I'm 25 years old and I was diagnosed with hogkins lymphoma when I was 20 and tested positive for the EBV virus at the time. I always had a weak immune system but that was explained later once I was diagnosed with Lupus at 22. I'm healthy and stable now, but gosh this is one weird and bizarre virus. Thank you sharing this information on youtube, I believe that more awareness of this virus should be promoted 💜
Yes, this virus definitely deserves more attention. In my case mononucleosis at age 13 and 10 years later beginning of multiple sclerosis. It can do a lot, if it won't be properly controlled by immune system

Hey so I have a question I want to see if someone can answer. My mom was diagnosed with ebv in 2015. I don't remember her having symptoms. I know I probably did drink from her I'm sure sometime. I never had mono nor have I been diagnosed with ebv. I also have never had the symptoms of ebv so is it possible I have it? If so should I watch out for my spit and blood? I'm washing my hands constantly and I'm always worried about infecting others. Should I be worried or not?
It's possible that you either didn't become infected, or had a asymptomatic infection.

often mononucleosis resolves within 2 weeks but the virus lays dormant in the cells. Does that mean the cells continue to replicate continuously and pass on the EBV virus to their progeny even when mononucleosis has resolved?

Yes, supposedly it lays dormant until a time of opportunity, such as when your immune system is down. This is why whenever you get sick, your Number one goal should be dealing with the sickness.

Wait but if a person is immunosuoressed doesn't that means they have lesser immune cells? I mean I get the latent cells will stay but they will still only replicate with B or T cells, so the number should be lesser!
