Designed by former United Western Recorders tech Jim Cunningham as an improvement to the EMT 140, the Ecoplate II is one of the single most important pieces of equipment in our studio. Even as digital technology improves by leaps and bounds it has still proven difficult for emulations to capture the complex acoustic properties of plate reverbs.
Measuring 68” L x 10” W x 44” H the Ecoplate II can be physically demanding in a home studio environment. They often need to be decoupled as well: either hung from the ceiling or resting on a dolly/platform. When combined with the original "dry" signal, the sound of a plate reverb adds depth, body, and a little bit of magic to any mix.

Have you ever had an issue with a slightly too high noise floor in there? The hum inside the my machine is a little loud and of course it’s getting picked up, along with some high hiss
