is in line with 1 or 2 teenagers standing off to the side until the order is ready.

      They aren't really a problem. As a certified SCUBA diver, when it comes to plastics, bags and straws are the LEAST of our worries. At the bottom of most dive sites, the floor is riddled with discarded fishing LINE and NETTING. The Parking is really a issue and it was enforced before the pandemic. But guests felt so entitled to parking that they would hold up the traffic line arguing with security and demand to see a supervisor if you told them they could not park on the resort. I can't wait to see if they actually enforce the clothing rule. I saw a woman walking around with just a fishnet top. A couple of weeks ago a woman was walking in Universal with nothing butt a tutu skirt on. It has gotten ridiculous. AJ the camera extensions are banned as well. Somebody clocked another guest over the head with one. Still I see RUclipsrs using them. A Seagull snatched a giant cookie out of a guest hand and flew away.
