    I started using the 3 step moisture method 4 months ago and I see a smol difference in my skin. Before I didn't use it, my skin would produce no oil whatsoever. But now when I do use it, I do produce a bit of oil throughout the day, idk if that's a good sign, but someone who has dry skin, Im so happy I actually get the experience of blotting hehe.

      Dude yes, I just watched Sofia richies, after watching a few of Olenas and immediately was aware of the product marketing, especially being influenced by Sofia herself, that she nor we really need. I had an epiphany yesterday that throughout my life, especially around the age of 14 & 17, and especially in the age of instagram, I’ve been subconsciously programmed to believe my skin needs “perfecting” and I need to take massive action in keeping my skin simply TOLERABLE, and you know what? It’s just not true! My skin is fucking FINE, and perfect and I completely understand why It Does break out when it does because I’m pouring chemicals on it that completely imbalance it, albeit mostly natural products, dousing my skin in apple cider vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, whatever it may be, is absolute nonsense. I have “given up” skin products if you will

    • @OlenaBeley
      @OlenaBeley  4 года назад +2

      M G I agree that we’ve been brainwashed into “perfecting” our skin instead of supporting it - it’s an organ like all the others, after all. ❤️

    😬 used clays masks, oils and lemons. Thank God I didn't spend money on essential oils. I wanted to but spending so much for 5-10mls was just ridiculous. I've still not found a good moisturizer without oils in them though. The ones I've found are too light 😣. Still searching for a good one.
    And soaps! I hated taking baths because my whole body was itchy every time I took a bath. I've never had that reaction or body acne since using a pH balanced cleanser. I started using pH balanced cleansers after your videos. Thank you soooo much Olena!♥️♥️♥️

    • @OlenaBeley

      Essences gave me fungal acne. I think my skin just doesn't do well with fermented ingredients. I don't put straight oil to my face but I do use "sioris time is running out mist". It has mostly fruit water and a small layer of oil and you shake it up before you mist it on your face. It's really helped me. I put it right before I put on moisturizer because moisturizer should be applied to damp skin. So yeah, in this case oil has helped me but it is a small amount and very light.

    I am just glad that she didn't say fragrance, cuz my leave on 2% BHA skincare product has fragrance lol I personally think Cetaphil's moisturizers and lotions are okay though, it's one of the few products that actually made my skin feel hydrated and moisturized a while ago and still is my go to products if I have access to them, but I agree that the gentle cleanser is really drying. I dunno why the gentle cleanser is so popular when there is literally the daily facial cleanser without sodium laurl sulfate.

    • @OlenaBeley

      I really don't believe in actives in moisturizers or Vichy as a brand for that matter, so up to you! Using SA 2% twice a day is way too much for healthy, resilient skin, but can even be too much 1x a day for some people. Please be careful.

    What about the oil cleansing method? Oil attracts oil and so it removes all makeup and sunscreen properly at the end of the day? If not cleansing oils do you suggest bioderma sebium micellar to remove makeup and sunscreen?

  • @MyLoVeLyMaN
    @MyLoVeLyMaN 5 лет назад +1

    Hi Olena, thanks for this video, very helpful. I've recently bought 2 products that you recommend and would like to ask you some questions.. Bioderma sensibio/hydrabio solution, do you rinse it with water or use a second cleanse after, like the gel ones? Paula's choice salicylic solution, I like it, it doesn't seem as drying as other products, but looks like I am getting some purging. Is it normal? I only use it at night. Thanks xx

    • @OlenaBeley
      @OlenaBeley  5 лет назад +4

      Yes you definitely rinse away the micelle solution, that's an important thing! You can use it as the only cleanse though, double cleansing is not necessary with that particular product as long as you're thorough with it. It comes down to preference -- what feels the best to you. Personally, I never double cleanse.
      Purging is totally normal, and I would actually start every other night because many people can't actually tolerate it 2x a day, but only think they can and then develop all kinds of irritation down the road. I like to start slowly and recommend this approach to everyone. The purge is different for everyone, and requires patience and love and it will pass and heal and reveal a beautiful improvement! :)

    I figured out the PH of apple cider vinegar. It’s about half a teaspoon diluted with half a litre of water to get a 5.5. Would that be ok?

    • @OlenaBeley
      @OlenaBeley  5 лет назад +1

      Lol but what's the point? You can get a properly formulated, buffered acid product that is tested for safety and is formulated at the right PH for exfoliation. A 5.5PH malic acid will likely not even exfoliate, because acids have their own best PHs for efficacy/safety.

    • @SamJones-11

      Olena Beley I guess I just have a fear of products lol. My skin is always best when I do absolutely nothing with it. It’s like it’s telling me to leave it alone. I was using the mixture just to keep the Malassezia down and it works quite well. I try to stay away from products because even the most gentle have preservatives which are designed to kill bacteria which might mess up the skin bacteria. Don’t know if that’s true but that’s my thinking anyway

    So I had a cystic pimple forming, one on my cheek, and two very small ones on my forehead, I had the bright idea to use hydrocortisone cream I found in the bathroom drawer. I used it like a facial man, I thought for sure it would clear up my skin like steroids, and ironically enough, it was a steroid cream! For my boyfriends asshole! And you know what happened? I broke out worse than I ever have in my life. Just goes to show that the more you obsess, where your energy goes, energy flows. And boooooyyyy did my skin give me a reason to say “hey, what am I so ungrateful for? My skin is awesome! And I am beautiful, pimple or not.

    • @OlenaBeley

      Dan Duffy if the citric acid is near the end of the ingredients lists it’s likely used as a stabilizer so it’s okay. Straight up lemon is not okay though. 😅
