Love the bike and love the “what’s in the box, in the box, what’s in the box today” reference. It brought back flash backs of my youth 😂

Going into my second year on a ‘15 street 750.
So far: Removed the front eyeliner / installed an led top/bot split led light, turn-raised the stock bar, and went for VO2 intake and dynojet power vision at about 7500 miles.
Before spring 2021/15K: hoping to do progressive front fork springs, bigger breaks / SS lines, sis bar, enduro handlebar / Speedo relocate, straight-pipe cat-delete on stock exhaust (little extra sound and flow), adjustable +1” suspension in the rear to help with leaning / scraping instead of doing rear controls... I might even attempt to convert a street rod 750a rear end - dealership said it was the same frame between the two and theoretically would work!
Once the important and safety bits are squared away, deff looking at a full 2-1 exhaust (🧐love your routing over the trans btw!), and eventually swap in the custom ‘fun’ stuff - grips, pegs, mirrors, comfy seat, etc.
My build is deff suited to being a stealthy city-slammer that can also perform at its edge on a twisty mountain. Here in AZ were blessed with such scenery, but it’s all 30m outside the city. The air cooled engine is a lifesaver in the city, as opposed to sitting on a burning air-cooled bike; but it definitely lacks in top speed, and is kind of sketchy on a busy highway with the stock suspension and breaks. Riding on the highway is basically running it almost wide open at 90-100mph in light traffic. It’s just not that fun after a few mins...
Figured, might as well build on its strengths and make something that absolutely rips from 0-100 and can lean and corner harder than almost all of Harley’s other offerings. They say this bike is Harley’s bastard child.... but I kind of like that😉

I just recently bought a 2015 Street 500 with only 666 miles on it, and I am looking to do a few mods myself as well. Thanks for the video and keep them coming. Greeting from Tennessee - USA

The seat mod imo makes one of the biggest improvments in looks to the 500. I hadn't considered the 500 as a bike, I was all about the V-Star or the Vulcan S but man I'm enjoying these 500s the more I look at them.

So far - fat rear tyre, drag bars and new grips, new mirrors, Tab muffler (had a screaming eagle on it which was crap) and have just ordered an LED headlight - so far $1,500 on modifications and it looks 100% better. Oh - I removed that horrible fairing as well.

Jack Griffin really simple relocation mate . Bracket bolts on behind coil cover . Speedo is just in with two bolts by memory “no need to pull wires out” . Just need to cut the cable ties to release some slack . Once you’ve moved it to the bracket you just need to re cable tie the wires and your done .

Love the bike! I agree with what you're saying about the hate from others saying, "Why build up a 500? Why waste all that splash on a 500..." blah blah..! Mate, I've found the biggest haters/wankers don't even have a bloody bike (or car - depending on whatever they're making noise about ffs)
I'm not sure what state you're in but are these bikes learner legal (I'm in Victoria) as I've gotta start my bike licence from the beginning again dammit... I left it way too long after getting my P's over 20+ years ago...
I'm figuring it might be alot less headache if I get a 500 to ride and wait for the full licence before throwing a leg over the V-ROD...
I'm really digging what you've done so far, I like the way you're going with it! I wonder if a built high comp motor with massive race cams (or a stealthy turbo set-up!!) would be viable...

Hello, I am looking for urgent help. To install the rear tire you made the modification? I'm installing a Michelin 170/80-15 Commander 2 tire and it's so tight that it hits the battery case. The mechanic tells me that there is no way to install that tire, it will damage the fender and the battery case. Before doing that I had looked for references in different places and look, they installed tires that big without problems. Now I am frustrated because I cannot ride my motorcycle, I will have to mount the original tires and I have already paid for the new tires, in addition to changing the suspension for an 11” Progressive 412 Heavy Duty American Can you please help me!
I want to continue with my project and not go back to the original wheels.

Please help. I can't use my motorcycle. I already removed the 11” shock absorbers so that it has more space but the tire is still very tight with the risk of hitting the battery casing. The mechanic tells me that the wheel cannot be moved further back because the belt could become so tight that it would break easily. I'm beginning to believe that you have no experience with this model and in my area there are no references of anyone else who has done this like you. I will thank you very much if you answer me, greetings.

Can I use the car to directly connect to the car to start a fire? Because the battery seems to be very low。

      I don’t think it’s a good idea you jump start a bike with a car .
Buy a trickle charger or new battery 👍

Really sorry to hear about your wife. Sending you guys prays.
The 500 is a great bike. I have one too. I’ve changed the exhaust, mirrors, breaks but I love your seat and that’s up next for mine I think. 👀🤩 those pipes!!! 💖 I want to keep my bike forever it’s a sexy piece of iron lol. It’s enough power for me and it’s super comfortable and easy to ride. I’m 5’4 small girl and can flat foot it no problem. It’s a heavy bike sure but it’s low and agile around the streets. I love it. Down side for me, I don’t like how I keep popping it into neutral shifting from 1-2. I did that about 3 times today. I was thinking about getting a gear indicator on it to help with that.

      @noobish2654 3 года назад +1

I had this problem too, but I learned a trick that made a world of difference. When you shift into second, hold your foot under the shifter until you let out the clutch. No more accidental neutrals

As far as the mirrors, I just bought some extentions to use with the stock mirrors. If I keep the bike, I want to switch to long stem mirrors and keep the extentions
