As I listen to this, I'm imagining an animated illuminated manuscript where the bards, the peasants, the troubadours, the knights, the kings' guards, the monks, the nobility and the king and queen are all doing their own dance showdown.
In my campaign, there was a festival involving a performance challenge in which the traveling bard troupe known as "Smashe Mouthe" competed, and almost won with "Al Starre". They did get chased off stage by a magical tiger summoned by one of the players who was mortally offended that I made her listen to it. I call that good session. Yes, I simply made up those spellings.
I just randomly found this video today and these songs are so wonderful! I can't wait to share this with my friends. I will say that I was NOT expecting The Final Countdown, that's my favorite song!!!! Great job with this rendition and thank you for doing the full song. 🙏🏻💜😄
There's certain sensibilities about what music should and should not be that's changed over time, most of these songs are more complicate than what would be in in the medieval period, but I agree that Final Countdown could have fit the aesthetic.
They could have played it but a medieval audience may not have been keen to hear it, it would not match their expectations of 'good' music so the reason medieval musicians wouldn't have played these songs even someone taught them how to play them is they want to be paid for doing their job.

Great background music for getting stuff done, as a new and fresh version to boot, since many of the originals are played so often I’m low-key sick of them.
