Oh yes. It had a harsher sound in person.

hmmmm... I have been hearing a (sometimes) quite loud hum on my xterra.... definitely not a rumble but a hum that increases with speed, though the pitch of the sound doesnt really change... maybe a wheel bearing? or alignment?

Could be. 🤷‍♂️ I guess depends on your tires and if they’ve been rotated properly and the style of your tires. Could be a wheel bearing. My fronts changed sound when I went around curves.

I did both left and right at the same time. 2006 xterra. My noise was more of a hiss/ticking and I could hear it echo while driving in the left lane next to the concrete median wall on the interstate. The noise was gone after the install, and the old bearings were very rough/ grinding when spun by hand.

I should have done both at the same time, but I was being cheap and only wanted to fix the problem side. Unfortunately, it was the driver side and I ended up replacing both. Not a bad deal for only $250. I had a little bit of that noise you were talking about as well. Heard it from the driver side. Should have figured that was the side all along, but it's okay b/c now they're both new and it's running better than ever. Thanks for sharing your experience!

did the other side do it? could easily be about 20 possible sources given the complexity of front suspension. i would think CV joint would be next on the list.

Replaced both front wheel bearings and it fixed the issue. I learned that when doing wheels bearings, do them in pairs. 👍

Are you still cutting your own hair? It looks a bit longer than in your haircut video a couple of years ago.

100%. I can't find the time to go and get it cut at my barbers anymore. That being said, sometimes it's hard to find time to cut it myself, so it may go longer than 2 weeks between cuts.
