In case anyone is interested I bought the Wolfgang Puk steam pressure oven 4 years ago, imported from USA at A$500, and have not used my regular gas oven since then. As advertised by the makers, a 14lb turkey cooks in 1 hour with a baked brown exterior. I hate cooking preparation and gourmet cooking in general but now I get to cook quickly and simply without having to buy supermarket quick junk meals. My cooking time for vegies with meat is approx. 15mins......vegies are straight from the freezer, meat too, no messing about with fresh vegie storage, preparation and wastage......cooks everything you can name.
And for those of you who want stand-alone steam, plus convection & grill items, that will augment your existing oven, there is the Cuisinart steam oven (small, but great at $200 Canadian), and if you want microwave as well as convection, Panasonic's large combi oven is only around $1000 CAD right now. I've owned both, and they're both fantastic. The Panasonic has a large capacity, no turntable, and is fully programmable, and defrosts as well, but if you want to try steam + convection / broiling, the Cuisinart is just amazing. For or two people, the Panasonic can replace an "regular" oven, and doesn't need to be built-in (though there is a trim kit available). Will they last as long as a Thermador? Probably not, but I can buy 10 Cuisinarts for a fraction of the price of any of the ovens mentioned in the video :)
Jamie Roberts I own one of Cuisinart steam oven, it’s good but too small. I am interested in the Panasonic combi. I’ve seem them on TV, but don’t know where I can buy it.

I am considering buying a combination steam oven but I have a question I am hoping you will be able to help me with, I like to make my meals in large batches and to vacuum seal and then freeze them such as large serves of Lasagne, can you safely and fairly quickly defrost and reheat a meal such as a large serve of lasagne directly from the freezer? My fridge tends to keep items that were frozen, frozen for a very long period of time before defrosting meaning I have to get out a meal several days ahead which is not exactly convenient.
I'm a huge fan of steam ovens. The food that came out of these 3 are awesome. However, unless you want to hook up a meile to a stable and clean water supply, I suggest a countertop combi for 1/10 of the price that taste just as good and works much better. The major problem with those 3 is that the water reservoir is NOT accessible while steaming. If you forgot to top up or for some odd reason you need to steam for a long time, you are screwed.
We bought the Ikea Kulinarisk steam oven, not huge, but really, really good. Very happy with it, top up water without opening oven, about 20% of what a Miele cost. Use it ALL the time and love it!

A high end microwave is $300, a decent oven including cooking top is $1500, what you are recommending is $5000 for just the steam oven. Whatever you are smoking…pass it along

I have used both the Miele and Wolf. While Wolf is excellent, Miele is still better. The technology makes it really easy to use.
okay, the 3 best steamer: miele, gaggenau and vzug

Which model exactly for the cuisinart steam countertop oven ?
What's the difference between just having water in a saucepan in the oven and put it to 100 °C and having a steam oven?
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Agree! Clear and detailed explanation without useless word! Well done transcription! Really Thx a lot! 💕The team of Designer Appliances!
Good video..
What about the Gaggenau? The reliability concerns of all the brands listed worry me, but they do seem easier to use.
Thermador is made by gaggenau
#2, less oils. LOL I'm on the keto diet and use a ton of oils. A head of broccoli is good for 2-3 TBSP of ghee.
Have the wolf. Steam. Use everyday. Have a gas oven and use it once a mo nth

Not true. You can refill the wolf without stopping.
Plumbing a Miele is fairly simple.

$300 is high end? Lol brokie
As nice as these are, many of them do not have the best reliability ratings.
All except the three they discuss do have among the best reliability!
Where did you find the reliability ratings? Currently orienting myself.
Ikea kulinarisk
All vitamins disappear while heating even it takes long or very short .
That’s why I eat a raw turkey every day.
some vitamins are degraded, but cooking can also make some nutrients more readily available. To say all vitamins disappear is just inaccurate nonsense
