Was looking forward to this but honestly I couldn't see a thing! All to dark and out of focus, a few 'arty' shots are fine but I just couldn't get a sense of the space as a whole at all.
hattie2525 I agree. Very disappointed after all the reno talk, special insta account you created for the house too.. what about Stef doing a proper house update and reno before and after with his camera? I remember him filming them contractors and thought it was for a great reveal video!
It's SO beautiful. But wanted to say how refreshing that it wasnt 100% immaculately tidy, it's how we all live and I think things like house tours and magazines put us under pressure to have a show home all the time! x
I was sooooooo looking forward to this!! I lovee your taste but would have loved to see "more".. I did not like the filming :( you could never see the floors directly or a lot of things you described in general.. like the jute rug in the kidsroom. I also checked if I was watching the video in hq, did not like the blurryness But you are the ones who know about cameras and stuff and it's your video to look back at! I really loved what I did see and am soo soo happy for your family!! The lights are all so stunning! Saw them on your insta before and fell in lovee. Greetings from Austria
Yea have to agree. The filming was really disconcerting and it was actually hard to see a lot of things. The stairway and all of the upstairs was way too dark; couldn't actually see the colors of anything. Also did not like the in and out of focus and the odd zoom ins and zoom outs to still shots. It was just not a great style for a house tour imo. For a artistic vlog, maybe, but not a house tour where people actually want to see things.

Steff also did a fab job with all the lighting under shelves and in cupboards! I will definitely be watching this again when I one day have a place of my own.

Absolutely love everything you’ve done with the house! It all looks great. My favorite thing about the video was that you didn’t make everything look perfect before hand. I’m sure you picked up here and there but showing what your house actually looks like, not just the perfect styled completely clean version. A few dishes in the sink, some laundry on the floor, etc. I guess I just really relate to the realness. Life with kids means putting stuff in random places all the time to keep it away from their tiny terror hands and not always having every dish in the whole house clean. So often when I watch a house tour I’m just wondering the entire time if it’s always that clean and how the hell they do it or how long it took someone to make it look that way. So I guess, thanks for not being perfect, lol. Anyways, I’ve rambled on about your dirty dishes for long enough now, beautiful home and so happy you guys are in your own space. You seem so pleased and happy with it.

Really impressive renovation. Great use of reclaimed/second hand/ giving something old a new fuction or look. I am a fan of wood and yours is beautifully coordinated with the colour schemes.My fave , the neutral wood plank above the firepace with the colour of the walls surrounding it. Totally interesting video. Only problem for me, was a lot of in and out of focussing. Wishing the family a lot of joy&love in and out of your house.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your home Hannah your decor is just my taste and I've always wanted the boiling water tap but it was too expensive and out of our budget. The dark kitchen cabinets are stunning!!!! I have those IKEA lamps as well but in black. Thanks for the video

It was kinda difficult to watch with all the "artsy" camera angles. Showing a new frame every few seconds of the same thing and going in and out of focus made it harder to see what you were trying to show. I couldn't make it through the video.
Wow, they're possibly charging over the odds for concrete floor now?! Stunned... for our next place, we wanted to opt for that for easy clean up, it looks modern and it's usually used as a cheaper alternative. I wonder if it's due to your location?

An island is something on it's own, in your kitchen you have a sideboard as it's attached to the wall. Still absolutely gorgeous though! Beautiful colour palette throughout the house.

We got a really nice simple fire guard from b&q a few years back! Theres a lot of horrible ones out there, but we found one that suits a victorian/modern house nicely :)

Could you advise on what the biggest unexpected costs where during your process? And also, when looking at houses, how did you plan and set out a budget for the work you wanted done? Assuming plumbing and electrics are always a big factor in any renovation, but what about other areas?

Your house is absolutely beautiful. We too put in a new log burner instead of the fire place, but on ours you can put a kettle..or a bowl with water and essential oils, mostly. We used most of our renovatig budget for the new heating system (solar and pellet) and did lots of work ourselves. That means we'll be renovating for years to come. Not much free time.
