  • In this video we see clips and photos of the track removal & platform demolition operation at Great Victoria Street.
GVS Closed on Friday 10th May 2024
As you can see towards the end of the video a section of the former track bed is now in use as a temporary bus way.
We travel along the bus way on board Metro Streetdeck 3126.
We also get a view of the new track layout from Westlink Junction & Grand Central Station.
Tampers DR73926 & 08N8 can be seen on the new track these calmed the title of forming the first train movements on the section of track
Most the platforms at GVS have been demolished apart from a small section under the Boyne Bridge and towards the former station concourse.
This section as well as the station building will be demolished at a later date.

They are just demolitioning the old station. Their work speed has no bearing whatso ever on the actual new station and track work.

one track remover and truck sat too far away.
one platform smasher and all the rubble just left there.
maybe need to look how the likes of Japan and China deal with their railway overhauls FAST and SAFE.
it takes too long to do anything in this country
