Gildedguy in story 3: I'm fine with not making money, I just want to be loved and inspire others *Hands grabs his shoulder* Green-Eyed Cowboy: But what about the *STONKS!!!!*
Thanks Gilded, may not have been subscribed in the earlier days but even without a youtube account I used to binge watch and re-watch your stuff on Stickpage, its been a great part of my childhood. I got a slush invaders feeling from 3:55 I don't know if that was on purpose or just coincidence. Thanks again for the heart, I'll continue to watch your videos for as long as I'm alive.
In my opinion the armour is litteraly what guilded guy is imagine if you favorite thing or the only thing protecting you or giving you hope is gets busted in a fight you never even wanted to be in and the only way to fix it is monet (your broke) guilded guys story is suppose to represent what an animator goes through hard work for little reward but it's something that you love to do so you gotta keep trucking
I like how despite being a powerful warrior, we still see our hero go through every day life. He pays his taxes, he cleans his armor, he kill a very corrupt imagination with a revolver, despite already having a magical sword and magical crystal, he even did a little show.
The corrupt imagination is actually his own greed that took over him after well you see how his life is and the magic crystal is his jade pen as the pen is powered by the jade star AKA the green star that you see in the sky
@weebandgaminginc.7593 I think it's actually in universe called the penta star, the number 5 seems to be somewhat significant in universe, now as for gildedguy's powers I'm not sure the star actually exists or is the source of his powers, I think gildedguy is a reality manipulator without direct control, his sword is his making, the pen was made from his discarded drawings, the armour as well, and most flagrantly when he made mar's tower become gilded
His traditional one, a mix of 2D and 3D, a graphic novel style, a stickfight one, references to other animators styles, a hand drawn style and back to his traditional.
Chaoz 73 i dont know either, i put it like this Guilded guy starts of by seeing that some of his flowers are off, dead, already gone, and decides to buy new ones because he plans to sell them in the future, when he is walking to that he realizes how really poor he is, and either a ghost let him see the things he could be or how the ghost was OR he just imagines itself in a cowboy like situation where he has ritches and has all the girls to itself, he is so focused in what he sees that he is daydreaming, in his dream he casually jumps animation to animation including the chosen one, jaiden animations i think and much more, as he wishes to go to the place he always wanted to go, the green star, but in his daydreaming he almost gets himself killed if it was because of the beautiful golden heart boy that saved him and either the ghost possesses his body or he just really sees what it would be like if that cowboy he imagined really was him, he realizes that he can’t be that and either returns to his body or he just comes back to reality, the ghost part that i have been saying is because of the final scene with the kid actually sees the green eyed cowboy
Chaoz 73 our brave hero realizes how many things he doesn’t have. He goes into day dreams of wanting to be rich, get all the girls, or be a real hero. By the end of it this darker side of him becomes somewhat real and takes hold of him. Gilded Guy stops him and recognizes how bad these thoughts are. I think he goes on vacation to reconnect with his roots, since he was a fighter before he settled.
@@ethanrajczak3041 Yeah, I thought that the Cowboy represented GG's greed or desire or something similar, and then these thoughts eventually overtake him and GG has to snap out of it, but I am confused of why he was going to hurt the boy when he became "possessed", and why his golden armor rusted and fell apart and...became coins? Last question I have is related to the Cowboy being seen one last time by the boy. I THINK it means that GG'S desire still exists and will continue to haunt him, but that GG will have to keep it under control.
Fun Fact: Gildedguy has been wearing the same boots since Story #0. You can tell that the silver-colored boots are old pieced of armor since those pieces were worn in Story #0
Quite a few bits of armor he wears are the same, assuming his golden gloves are also the same steel/silver. And the rest turns out to be copper.. befitting the guy who can't make much money and lives in essentially a wood shack
This animation makes so much more sense after watching Story #0. Gilded is starting to regret his choice to leave, and thats manifested into something BA-AAD.
indeed its envy or darkness i think, afther all story 0 its kinda the beguining i hope we saw story 7 with some plot twister but until then the 0 and 2 are my favorites so far
I feel like this animation helped me understand some of the symbolism from the previous animation(s) better, especially regarding the star and Gildedguy's paintbrush-thing. From what I can tell, it seems that the star is supposed to represent the dreams and aspirations of both GG and Michael (the creator). In the previous animation, it seems plausible that Bog was supposed to represent fears of some kind. Maybe fear of isolation and its effects, fear of never making it big, fear of wasting life away on projects that may not receive the deserved recognition, or perhaps even a combination of them. Regardless, when facing these fears (facing Bog), GG always looked towards the star for inspiration--for the light in the darkness. His other source of light was his paintbrush--his literal tool through which he creates art. It makes sense that GG seemed to be guided by his paintbrush towards the star and that they are the same color; the paintbrush, representing Michael's craft, is the means by which he hopes to achieve his dreams. In the previous animation, even after GG struggles with all his might to destroy his fears (Bog), Bog still manages to come back and start taking hold of him. He drags GG to the ground, and GG is no longer able to see the light of the star. His paintbrush is symbolically dragged to the ground, representing the fear(s) stopping him from creating more art. It is only when GG learns to accept these fears within himself that he is able to overcome them. It's actually a very beautiful representation of the struggle of artists of various crafts throughout the world. Your paintbrush could be an actual paintbrush, but it could also be a guitar, a writing software, or even your own body. Going back to the most recent animation, these symbols are still present, and clearer than ever. If you look at the Green-eyed-cowboy's cape and hat (I'll call him GEC for short), you'll see that there are a bunch of green stars in them. In this animation, GG tackles the jealousy of others who have things that he doesn't--things he dreams of achieving. The various stars in the cape and hat represent these various desires and aspirations for success, wealth, fame, etc, that GG and Michael see in other people, such as other RUclips animators, and Penny's boyfriend. The reason that GEC seizes GG's paintbrush before shooting off towards the green star on piles of money is because the paintbrush is the means through which GG/the artist hopes to achieve his dreams. In the end however, GG is quite literally brought down to earth by Lilian. It seems likely to me that Lilian is supposed to represent GG's fans, especially young artists (on a side note, perhaps the flowers that Lilian sells represents the work of even smaller artists who look up to Michael). Although he may never achieve the success he hopes for (yet), GG learns to find joy in helping and inspiring the little guy--the fans of Michael who always appreciate the masterpieces he puts out and all the work and thought that goes into them. Basement Busk, GG vs Bog, and GG + GEC, all seem to point to the general theme of an under-appreciated (and underpaid) artist learning to accept where he is and find joy both in his craft and in the people who appreciate all that goes into it. And I just want to let you know that we do appreciate it, Michael. I personally go back and watch things in slow motion to pick apart all the little details you throw in. Every frame is a work of art. Just a couple more things about the recent animation. I thought the whole things was amazing, and there were multiple parts that literally gave me goosebumps. Going to the animation techniques, I have a few things to say. I would definitely say that this was a "higher quality" of animation. But, to me, something about the animation made it feel harder for the eyes to follow that in previous works, especially when revisiting prior animations. I think I may have figured out why. The background had much more prominence and detail than previous works. GG vs Fry - Background is literally just white. GG vs Jade - Background is generally very dark. While there are plenty of decorations around the castle, they usually aren't usually of much importance. Basement Busk - Background is usually very dark. GG vs Bog - Background is dark gray, black and purple. GG vs GEC - Background is all sorts of colors, especially in the town. The town is very colorful, eye catching, and filled with details and contrasting colors. There is plenty to look at. This is also true in the internal GEC scenes. In essence, everything is just more complex and it took a bit of will-power to not constantly pause to look at everything on my first watch of the animation. That being said, this complexity was likely Michael's intention. He's left plenty of eye-candy and easter eggs for us to find through multiple watch-throughs. In the end, while I may seem critical, I do NOT actually find this a big deal at all. It was still quite easy to follow what was going on in each scene. I am just pointing a difference between this animation and previous animations that I noticed. I personally will enjoy going back and looking at all the details scene by scene. Aside from that, there was so much to praise regarding animation. The use of 3D animation was just awesome. The reference to the old-school style of RHG gave me nostalgia. Power Meep did a great job as always, and you picked another fantastic song for this animation. The shading was very high quality. Something that I feel should be considered, however, is whether to pursue high quality vs refined in the future. This animation definitely looked less "cartoony" than previous animations due to the high quality of shading. You mentioned in a post on your website that this "doubles the shading workload." I personally don't feel like this is worth it for you, but I have no animation experience and no real right to say that at all! I personally like the more cartoony look (two tone vs three) because of its easiness to follow, but I also like how COOL the three-tone looked. Both look amazing at the end of the day, and it was VERY cool to see the three-tone-lighting in this one. In the end, you should create what you want to create. But I probably don't have to tell you that (and I have no right to tell you that either. You're the artist, not me). This animation was amazing Michael. All of your animations are. And I can't wait to see what the future holds for you. I hope you achieve your dreams, and that this job can bring you enough income to fully live off of and fund those dreams. Sincerely, EJ
@@kierancc9095 I just have a deep appreciation for Michael's craft. It's high-quality, very meaningful, unbelievably time-consuming, and yet greatly underappreciated (though his fanbase is certainly growing!). I figure that after the countless hours he dedicates to each masterpiece, he may like to see that there are people who really appreciate the work that goes into each one. I'm also a pretty fast typer :)
@@ejyohannan4708 I love your comment. As someone who used to make long comments like these, I think it's great to analyze art. It can help the artist you're talking about, as well as other aspiring artists or critics. It can be discouraging when you only get replies stating something obvious like "is long", but there are always those who actually read them and appreciate them! I don't really have anything to add to your comment though, you explained everything pretty thoroughly! I'm glad there's amazing works like Gildedguy's, and people like you willing to analyze just how, and why, it's so amazing.
I am actually inspired by his art , the fight of GG is the fight of anyone who is after his dreams , his fears are mine , but he goes after them just like I must do , I do not want to die doing something that I Should be doing, I want to die doing what I love and truly living by it, and many people will not have this luxury, but I do so I got to take it.
It is wonderful how meaningful Gildedguy's stories are. Each of them tell the tales of the struggle of being an artisit, creative person, or just a normal human being in general. Story 1#: Ok, just a fight between Fry and Gildedguy Story 2#: A story of respecting rules and people. He broke the rules to defeat Jade, but eventually respected her, hiving her his golden glove. Story 3#: Creating and entertaining not for the sake of money, but because it is your passion, that is where TRUE money comes from. This what Penny taught Gildedguy Story 4#: Fighting and conquering fear and depression. Most specifically, conquering the fear of your creations and good work not being recognized, the fear of your creations, your peace and very being being destroyed and finding the light in thise tough situations (In that case, the star) Bog was the embodiment of that fear and the Gildedguy inside Gildedguy was also a great symbol. Story 5#: Fighting envy and the pleasures of the world. To reject the temptation of money, lust and fame. He wanted to be like the famous youtubers or influencers. He wanted to be liked and known by everyone and he wanted to be rich like many youtubers. But in the end, he found peace and defeated his ego by his good will to help the weak, to be a role model to the little and humble, and to create out of his own heart. (Him helping the little bee couple to have a home. Before that, the pleasures of the world was destroying him and the bee's home, the flower) So yeah, my interpretation of all of his stories. Really wish one day I can get some money become a patreon for your outstanding work! Thank you Micheal...
Joan Omari, I own this channel, to share my opinion with powerful youtubers, yet I have did nothing. Your advice, is exactly what I’ve been looking for.
Does anyone else really enjoy how the Green eyed Cowboy isn't inherently bad? I think the cowboy represents Gildedguy's ambitions and dreams but it can quickly become a bad thing when the view becomes toxic and he starts seeing everything and everyone else as objects or means to an end so he can achieve his end goal(aka the star). But because GG was able to stop his envy consumed body by using his cowboy really shows that the cowboy can either be good or bad depending on what he chooses to do with it.
Tbh I could even go as far as to se the Green eyed cowboy as a whole separate character he would be a good guy but hed probably be brash and reckless and be a "heroic" individual as in he would sometimes act stupidly and without a plan to look like a hero that was the vibe I got from him
That side of the cowboy was being controlled by Gildedguy's envy. As it showed later that Gildedguy used the Cowboy to regain control over his body when the green eyed monster was still piloting his body.
Just wanted to say again man, You're one of the most dedicated, hardworking, consistent, and passionate animators I know. It's crazy how you just keep doing what you wanna do and you've made a huge following all thanks to your own passion to animate. I really hope you'll keep it up cus it's really rare that we have people like you to inspire the next gen of animators who want to express their own stories. You yourself keep evolving with new techniques like the use of 3D and even throwing it back to doing a good ol fashion stick figure fight! Anyway I'm just glad you wandered into our community! GOOD STUFF MAN
Seeing his vision of riches and fame are different from both stories in story 0 it was JUST the money and company, but here it also blends with his vision as the hero he always wanted, he probably wanted both but at the time, ha wanted to go out so much more
This animation is amazing. If I were to analyze this, I think its mostly about dealing with our deepest desires and the consequences it might bring if we were to follow them. In this case, Gildedguy, being a poor man, he wants many things. Hence why he fantasizes him as being the star, the man who runs things and the center of attention. Further shown with him being, "The Green Eyed Cowboy", his fantasy that he retreats back to whenever he sees things around him that makes him jealous, because only he can fantasize things of what he doesn't have, which causes him to daydream. When he gotten kicked out of his body, it shows an even deeper meaning. If he DID become "The Green Eyed Cowboy", he is afraid that everything that he is, would just disappear, essentially killing his true self, hence the image of the cowboy stabbing "The Golden Knight" AKA Gilded guy. However, he soon realizes that deep down he didn't really wanted all that, so instead he "defeated" his jealousy, which is personified as "The Green Eyed Cowboy", he soon realizes his higher calling, that instead of wishing for something he doesn't have, he must appreciate for what he currently has. Life isn't about having the things you don't have, to be what you cannot be, its about being appreciative of what you are and what you have as of now. However, of course, its in our nature to want things, hence why he still have that "Green Eyed Cowboy" following him. Gildedguy may appreciate himself and what he has now a lot more, but it can't stop him from thinking about the things he want to have.
Dude, this speech is so meaningfull, is answer all my questions about "glidedguy & the green eyes cowboy" You diserve more like 👍👍👍 And thanks for comment this,it really help me understand this story.
My interpretation: It starts off a Gildedguy going to the market to get flowers for his garden. When he arrives, he sees all of these rich and prosperous towns, while realizing that GH is poor. And thus, becomes envious and starts daydreaming. Enter the Green-Eyed Cowboy. The GEC is envy, greed, and inflated ego. GG starts imagining himself as this alter-ego who can get anything he wants: money, fame, girls, etc. When he stops daydreaming and sees what’s around him in reality, he’s irritated at the fact that he is poor and has les than everyone else. GG starts to take a walk around town. He slowly starts to see the good things around him and slowly appreciates the things he has at the moment. When he walks by the love restaurant (which I think is an amazing representation of the entire stick figure community showing appreciation and kindness towards each other, which is why you can see noticeable stick figures like Hanif, Shadowrose, and others) he sees Penny in the restaurant talking to someone else. When Penny notices, GG starts to get embarrassed and develops feelings of inadequacy. “Am I good enough? Does Penny appreciate ME?” He fantasizes again, and TGEC shows up in his daydreams. It shows himself as able to get all the riches and notoriety again, but this time, in a much more toxic view. When he gets all the girls, he views the as nothing more than objects to hook up with and leave behind for another object, just to fuel his own ego and dilutions. When GG envisions TGEC with Penny, they both are affected by greed and material things as they both don a cowboy aesthetic and ride of into the sunset. In the dream, a Bog cloud is shown, which might mean that his past trauma might play a role in his feelings of inadequacy. After snapping out of it, GG becomes more irritated, while simultaneously holding up traffic, showing that his envious thought cloud his thinking. He runs away from the town to get away from his jealous thinking (shown by TGEC showing up on signs and billboards while chasing GG) all while the kid is following GG. As GG shows up at the RHG Tournament, that becomes the last blow. He invisions himself as The Green Eyed Cowboy walking up to the RHG Dojo on a horse in an old western movie. Because that’s all everything is to TGEC. A movie in which he always gets what he wants, whenever he wants. When TGEC arrives, his horse is lying on the ground and turns grey. The horse just DIED. But TGEC doesn’t care. When he walks in, he meets all the RHG legends (YoYo, FLLFFL, Andre, Shuriken, Umbrella, Drifts, Fry, Jomm, and more). He sees Penny tied up to the ceiling. The Green Eyed Cowboy wreaks havoc to all of the stick figures as if they are nothing. And yes, ALL of them. Including Penny. During his complete stylistic destruction of the dojo, he ends up killing Penny, the person he was supposed to save, as shown by her turning grey. Remember the horse? The same applies here. She is dead. But when TGEC realizes, all he does is smile as a single tear falls down his face, showing how he has nothing left to care about but his own fame and glory. The daydream finishes with TGEC fighting of the remaining RHG members (Yoyo, FLLFFL, and Andre). All while Gildedguy is daydreaming the kid from before has caught up with him. But before he catches up, it shows the Green Eyed Cowboy killing Gildedguy. It shows that Gildedguy is no longer envisioning himself as the Greed Eyed Cowboy. He IS the Green Eyed Cowboy. Greed has completely taken over Gildedguy. He looks at the green star in the sky, which represents the ultimate goal. The Green Eyed Cowboy takes over and flies to the green star. When he goes, he starts to change in animation. First he shows up in Alan Becker’s “Animator vs Animation” series. Then he shows up as an overly-saturated pop-culture figure. And then finally, The Green Eyed Cowboy shows up in the entire RUclips animation community. It shows himself animated in the styles of other popular RUclips story time animators (JaidenAnimations, SomethingElseYt, Odd1sout, Domics, CircleToonsHD, etc). This is all represented as TGEC’s greedy and self serving delusions to get to the top. “I’m so awesome and famous, that if I’m featured in all of these popular people’s works that gets millions of views and attention, it will get me even MORE famous!” As the Green Eyed Cowboy is nearing the green star, showing his near distance towards ultimate god status, the kid pulls GG from out of the road to avoid getting hit. TGEC falls from the green star all the way back to Earth in the golden suit, permanently grounding him in REALITY. GG has finally stopped daydreaming, but something seems wrong. GG’s eyes don’t appear in the suit when he wakes up. This to me shows that GG fees empty. Absolutely worthless. His ego has been shattered and broken, ash shown by TGEC’s red mask falling out of the golden helmet. The kid then leads him home. When the kid and GG walk home, you’ll start to notice the environments and drawings in the scene deteriorate. Environments have much less detail looks cheaper in comparison to everything else the animation has shown. I think this was done with the intention of showing that Gildedguy sees everything around him as worthless. He doesn’t care about anything anymore, not even about what the kid has to show to him. His ego has been fractured so badly, that GG feels that everything around him, including himself is meaningless and has no value. As the kid puts a flower inside of the pot and presents it to Gildedguy, he starts acting threatening. Many people thought that GG was going to kill the kid. I think he was coming after the flower. GG must have despised the kid’s attempts at trying to value anything, even something as simple as a flower. He sees the flower as just a pathetic flower, and nothing else. A green aura is emanating from Gildedguy, showing that his ego is turning toxic and spiteful. But he soon comes back to reality and stops viewing things in a hopeless light. He drops his sword and takes off his helmet as his armor crumbles, showing his ego diminishing. GG has finally come to terms with himself and learns to fully appreciate what he has and the people that care about him. Although his situation isn’t perfect, it’s good enough for him. The End. I might be wrong on some things, but feel free to tell me in the comments. This rant was long, but was worth it. I really enjoyed this short, and I hope your work gets more support.
I can relate to GG in this story a bit. Feeling jealousy at your supposed "inferiority" to those around you, always imagining yourself as some roguish and powerful version of yourself which has no time for inconsequential problems like those. Feelings anyone can have, especially after something hits you hard and you don't know how to deal with it. It's... all relatable. But it's nice to see that those you care about, who in turn care about you, can pull you back from those feelings. They remind you that you are loved and can help you through the bad times, reminding you that you are worth more than you think you are, and that you are much more capable at what you do than you give yourself credit for.
“On Vacation” and the *coconutz tree* Freaking amazing and gorgeous! I love all the references to other works. Thank you for this wonderful piece of art ^_^
Love it! And I love this self discovery journey that Gilded Guy has been on throughout this series! Makes me self-reflect on who I am. Absolutely astonishing work!
Gildedguy is back! I have to be honest, this one isn't as good as Gildedguy vs Bog..........but that is not saying that this was bad by any stretch of the means. It's just that his last video set a bar so damn high, it was questionable if he could ever top it. That said, this video does have things that GG vs Bog didn't have. For one, this video has FAR better animation, with what looked to be CGI rendering. Also, this video tries to tell more of a story than just have GG face off against someone. And because of all that, I was still smiling all the way through. GG may not have set a new bar to top, but it's obvious he tried some new things out, and it all worked out in the end.
This is genuinely one of my favorite stories from Gilded, that wanting of something more and the fantasies of having what you don't have/the envy of seeing those with what you want is an incredibly relatable feeling. The moment where Gilded finally stops his own envy from harming others is amazing. Honestly you could write an entire essay on this video alone
Always a step forward with you! A true sign of animation growth and new skills where obtained for this. Loved the ride this cartoon has taken you in. And now, to pick it appart!! :D
Alright, so after having a hell of a marathon with these animations and rediscovering my love for this little corner of online animation, I have a bit of headcanon to share regarding the overarching story here. It'll be a long one, so be warned and stand by for spoilers and LOTS of speculation... I believe that the entire plot here consists of Gilded coming to grips with his purpose in life, with that purpose being the reason why pretty much every one of the stick-figure avatars featured in Hyun's Dojo are made by their creators: to fight evil and challenge rivals in glorious combat. To set the stage, notice that the scarab-like emblem seen on the bell-tower in the city at 1:00 is the same emblem seen all around the keep Gilded visited in Story 2: the emblem of the Nemesis clan, a group of extremely powerful warriors who have apparently conquered territory and are ruling it peacefully, with Jade as their leader. Thing is, Gilded matched Jade in combat. Sure, he resorted to breaking her prized displays to knock her off-guard, but in light of the battle in Story 2 up to that point, they were VERY evenly matched. Despite this, he was still escorted out and pursued by the Nemesis clan members, though there were probably no hard feelings. This event, I think, is what had Gilded try to walk away from his warrior origins and try to live a domestic life; a life that defied his instincts, but one that he desired nonetheless, as he felt guilty for his performance in the Nemesis Keep and for provoking the leader that allowed the land to thrive in peace. After this, in Story 3, we see his first attempts at permeating this new state of living. He won't go out and fight for bounties anymore, so in order to collect gold to repair his armor with (a sign that he still isn't too hot on the idea of a provincial life; if he was, he wouldn't find the need to condition his armor, though he might also keep wearing it for sentimental reasons or because it's his trademark), he has to resort to means he's never experienced before: performance. Thanks to Penny and Lilian, he figures it out, and is rendered at the height of his happiness. But then comes Story 4. Still very willing and determined to find peaceful living from the last story, Gilded goes out into the woods to meditate, to try and calm his warrior's instincts and resolve himself to a different lifestyle. Instead, his magic sword gives him a nightmarish premonition, and suddenly he is thrust into what is perhaps the single most grueling and dangerous battle he's ever been in: a battle with a being whose sole purpose is to ruin, corrupt, and destroy. A battle with a truly evil being. Because of this (and thanks to his already being on edge from his sword's premonition) he has no qualms with jumping into combat with Bog, and even legitimately tries to kill him, as he feels no guilt in killing pure evil. However, as we all know, Bog cannot be killed: only outlasted. And so Gilded does just that. After Bog infiltrates his psyche and attempts to corrupt him, the fighting spirit he tried so hard to repress under the pretense that it would be for his own good manifests at maximum strength, rendering null Bog's assault. Without that spirit, Gilded would be dead. Yet another husk for the demonic being called Bog to do with as it wished. He knows this. ...Which is why at the beginning of Story 5, he seems so disgruntled. He calmed down from his fight with Bog at the end of Story 4, but now the doubts start coming in. Ever since learning of Bog's existence and being rendered VERY paranoid because of it (as shown by the fact that the forests surrounding the city all seem to be made of Bog whenever Gilded looks at it), he starts to question himself. There is still evil lurking in this world, and he knows he is meant to fight them, but now his reasons for denying this meaning become thinner and thinner as his stir-craze starts manifesting as the Green-Eyed Cowboy. I'd say that G.E.C is actually a characterization of several parts of Gilded: his stir-craze, yes, but also his fighting spirit, now fully active since its reawakening in Story 4, his want for the glory that battle afforded him, as shown in G.E.C's rampant greed and envy, as well as his need for adventure, shown in the fact that G.E.C's ultimate endeavor was to reach his special star, the sign of which his magic pen bears. G.E.C is an unhealthy form given to Gilded's repression; it starts off manageable as just a fit of envying the wealthy, as we all do, but then he sees Penny, a woman he felt kindred too in Story 3, dating another man. His repression spirals out of control because of this, causing G.E.C to fully manifest as an extra-dimensional derivative of his psyche that hijacks his physical form after almost getting him killed, rendering his cognizance nomadic. Having been kicked out of his own body by a self-imposed corruption of the same fighting spirit that saved his life in Story 4, Gilded is given no choice but to call upon it once again to save Lilian from whatever the hell was about to be done to him by G.E.C. In that scene, the real Gilded takes the form of G.E.C, signifying that they are one and the same. Again, the reason that all this happened is (by my understanding) because Gilded tried to repress his instincts, his fighting spirit, in favor of living in obscurity after being burned by the events of Story 2. However, after settling the consequences of the G.E.C's rampage, he leaves his hovel on the outskirts of the city, abandoning his attempts at a peaceful life. If he wouldn't go to the fight, than the fight would come to him, be it physically or mentally. And so, at the end of Story 5, Gilded is shown walking off into unclaimed lands, with a pack on his back filled with warrior's memorabilia. At last, he has let himself go. He has stopped trying to be what he isn't, and is now going off to do what he was made to do: fight evil and challenge rivals in glorious combat. The traffic seems to have stopped in this comment section, but hey. To anyone who sees this, what do you think? Does it sound plausible? Thanks for reading my ramblings; all these animations are so good, I just couldn't help myself.
Man great job on the writing! Now I finally know what’s up with Glide guy or with penny and the hole meaning! But 1 thing I do know is that I hope we get to see more of the same character’s we all loved! Penny and ... Oof I forgot the little kid in the mask’s name But you know what mean. And again Great job on writing the story and the comment!
Could also be him facing the seven deadly sins. I mean probably not cuz I can't figure out of bog is wrath and of G. E. C. Is either greed pride (it could be both)
This is the best animation I've seen since your last animation. Honestly every video blows me away, the crazy amount of details and smoothness is out of this world and it's all filled with so much joy and genuine care that is hard to find nowadays on youtube. Also I get a little fan-girl moment every time I see my clan's logo or a Jade reference in there, I really appreciate those little details. Feel free to message me if you plan on doing something with that in the future, I can't wait to see what your story has for us in the future. 10/10

Camila Cuevas I agree All of the animations he makes always blows us away and it’s cool how he makes references about other animators around youtube We’re all looking forward to what he has in store for his story next it’s a 10/10 for me awell
I do wanna see the Green Eyed Cowboy make appearances later on too. Very interesting twist of personality to play upon for the character, especially when others around him aren’t expecting the sudden change from Unyielding Knight to “It’s High Noon”. Not sure if it’s affecting his outer behavior too, or if it’s only in his head.
_OXGamer59_ revolver he uses one gun and pen knife also he doesn’t have the red sword or the pen one symbolizes flexibility the other is hope but he replaces the pen with the cape making hope into overconfidence and cockiness
A lot of this makes more sense knowing where he came from in Gildedguy Gets Up. Primarily the desire for money and to share his search for constellation, now knowing that it seems most others don't see it. Even his armor having a visor in his fantasy. That's how he imagined himself back than. And, on a completely different note, I get that the golden armor is kinda his thing, and from an animating standpoint having him all one color probably makes things easier, but in these ending scenes of him running around town, I find I rather like the mismatch colored armor more than the solid gold, anyone else? The bronze as a primary with silver accents looks rather nice
With the release of EP #0 we know now he was offered all the money in the world at the sacrifices of his freedom and imagination. Now going back to watch this I’m thinking it’s not only the money he’s after, but the adventure towards getting it he’s interested in
Can we all just appriciate that at every intro 0:00, its actually different because when you look at the paper, it has a different character telling what the story is going to be. Talk about attention to detail
From what I get from these, Gildy's relationships with other characters are: Chef: Neutral as long as bacon is cooked right. Jade: Friendly Rival, possible love interest. Lillian: surigate father/son, teacher/student. Penny: Former love interest, best friend. Bog: Enemy. G.E.C: Past self. Note these are simple fan canons, please don't hang me!
@@chill29 agreed at first I thought it's just him fighting against being greedy but after story 0 as u say it is regret and been having second thoughts on leaving his first job
I love how the animation style changes 4 times in this animation. 1st style: Guildedguy's classic, smooth animation that began in story #2 2nd style: A sort of rough, chalk board style that we have never seen Guildedguy do before. 3rd style: The classic small detail, thin stick figure, smooth, rage cage style animation we all know and love. 4th style: A nice little slideshow animation, but faster and more detailed than most. Edit: Sorry, 5. It changes back to the usual style Guildedguy uses at the end.
In the GG's speedpaint of the episodes soon to come I noticed flowers in the wave of money GEC was on. And it reminded me of the flowers that Lillian gave to GG. I think the flowers in this whole story line is an example of success, or achievments, or support. This might give another reason why GEC was angry at Lillian. Maybe the flower growing ment that Lillian will be very succesful someday. I should also mention that this story also talks about how giving to people can make you feel rich in happiness, as we can see Lillian selling his flowers to other people.
Same man, watching the armor put itself back together in the bog fight and this mansion sequence physically hurt me too. Not to mention the fact that this all had to be in sync with the music too
Me too! God One of my favorite character’s I see was Penny and that little kid. I’ll never forget them! Man I hope they still exist in the future seeing Glide guy’s appearance like the good old days! ❤️ 👋
I know people have noticed how the Green-eyed Bandit killed penny in the Dojo and only reacted by smiling and shedding a tear, but I've also noticed that Hyun/Yoyo's smile disappears into an angry sneer when he notices the Bandit's reaction to killing Penny. Not like he's angry about losing his hostage or his men, but disgusted at his complete disregard at what his greed led to.
I love the representation of the green star as a symbol of dreams. It was what brought gilded guy to seek out his new lifestyle, a want to follow his dreams. But his desire for fame and his need for things like money to fuel his journey let things like greed take over and create dreams like the one of the green eyed cowboy. A persona of money, power, fame, and even a object of desire. But even in this darker dream the green star is STILL the symbol of his dreams. Despite it bein a deeper dark shade of green, it still drives him forward. I might be reaching, but christ are these animations and story infecting.
If you know the history behind Jesse James the scene where Gilded gets stabbed in the back only to later shoot his attacker in the same spot becomes a lot more meaningful
Just a bald guy the Jesse James in history was a 19th century outlaw, who was shot in the back with a shotgun by a man he invited into his own house for dinner. Thus the gun and knife imagery for betrayal.
One thing I love about gildedguy animations is the're watchablility(finding easter eggs, observing the beautiful animation frame by frame ,and different meanings behind his videos. When I first saw it, I thought "oh what another cool animation by gildedguy" and didn't get no meaning from it and only a fun experience. Going back to re watching it. From what I got out of it was being envious and what it would feel like to have the things that you desire most(wealth, women, and being considered a threat to those who's already at the top which is nothing wrong with that, just friendly competition). I also still didn't get the ending until I started to read the comments(also another plus, seeing others perspective to help you connect the dots or give you a different meaning), so now the ending has a new meaning for me as to not let that side of you fully consume you, but to learn how to manage it because no matter how big you get, there's always someone bigger and to focus on yourself and use that envy side as motivation to achieve your dreams, because if you can see it, then that's another step closer to achieving it.
I love how Gildedguy's fantasy of being legendary/historical figure takes the form of the one of the stick figure animations of old, it's such a cool and clever touch.
The details in this are amazing even after watching this several times I never noticed that a little hello was snuck in at 4:46 if you look at the bottom left in what I believe would called be the Layers
I've watched this three times between RUclips and newgrounds, and I've gotta say you have a nack for story telling and combining great music with quality animation.

I like how despite being a powerful warrior, we still see our hero go through every day life. He pays his taxes, he cleans his armor, he kill a very corrupt imagination with a revolver, despite already having a magical sword and magical crystal, he even did a little show.
The corrupt imagination is actually his own greed that took over him after well you see how his life is and the magic crystal is his jade pen as the pen is powered by the jade star

Gilded Guy: fights depression, lust, greed and envy

Yeah, that was the ONLY thing I didn't like about this: The story is REALLY confusing to me.
@@chaoz7370 I'm halfway through but the song pretty much put that half in perspective
Chaoz 73 i dont know either, i put it like this
Guilded guy starts of by seeing that some of his flowers are off, dead, already gone, and decides to buy new ones because he plans to sell them in the future, when he is walking to that he realizes how really poor he is, and either a ghost let him see the things he could be or how the ghost was OR he just imagines itself in a cowboy like situation where he has ritches and has all the girls to itself, he is so focused in what he sees that he is daydreaming, in his dream he casually jumps animation to animation including the chosen one, jaiden animations i think and much more, as he wishes to go to the place he always wanted to go, the green star, but in his daydreaming he almost gets himself killed if it was because of the beautiful golden heart boy that saved him and either the ghost possesses his body or he just really sees what it would be like if that cowboy he imagined really was him, he realizes that he can’t be that and either returns to his body or he just comes back to reality, the ghost part that i have been saying is because of the final scene with the kid actually sees the green eyed cowboy
I’ll be honest, whenever I see this, I think he’s fighting his anti-self within.

Quite a few bits of armor he wears are the same, assuming his golden gloves are also the same steel/silver. And the rest turns out to be copper.. befitting the guy who can't make much money and lives in essentially a wood shack

@@jingusflorpus4274 Oh yeah, was it... Glidedguy?
Sincerely,
EJ

I don't really have anything to add to your comment though, you explained everything pretty thoroughly! I'm glad there's amazing works like Gildedguy's, and people like you willing to analyze just how, and why, it's so amazing.
Read the whole thing, I agree completely
I am actually inspired by his art , the fight of GG is the fight of anyone who is after his dreams , his fears are mine , but he goes after them just like I must do , I do not want to die doing something that I Should be doing, I want to die doing what I love and truly living by it, and many people will not have this luxury, but I do so I got to take it.
It is wonderful how meaningful Gildedguy's stories are. Each of them tell the tales of the struggle of being an artisit, creative person, or just a normal human being in general.
Story 1#: Ok, just a fight between Fry and Gildedguy
Story 2#: A story of respecting rules and people. He broke the rules to defeat Jade, but eventually respected her, hiving her his golden glove.
Story 3#: Creating and entertaining not for the sake of money, but because it is your passion, that is where TRUE money comes from. This what Penny taught Gildedguy
Story 4#: Fighting and conquering fear and depression.
Before that, the pleasures of the world was destroying him and the bee's home, the flower)

Tbh I could even go as far as to se the Green eyed cowboy as a whole separate character he would be a good guy but hed probably be brash and reckless and be a "heroic" individual as in he would sometimes act stupidly and without a plan to look like a hero that was the vibe I got from him
Did he not just stab gilded guy in the back-
That side of the cowboy was being controlled by Gildedguy's envy. As it showed later that Gildedguy used the Cowboy to regain control over his body when the green eyed monster was still piloting his body.

ZOIR YOO
Fr bro, everything connects to it when you watch in a cronological way
This animation is amazing.

My interpretation:
It starts off a Gildedguy going to the market to get flowers for his garden.
“I’m so awesome and famous, that if I’m featured in all of these popular people’s works that gets millions of views and attention, it will get me even MORE famous!”
As the Green Eyed Cowboy is nearing the green star, showing his near distance towards ultimate god status, the kid pulls GG from out of the road to avoid getting hit.

Wow, you mentioned details that I didn't even notice. Like when he dropped a tear when he accidentally killed Penny. Bravo man.
I noticed there were a lot of dumb spelling errors. Whoops
Mine was the same as yours, The Green Eyed Cowboy is Gilded guy fueled by Greed. Its not a Separate Character, its Gilded Guy Himself.
okay thanks to you i could explain what my brother dont understanded about the video

Freaking amazing and gorgeous!

Thanks

haha. Wow... Not gonna lie, didn't see this comment last time but since I have I'm just chuckling to myself on how humorous and a mood that is
A lot of this makes more sense knowing where he came from in Gildedguy Gets Up.

I love how the animation style changes 4 times in this animation.
1st style: Guildedguy's classic, smooth animation that began in story #2
2nd style: A sort of rough, chalk board style that we have never seen Guildedguy do before.

Ikr i read the whole of jesse james' story after watching this, that gun part was so similar
What’s the importance of it?
Just a bald guy the Jesse James in history was a 19th century outlaw, who was shot in the back with a shotgun by a man he invited into his own house for dinner. Thus the gun and knife imagery for betrayal.
Quirky Qwerty thx
I only just processed that the lyrics actually mention Jesse James.
I just realised that bee in the beginning commited suicide.

@@anonymousdude8184 Dude, he still felt the pain, that means the bumblebee stung him through the gloves.
@TriggerMan woah that reply STUNG (srsly though thanks for letting me know)
One thing I love about gildedguy animations is the're watchablility(finding easter eggs, observing the beautiful animation frame by frame ,and different meanings behind his videos.
Ah gilded indeed, even the heroic guy has his own temptations. Very interesting to see how they seem to actually manifest in reality.
I always enjoy the style experiments inside these animations.
I have a joke, in green-eyed cowboy it's gread-eyed cowboy.
I love how Gildedguy's fantasy of being legendary/historical figure takes the form of the one of the stick figure animations of old, it's such a cool and clever touch.
La mejor música que he escuchado en toda mi vida 😍😍😍😍🤣🤣🤣🤣😃😃😃😃
10:16 Gotta love how GG ducks under the speech bubble. Also did GG just daydream so hard he hallucinated a spirit into existence?
I think it’s more of a jojo stand type of deal

The details in this are amazing even after watching this several times I never noticed that a little hello was snuck in at 4:46 if you look at the bottom left in what I believe would called be the Layers
And that's how Gilded got Multiple Personality Disorder.
Jajajajaja good one
Well that’s true but he usually gets through it
This is how Gilded guy became Diavolo
@@monsterwolf4086
I don't think shooting yourself in the back of the chest is a constructive way to get through Multiple Personality Disorder.
@@kevChess Say that to the MC of Persona 3 XD
I loved that bit where he challenged the Dojo, brings back memories. That teaser for those duels is quite exciting
I noticed that in this particular video you've been swaping animation style.
Interesting.
This was a collaboration project
Man Story #0 really sheds a lot of light on whats happening in this story, makes far more sense now
I've watched this three times between RUclips and newgrounds, and I've gotta say you have a nack for story telling and combining great music with quality animation.
I agree, I mean I haven't seen this good animation from a stick figure artist. But Michael does great at it.
