Any species where one sex invests more in child bearing, that sex becomes more selective and the opposite sex has to compete more for their affection. This is why male peacocks have evolved to have the beautiful tail feathers. It's all the result of sexual selection. If parental investment was equal in our species, both men and women would put in the same amount of effort in the courting phase.
@@emlovz it reminds me, I get annoyed and irritated whenever people say that women need to learn as well or that women need skills in order to get a date or get a boyfriend, attract men. It never made sense to me, I don't see how women need skills to attract a guy when women play a passive role

What do you recommend if bringing a woman back to your place isn't an option (say you live with an older parent)?
