100% agree with the Glintstone Kris being the best dagger. It’s basically like carrying a mini bazooka. Imagine being able to unleash the comet spell, with only 10 FP required to do so. That is absolutely nuts.
@@Echo_ohc3 if you're close enough to your opponent reduvia bloodblade can hit twice with one hit, while also not causing you to lose health, its definitely a great weapon.
Reduvia and glintstone Kris are both great options. Reduvia is a really good option for RL1 and it synergizes with ritual sword. The problem with glintstone Kris is that you can't chain cast the AOW, although that would probably be too OP
@@desantinotafrancesco2639 In the early game reduvia is better, but You can buff a lot the glinstone Kris, and when I say a lot is that I see people doing like 3k with the Ash of war, I think that is the most eficient weapon in terms damage/mana, I really don't know why it's in S and not in broken
Faith Int Arcane Miquella has weird lore implications at least for weapons in relation to her So my fun but retarded 40 faith int arc build might actiually have a place in the dlc But yeah The actual scalings in this game is a pain in the ass Fundemental incants are faith int But the golden order greatswords pure faith Staff of loss doesnt have arcane scaling Despite boosting blood sorceries Lightning scales off dex on a weapon But the gravelstone seal has no dex scaling Despite strength getting its own strength seal Wakizashi not having a crit modifier Shortsword not having a crit modifier Carian longsword being a actual warcrime in the scaling department Its like a quality+intelligence weapon With shitty letters in everything to “ballance” it Its a shame to cuz i can imagine ppl just choosing a magic longsword with carian greatsword Missing out on the absolute sexiest straight sword in this game

Been waiting for this video for a while. Finally a great Elden Ring weapons tier list that doesn't have Vyke's Spear at no.1. Looking at the end result I would have moved Regalia and Marais Executioner's Sword in S tier tho because the successive hits build with Winged Sword Insignia, Millicent's Prosthesis and Godskin Swaddling Cloth is still OP!
@@DeadLine1337 other than vykes spear being number 1, and maybe a couple other choices, I genuinely don't think its that bad, even this list isn't perfect, its all personal opinion at the end of the day, as any tier list is.
thing is you gotta compare it to the others in s tier and we both know neither of the spinsters hold a candle to anything in s aside from bandit's curved sword
Venomous Fang has become my favorite weapon in the game, extremely deadly with Bloodflame Blade and a Keen/Heavy Infusion with min Arcane + Faith. I'll try the Eochaid + Briar weapons next, they seem really fun.
I think blood infusion either high arcane and dex is best for Venomous fang. You can use both the white mask, kindred of rot exultation and Lord of blood exultation, so that when poison and blood proc, suddenly this weapon becomes absurdly strong.
I really like Lordworn's Greatsword for some reason. It's not flashy or anything but in like 5 minutes you can go grab the greatsword, buy impaling thrust, slap it on there, and start firing off a fairly quick, good range attack with 33 stance damage and follow it up with boosted crits. I'm not going to say it's S tier by any means but the level of power it gives you for as early as you can pick it up and as little investment as it requires to get online is honestly pretty wild.
You can get claymore just as early and it's far better. The only reason why you would use the Lord sworn over the claymore is for a cosplay build for the crusader in darkest dungeon.
One thing I really like about this game is they balanced the weapons (for the most part) around trade-offs so you feel like you can experiment and use weapons for aesthetic reasons and not feel like you're struggling the whole time. My 2 favourite weapons in the whole game are the Watchdog's Greatsword and the Golem Halberd. They absolutely slap and I don't care that I technically could be using something better in the same class lol Also Duelist Greataxe with blood infusion gets 156 bleed per hit at 40 arcane as an fyi- that bleeds most enemies in 2 hits and most bosses in 3-4 while also staggering them Good vid
Agreed with most of it but it doesnt make much sense to compare the ruins greatsword with the blasfemous blade. They only have similar skills, but the weapon class and builds are completely diferent. I can't even imagine a build that can run both swords as viable option, so i think it deserves that S tier you were gonna give it
I made a fresh STR/ INT character for the DLC (after doing FAITH/ DEX and Arcane), and I confirm that the Ruins Greatsword is MASSIVELY slept on. If you build for it, it is very comparable to the BB in terms of “it will beat the game for you”.
@@kode-man23 ruins scales with int and str which is arguably the worst combo in the game to invest in while str/arc is arguably the best combo. blasphemous heals on hit and does fire and scales with faith, ruins gs is trash compared to bb
Yeah, while the BB is objectively better, the Ruins GS is still broken and has different uses. For instance, since it is a pure strength weapon, you can use it for AoE trash clearing alongside a Lions Claw Giants crusher and the combo is possibly even stronger than the BB alone.
@@terrycruise-zd5twThe Ruins GS ash or war only scales with strength. It has a small int requirement to wield, but otherwise it is a pure strength weapon that gets an S in strength scaling.

I did a run with whips recently and they're actually very good. Solid damage, can stunlock most enemies, dual wield moveset bodies NPC invaders, great against stone enemies found in tunnels, surprisingly decent status, etc. Not the best weapon class but they're one of my favorite secondary options.
I hope the dlc adds some scrabs with unique ashes of war like waterfowl or something. Cuz they already got that for some weapons like the godskin peeler and Lorettas halbard thing
lol its bad, iron ball should be on the same tier as spiked ball, also guts greatsword being above any collosal weapon like giant crusher or even the colossal axes and the fact that guts gs is put on broken tier LOL!
@@terrycruise-zd5twGiven that the Star Fists completely outclass the Iron Balls, putting them in the same tier is moronic. IMO Celebrant’s Sickle definitely deserves to be higher than F tier. Even though the other Celebrant weapons suck the sickle has the second highest damage on keen infusion out of all the daggers only behind Wakizashi, so if you are powerstancing daggers on a keen build it’s a fantastic option, especially since it has longer range than the other daggers with great keen scaling, those being the Great Knife and Parrying Dagger.
Started using the star-fists after Malekith because of that video (used that bloodhound sword before), and they are so fun to use Removing the blood effect from it against Radagon, buffing the damage when making multiple attacks in a row made it sooo crazy op and Radagon was gone in not even close to a minute
Dang golden halberd in C tier. I love that thing honestly. It's super great against invaders who like to roll because of the running stab attack and it's not a terrible damage dealer either.
Helphen's Steeple gets more damage, both base, scaling, and from the skill. Also gets a lot more Frost buildup from the skill. What it doesn't get is ranged attacks.
This is mostly incorrect. On paper, Helphen's has higher damage. The frost buildup is not "a lot more." It's only 10 points higher when both are buffed, but Dark Moon still has 55 frost buildup without the buff, Helphen's has none. What you're not accounting for is that Dark Moon's beams aren't just "ranged attacks," they're completely independent hitboxes, that stack with the actual weapon's hits. That's why Dark Moon is outputting almost 1.5x Helphen's damage, status, and stance damage on its heavy attacks. You're getting the weapon and projectile hits. Dark Moon also gets buffed by Alexander's Shard, Godfrey's Icon, Rogier's set. And it does almost entirely magic damage, so it can use the magic scorpion charm for a further 12% boost. Helphen's doesn't get any of those buffs, and is more split damage, so it doesn't get the full 12% boost from the scorpion charm.
@@DoctorrDude wow, some stat stick looks prettier to someone than the other stat stick, it definitely should break the whole spine of the tier list of stat sticks in a video game
The vulgar militia shotel is pretty solid for magic infusions, it has lowish requirements and gets decent ar and with elemental damage the shield pierce becomes quite a bit more effective. Pest glaive also has low requirements and is very light, so again it can make sense on magic/flame/sacred.
The duelists great hammer gets 101 bleed on hit when bleed infused and yet maintains a pretty good strength scaling. I used it powerstanced in a jump attack build and killed mohg before his third phase.
Unless I'm mistaken, Celebrant's Sickle gets the bonus of piercing through shield, a la Shotel. This effect carries over into ashes of war, and it only weighs 1.5 units! Quite a good weapon to infuse and use ashes from, even if other daggers would be better to directly attack with!
Because the glintstone Kris exists there is zero reason to use any of the comet spells, it’s less than half the fp cost, does more damage depending on build and the projectile moves way faster
Impaling thrust is a perfect match for most greatswords. It deals the highest stance damage possible on them, and solves the lack of poking attacks (except claymore of course).
Royal greatsword is my favorite weapon, i really dont like the downsides of the AOW (52:27), but those are outweighed by two other issues that i think are bigger, no frost on the normal attacks, but ALSO somthing unmentionned, it has 18 DEX requirement! on a STR/INT weapon!!! that's the same req as the fricking MOONVEIL!
The bleed infused venomous fang is one of the most broken weapons in the game. You just stack the multi attack talismans with lord of blood + kindred of rot and the damage is absurd.
I'm actually using a frost infused Duelist Greataxe on my DLC character. Even tho it's classified as a colossal, the Duelist GA has a high motion value on its charged attack (like all axes do), which makes it perfect for war cry builds and also makes it a beast for applying status effects. I hit over 3000 damage in a single hit against Niall with a +18 while only meeting the base weapon requirements with no golden vow or fgms, and I even managed to apply frost to Borealis. It's certainly hard to use, but I think it deserves higher than D tier
19:53 Alternate perspective here, even one-handed the crystal sword on a STR/INT build achieves a higher AR than a magic Lordsworn's Straight Sword on a pure INT build, and the damage leaning in favor of physical is quite good for taking advantage of counter hits on its 1h pokes. Spinning Slash is pretty good for breaking stance in 1.10. It's the most damaging option in class for STR/INT and some of the best DPS for the build, it's not versatile on enough builds to justify A or S but I'd say B would be more fair.
If you compare straight swords to str int, then cold infusion is best. Lordsworn straightsword is crap. Broadsword is where it is at. With 60 int str, crystal sword only has 4% more damage, but Broadsword has 104 frost buildup, and an actual ash of war, like square off or cragblade, braggarts roar. These ashes of war will make the broadsword deal more damage with its moveset.
@@spongbobsquarepants3922 See Youwy's evaluation for why he rates Lordsworn's higher than Broadsword due to its better length/crit/moveset. Anyway, yes it's true that the AR gap closes as you exceed typical stat investment levels and approach 100+ stat points invested in damage stats. However, the AR gap is very wide at the 60 stat investment mark (for example 39 STR/41 INT), and there are other methods of frostbite available to the build (such as Zamor Ice Storm, which deals crazy damage besides). At which point the Crystal Sword is still handily winning on length and moveset (i.e. poking R2s). As you say it's nice to be able to swap out ashes, but Spinning Slash really is fine and the other benefits of the weapon are very significant -- and the AR difference on this build is even wider against the Lordsworn's. All this to say that it's absolutely not D-tier, haha. Not S-tier either but it's a solid B.
@@Impish1 I know that is why he rates lordsworn higher. I just disagree. The length is minimal, just get closer. Basically get good. Most attacks will not be crits, so broadsword deals more damage. If you really want big crit hits, just pull out the misericorde instead of relying on a straight sword for crits. The moveset difference is not important. It is not like it is a speed difference. Instead of using a thrust r2, you can use a thrust square off. It deals more damage, stance damage, easier to hit because you move towards the enemy. When you can actually use your ash of war, you do not need the moveset as much, other than r1 for small punishes. It is a 13% damage difference at the levels of str and int you are talking about. You emphasise moveset too much. I think that is because the ash of war on the crystal sword is bad, so you have to use the actual weapon. But if you can use square off, that becomes your r2. If you care about moveset so much, use longsword. Sure the ar difference widens, but rather that than no ash of war. Spinning slash really is not fine. It is fine on larger weapons, but not on a straight sword.
Don't forget that with the executioners greataxe, it has the highest crit damage in the game with fire affinity and an active fire buff on the actual axe from the ash of war because of its really high damage and crit rating. It even out damages that one French named Dagger
I think it’s a high B Tier, the fact that Madness doesn’t work well in PVE doesn’t even matter because everything around you can get melted by it for next to no FP in an easy to use and reliable unique Ash Of War attack. It does Fire damage which is awesome and keeps lots of enemies stunned, has good range (albeit not great for a Great Spear) and the weapon synergises very well with Faith Builds. Not the best for some bosses or big enemies though as mentioned in the video.

Idk if any straight sword is actually trash. This is especially true if they are infusable and can thus get square off. They can definitely be trash relative to other staright swords for sure , but relative to all melee weapons? I think they could only bottom out at D tier at worst.
Rotten Duelist Great Axe didn't get the poise nerf the other Duelist Great Axe recieved. Add Bleed and you get insane Rot and Bleed. On NG+7 4 charge strikes takes down all large trolls.
Gj you madman, kinda expected you to do it after dlc but im glad this is made so we can see how much the dlc will powercreep the base game Does this mean naginata is no longer on your top 10 best aow infusable weapons and is being overtook by raptor talons and bandit swords ?
From a PvP perspective, I'd generally say the Katar is better than every Fist besides the Star Fists (higher damage + innate bleed) because of the shared moveset it has with the Cipher Pata while still being infusable, which will primarily be Endure. It gets a 3 hit true combo of with the running paired heavy into the unpaired standing heavy to activate all the multihit buffs, and it's running paired light attacks come out really fast and make you step forward _really_ far, making them probably the best roll catching tools in the game that isn't an Ash of War, and they consistently stagger dealing a combined 162 Poise damage since both attacks hit at nearly the same time, which forces your opponenet to roll, which results in you roll catching them, which forces them to roll, which results in your roll catching them... you get the picture. And you can even use it as an offhand weapon that deals 135 Poise damage that can true combo off of any Level 2 Stagger, like from Greatswords, Curved Greatswords, Halberds, etc. This means that anyone who tries to monkey mash out of hitstun without Hyper Armor can get stagger hit into oblivion by alternating which weapon you swing with until they learn to respect your priority and roll away. And in the case of facing opponents with Hyper Armor, you can just two hand your Level 2 Stagger mainhand and obtain Hyper Armor yourself, then have a stat checking "duel." Or you can use Endure and trade with basically anything and win.
Considering the Blasphemous Blade has the same L2 of the Ruins Greatsword but better it should also be Collosal Sword. That thing is huge when Rykard holds it and when we get it it's merely a Greatsword. I do understand that it would be a nerf because it would have a much worse moveset but that's the point, it's way too OP. It would still be OP but a bit worse. Balancing it a bit.
I know it's a very unpopular opinion, but Helphin's Steeple is actually my favorite great sword. The buff is faster than Dark Moon, has a hit box, and I do believe the magic damage you get from it scales with your int stat, unlike the dragon halberd, which is flat lightning damage. In terms of optimization, it's objectively not as good as dark moon greatsword, but I still prefer it.
Nightrider Glaive and Gargoyle's Halberd are essentially the exact same weapon. They get essentially the exact same scaling, they have the same moveset and have, give or take, the same base damage. The only thing the Gargoyles's Halberd lacks is range, and that's enough to have one be at the top of S tier and the other in the middle of D. That is wild.
The only thing going for Gargoyle's is the heavy attacks are horizontal slashes to differentiate the move set a tiny bit.. The range difference is wild and gives a massive disadvantage when the two are compared to eachother.
Nightrider has way more range, and the range is one of the most important things in the game, allows you to hit things from a safe distance or hit them before they hit you, staggering them. EDIT: Nightrider also does more one handed heavy attack damage, whereas the only damage bonus the gargoyles has over it is a bit more stamina damage to block.
I never understood why the Giant Crusher was considered so good when it has less physical attack rating than the Prelates Inferno, while weighing more, and requiring 15 more STR. Giant Crusher +25 is STR: B at 1.29 scaling - Requires 60 STR Prelates Inferno +25 is STR: B at at 1.14 scaling PLUS DEX: E at 0.15 scaling - Requires 45 STR and 8 DEX
This will be fun, because in preparation for the DLC, I farmed my character to have 50 in all stats, except for str and dex, that are 60, so I can use every weapon I find in the DLC, and I just spent a few hours upgrading every weapon to atleast +18 or +6 for the rare ones, so I can test them in the haligtree knights at the western gate site of grace, it was fun, using weapons that I never really gave credit that turned out to be really good, specially because those knights have a balanced poise. So comparing my experience to this list will be interesting.
The GOAT Stars is how I beat Malenia the first time round. I was struggling cause she kept sidestepping my Blasphemous Blade, so I used GOAT Stars to stagger and poise break her. So good.
I love how terrible the celebrant weapons are given that they are easily the worst weapons to farm for. The Magma Blade, infamous for being annoying to farm, took like half of the amount of time that it took me to get the celebrant rib rake alone.
What is your reason for ranking slightly sub optimal weapons lower within their weapon class? I found that to be really strange, since infusable weapons of the same class generally perform very similarly. Early you rated dagger and parrying dagger very differently, despite their utility coming from ashes of war, and they both are optainable early, from roundtable grannies and patches. However these weapons should be rated, they should be in the same tier.
The dagger is more useful than the parrying dagger because it has lower requirements and gets 130 crit. The low requirements makes it very useful for ashes like golden vow
@@youwy Parrying dagger has pretty low requirements too, super low dex builds just cannot use it, which are gimmicks anyway. By your own criteria, misericorde is better for crits, and are you really rating dagger that high for the decent crit? Most strong weapons just want to use the stagger opportunity to keep attacking with the ash of war, or r2. The point is that these weapons are almost the exact same weapons, nd yet there is such a massive difference in tiering. That is why I take issue with your tiering criteria. You are not rating the weapons on their own merits, but whether there is a weapon that is flat out better. This means that a unique mediocre weapon can actually be rated higher than solid but outclassed weapon.
@@spongbobsquarepants3922 yeah that’s the criteria. If someone wants to use a weapon based on performance then why would they pick the option that is directly outclassed? I use that same thought process here. Being that most people play with the most useful weapons I might as well rank them as such. Also the dagger gets 10/10 requirements which basically every starting class can benefit. Golden vow is very useful and the dagger is the best tool to cast it. It’s not that deep. Also critical attack builds are very viable. Maybe with certain strength weapons no but almost every other build having a misericorde in the back pocket is beneficial.
@@youwy Every weapon competes with every other weapon. I would rather use the cane sword than any non somber dagger, because straightswords are just better. In reality, infusable weapons should pretty much rated the same as every other infusable weapon of that class, unless some of them have innate bleed, because then those weapons have extra value with occult. you rate weapons in your way, it will look like some weapons actually perform better than other weapons of different classes. That is the problem. Plenty of builds do not care for critical hits. Most ranged builds do not, because you have to run to the enemy, and that leads to less damage than just continuing to attack. Balls and star fist want to continue using r2, deaths poker wants to spam l1, bubble horn wants to continue to blow bubbles etc. It is not like the dagger is the only weapon you can use golden vow with. It just has slightly lower weight. You could just put the ash on your class' starting weapon, and needing slightly higher equip load. That cannot be worth more than 1 tier above other low weight weapons.
Hand of Malenia is easy S tier. I never have trouble landing hits on it. Just kills any boss to the point of trivializing it. If you are getting hit out of it, that's a skill issue. Just learn the boss moveset and learn when to use it at the right distance. It's been used in a no hit full clear NG+ run. Has many buffs you can stack with it to the point where it will do 15k+ damage on a lot of enemies.
Golden Order Greatsword just needs its animation of the ash of war sped up. The Wrath of Gold should be almost instantaneous and the the follow up should come out faster and have better tracking and give the sword lingering holy buff. Make it strong, it should be the go to faith weapon for holy damage.
Golden Order Greatsword is actually one of my favorite weapons in the game, though it definitely isn't one of the most powerful. I actually really like the way the skill works, since the initial explosion is very quick and pretty much guaranteed to hit (not to mention surprisingly good at crowd control and as a defensive measure), and against small foes and npcs it stuns them enough to grantee hitting with the wave, so it's kind of a true combo machine. (NPCs actually dodge the follow up, but always get hit by the wave since the whole skill is a 3 hit combo) The skill damage is also really good against anything not resistant to holy, so I find it surprisingly useful against any small foe and npc fight. That said, holy resistant bosses are a big issue for it, and the animation being long means that quicker ones are too, so I wouldn't consider it a good weapon against bosses in general (besides Death Birds, but there's plenty of other, admittedly less cool, tools for them) So if we were dividing this in weapons to use on bosses and on normal enemies, I'd actually have the Golden Order Greatsword in S for the normal ones, but low B or maybe even high C for bosses. So I mostly agree with your ranking on it overall, but I think it deserves getting this pointed out.
I think your view of the lightning buff skills is a little off. They all give flat buffs, which would disproportionately benefit faster weapon types, which is why Dragon Halberd has the highest damage buff. The buffs on Dragonscale Blade and Stormhawk Axe aren't worse, they're just toned back to account for the faster swings of those weapons. If Stormhawk Axe was doing an extra 160 lightning damage per swing, it would leave the Dragon Halberd in the dust, despite having the same buff.
Magma blades are overpower, game gets easy with both of those no matter if you spam the ash of war, jump attacks or just normal R1 attacks, the dps is always incredible.
I found on accident how actually good guts sword with lionclaw is, can't believe u mentioned it. Giga broken l2. Does insane dmg, closes gaps hard to miss u can ussualy follow up with r1 just so fun to use
Ayyy, the mad lad followed through before the DLC dropped. Hope this video does well for you. And (complimentary) shout-outs to Rusty for maybe prompting this.

saw a lot on the live chat about how rusty ranked vykes war spear at number 1. That was partially because he included pvp ability (also skill isn't bugged, just hard to hit. you have to know the correct place to hit it from)
@@spongbobsquarepants3922 yeah i don't know if Rusty was trolling or something. He ranked it way too high but i think Youwy ranked it a bit too low, even for pve. It's skill can get really decent fire damage if landed in the right spot
@@BillNyeTheSovietSpy I have not used it before so I cannot comment on it, but I should probably do so. Its advantage is that it is somber and you can get it just by killing church of inhibition vyke. You could do the whole game with it. Looking at its scaling, it is primarily dex for the physical damage and faith for fire damage. Dex Faith is not that powerful in general.
Dual Scavenger's Curved Swords should be better than Bandit's because they have innate Bleed. That means you can go Occult and have crazy damage and insane bleed buildup. And let's be honest here, bleed is the best option for curved swords because of there amazing move set.
For people who know the game well enough it is known that twinblades are absurdly absurd. I cannot call it underrated, unless people rate it as less than the best melee setup in the game.
Dragon greatclaw isn't bad per say, it's actually very good against dragons, it's just extremely disappointing that it gets the colossal moveset and is stuck with the most vanilla skill in the game It would be really cool, however unlikely, if some of the more disappointing weapons got reworked for the patch that will probably come alongside the DLC release

I think blood infusion either high arcane and dex is best for Venomous fang. You can use both the white mask, kindred of rot exultation and Lord of blood exultation, so that when poison and blood proc, suddenly this weapon becomes absurdly strong.
Oh sweet, I was just looking to change my build. Your video couldn’t have come at a better time thanks!
I'm not going to say it's S tier by any means but the level of power it gives you for as early as you can pick it up and as little investment as it requires to get online is honestly pretty wild.
its a dogshit weapon with dogshit scaling, idk what u are even saying
You can get claymore just as early and it's far better. The only reason why you would use the Lord sworn over the claymore is for a cosplay build for the crusader in darkest dungeon.

One thing I really like about this game is they balanced the weapons (for the most part) around trade-offs so you feel like you can experiment and use weapons for aesthetic reasons and not feel like you're struggling the whole time.
My 2 favourite weapons in the whole game are the Watchdog's Greatsword and the Golem Halberd. They absolutely slap and I don't care that I technically could be using something better in the same class lol
Also Duelist Greataxe with blood infusion gets 156 bleed per hit at 40 arcane as an fyi- that bleeds most enemies in 2 hits and most bosses in 3-4 while also staggering them

Started using the star-fists after Malekith because of that video (used that bloodhound sword before), and they are so fun to use
Removing the blood effect from it against Radagon, buffing the damage when making multiple attacks in a row made it sooo crazy op and Radagon was gone in not even close to a minute

Nahh, the way ur able to explain and give your opinion on every single weapon in 4 hours is actually crazy. Respect bro, good list💯
My favorite weapon, Marais Executioner, S tier. Nice!
Because the glintstone Kris exists there is zero reason to use any of the comet spells, it’s less than half the fp cost, does more damage depending on build and the projectile moves way faster
Comet Spells are more buffable, probably making them stronger and if you are already using a staff, you do not need to find somber stones and runes.
Comet spells can be chain casted, that's their advantage.
Impaling thrust is a perfect match for most greatswords. It deals the highest stance damage possible on them, and solves the lack of poking attacks (except claymore of course).
15:45 The weapon that I used to defeat mohg/mogh for the first time only using square off
Royal greatsword is my favorite weapon, i really dont like the downsides of the AOW (52:27), but those are outweighed by two other issues that i think are bigger, no frost on the normal attacks, but ALSO somthing unmentionned, it has 18 DEX requirement! on a STR/INT weapon!!! that's the same req as the fricking MOONVEIL!
bro sits right there and keep talking about Elden Ring weapons for 4 hours non-stop.... what a giga chad...
The bleed infused venomous fang is one of the most broken weapons in the game. You just stack the multi attack talismans with lord of blood + kindred of rot and the damage is absurd.
This guy is an elite nerd. And it’s brilliant.
It is fine on larger weapons, but not on a straight sword.
just beating the dlc ,revers of blood is my favorite and def deserves s tier
It was S once. Rivers Of Blood and Moonveil was Broken tier in the beginning.
Don't forget that with the executioners greataxe, it has the highest crit damage in the game with fire affinity and an active fire buff on the actual axe from the ash of war because of its really high damage and crit rating. It even out damages that one French named Dagger
Great Mace + Ash of War: Prayerful Strike = NG+1~7 now my best weapon and keep me a life

why is vyke spear so low? it doesent deserve S but at least A, if you have the right talismans it absolutely melts enemies
might be because madness doesn't really work on enemies..its good on pvp though
I think it’s a high B Tier, the fact that Madness doesn’t work well in PVE doesn’t even matter because everything around you can get melted by it for next to no FP in an easy to use and reliable unique Ash Of War attack. It does Fire damage which is awesome and keeps lots of enemies stunned, has good range (albeit not great for a Great Spear) and the weapon synergises very well with Faith Builds.

Idk if any straight sword is actually trash. This is especially true if they are infusable and can thus get square off. They can definitely be trash relative to other staright swords for sure , but relative to all melee weapons? I think they could only bottom out at D tier at worst.
As I mentioned. The tier is based on how useful a weapon is

Damn dropping this video right before patch 1.12 changed a lot of things
Gj you madman, kinda expected you to do it after dlc but im glad this is made so we can see how much the dlc will powercreep the base game
Does this mean naginata is no longer on your top 10 best aow infusable weapons and is being overtook by raptor talons and bandit swords ?
Inseparable swords is pretty good in the fact that it's highly effective against undead, so probably an A tier weapon for that reason alone.
Damn dude thanks for the 4 hour tier list. I watched my weapons type only, but still very good job. Thanks!
Ruins Greatsword also gets a special charged heavy that deals extra damage.
Thanks for always putting out such great content, appreciate the effort and dedication!
Cinqudae is actually really good with the proper setup, especially with a bestial build
I never understood why the Giant Crusher was considered so good when it has less physical attack rating than the Prelates Inferno, while weighing more, and requiring 15 more STR.
Giant Crusher +25 is STR: B at 1.29 scaling - Requires 60 STR
Prelates Inferno +25 is STR: B at at 1.14 scaling PLUS DEX: E at 0.15 scaling - Requires 45 STR and 8 DEX
I think with the updates with the game, and the dlc, we’ve been needing a updated tier list
So thank you!
Dragon halberd is the GOAT. It's great for both PVE and PVP. Probably one of the best all around Halberds
(NPCs actually dodge the follow up, but always get hit by the wave since the whole skill is a 3 hit combo)
The skill damage is also really good against anything not resistant to holy, so I find it surprisingly useful against any small foe and npc fight. That said, holy resistant bosses are a big issue for it, and the animation being long means that quicker ones are too, so I wouldn't consider it a good weapon against bosses in general (besides Death Birds, but there's plenty of other, admittedly less cool, tools for them)
So if we were dividing this in weapons to use on bosses and on normal enemies, I'd actually have the Golden Order Greatsword in S for the normal ones, but low B or maybe even high C for bosses. So I mostly agree with your ranking on it overall, but I think it deserves getting this pointed out.
Anyone here from Rusty's vid on this?
Need more mentions of how fire damage can reset frostbite.
Rusty's list is dumb..
@@aNsWeRkEy02 It does factor in PVP too, so the ranking's a bit different. Also he released a post saying that he should've put moghwyn spear first
I think your view of the lightning buff skills is a little off.
It's probably the 2nd most popular weapon in the whole game how is this news to you lol
Ayyy, the mad lad followed through before the DLC dropped. Hope this video does well for you.
And (complimentary) shout-outs to Rusty for maybe prompting this.
Thats hit, im going to do a Gargoyle Black's Weapon only playtrough
It’s crazy how I agree with 99% of your choices, probably because you actually test out all the weapons
I think that loretta's war sickle should have had the hability to cast sorceries as skill, she literaly uses it as a staff in battle.
I think this list is pretty top heavy. I'd only consider a few weapons really broken when they totally carry you without even using your brain. I'd personally shift like 3/4 of all these weapons down 1 tier
Hell yeah, this is the person i wanted to see rank all melee weapons 💯💯💯
I was using Flamberge and Sword of Milos together. It got me through the Main Game. Hope it works for the DLC as well 😂.
Bastard sword seems to be the best Option for eraly Str/Arc Bleed/Poison and and such also as dualweild with Marai to brake stances with jump-attack to remove all for-thought the Echoid dancing Blade ussuly needs.
Dual weilding blasphemous and the gold wave soul farm sword were my main build on ng. Smashed though the whole game no problem.
How is Wakizashi going in c tier? It deserves at least s tier due to the fact that you can use a katana with it and get that op l1 animation.
It gets the same animation as a regular powerstance katana
Katana l1 is kind of bad. Crouching l1 is where it is at for katanas.
It's a dagger.
With no crit multi.
Low damage.
And the slow and shitty movset of a katana.
I'd put it in d or trash tier tbh.
@@In-Nihilum It also cannot use unsheathe, so it sucks.
I run a cold Lance equipped with Ice Spear and Ordovis' Greatsword. Shit is hella savage together!
For the dlc I’d like new ashes of war and spells for frenzy flame, dragon incantations and other neglected categories. The Banished Knight’s fire breath aow would be nice.
ice spear scales off dexterity and intelligence. so keen infusion 80 dex performs just as well as 80 int magic infusion
watch the video by chrightt on weapon art damage youwy
edit: this is true for hoarfrost stomp as well
Keen scales better than magic and cold affinity, which is pretty weird.
I’m wondering if FS will follow suit and have the majority of the best weapons be from the DLC? It’s hard to imagine anything being better than the Blasphemous Blade, Dark Moon Greatsword and Mogh’s Spear, but I’ll be excited to try whatever they managed to concoct in these past two years.
With this video you have taken away 1/6th of a day of this agonizing wait. Thanks Youwy.
Hey Rusty! Thank god you changed your mind and is doing your weapons list again. That old list was a little silly 😅 keep it up my man
You know this isnt Rusty. Right...?
saw a lot on the live chat about how rusty ranked vykes war spear at number 1. That was partially because he included pvp ability (also skill isn't bugged, just hard to hit. you have to know the correct place to hit it from)
It is not even close to the best in PvP either. Just a random decent weapon, with no changeable ash of war in first.
I love the Claymore and the Nightrider Glaive 😊
Dual Scavenger's Curved Swords should be better than Bandit's because they have innate Bleed. That means you can go Occult and have crazy damage and insane bleed buildup. And let's be honest here, bleed is the best option for curved swords because of there amazing move set.
Uchigatana's niche is that its the best Katana for Strength which has some value
Based Youwy properly ranking the Gargoyle Twinblade. One of the most underrated weapons in the game
For people who know the game well enough it is known that twinblades are absurdly absurd. I cannot call it underrated, unless people rate it as less than the best melee setup in the game.
Dragon greatclaw isn't bad per say, it's actually very good against dragons, it's just extremely disappointing that it gets the colossal moveset and is stuck with the most vanilla skill in the game
It would be really cool, however unlikely, if some of the more disappointing weapons got reworked for the patch that will probably come alongside the DLC release
