We're fortunate enough to have both Dutch Wonderland and Sesame Place close to us here in PA (both of which I feel like will be similar in the target demographic for this place). Unfortunately, I think most of my kids will be out of the target audience once this opens, so it will probably be a no (though if I had younger kids, I would certainly take them... especially if they built one in the Mid-Atlantic area.
Very interesting that there’ll be no dark rides here, I wonder if that will help to keep costs and upkeep low since this is such a new concept for them. I would definitely expect lots of themed flat rides and very themed play areas everywhere, plus hopefully some good character meet and greets.
Agreed, I always felt like a traditional dark ride is always an excellent anchor attraction that can be geared towards kids but still be fun for all audiences. Maybe there will be a dark ride in a future expansion, or in other locations
Dude that area is not even that big of an acre. Its in a community by an overpass and a bunch of residential area, they were definitely tripping when they thought this plan up. And the Mayor and city officials are just in it for the money.
I think this is a very underrated move by Universal Studios. Texas has a huge population, and now families in the Midwest have a significantly closer location main stream theme park to take their kids too. They will capitalize on that and slowly build the dark rides/coasters/thrill rides as popularity in this park grows, thus forcing the Disney parks to maybe do a bit more to maintain crowd interest at their Cali and Florida parks. I think the new Princess and the Frog ride at Disneyland will draw them back some interest, but Universal is absolutely making some major moves on Disney with this park, Epic Universe and the Vegas Halloween Horror Nights attraction
It doesn’t need to have any and based on this information doesn’t plan to. Teens and adults are not the target audience and doesn’t have to be for profitability. In fact it actually opens up a whole list of other issues that Frisco probably doesn’t want to deal with like increased crime. The park isn’t being built to cater to adults and teens. Younger demographics make up a huge bulk of attendance in major theme parks. They’re building this based on tried and true marketing and profitability statistics. Kids are where the money is at, because build it and their parents will take them.
I love the idea of this park. It allows Universal to expand their audience and age demographic, even if by a little bit. I think this park can be very solid, especially since it sounds theming is going to have to carry. Tho I definitely think the park could’ve used at least one to three dark rides. I’m either way looking forward to the park even if I’m no where near the target audience (I’m 17). Not everything needs to be thrilling and exciting even if that has been Universal’s thing for a while (I think Mario Kart and Secret Life of Pets are other great examples of this). So I’m glad to see them expanding their horizons.
Yeah I am surprised at no dark rides. What's up with all those big buildings then? Can't all be dining and shows. I think there will be some changes and a dark ride makes it in. I will be shocked it that sticks.
The rides are all designed for 4-10 yo kids so why would they spend 100 million on rides for that? That is how much dark rides cost these days. The whole idea of this park is to take kids away from the real parks. A genius idea IMO. Likely the tickets will be cheap, 97 acres is small.
@PercussionNow Dark rides do not need to be super elaborate like Spider Man or Forbidden Journey. They can be simple boat rides or track rides through set pieces with or without sophisticated animatronics. For example, over in the rumored Vamp Jurassic area... they build a dark ride that puts a family in Jeep and takes them through a prehistoric land with a little misadventure. You can build something like and make it expensive, but you can also make it simple for less.
@@LChatmanFL I agree that would be fun, but cheap. Most likely not. There are a litany of youtube videos making fun of some of the international resorts like signapore for how cheap their dark rides are and they were all in the 20 million range, I don’t think a tiny 90acre park for kids wants to commit 20 million per ride when park tickets will barely cost anything. Already just the plants and installations in camp jurassic in Orlando cost about 40 million in todays dollars and costs, it was 15 million back in the day. Another reference is Volcano bay which has no dark rides and is all slides cost around 600 million back in the day which is around 800million today with material costs. Comcasts budget is 1.2 billion a year for Las Vegas, Frisco, Epic Universe, Orlando, Hollywood. Do with that what you will.
@PercussionNow Well keep in mind the ride only has to appeal to grade schoolers. I have been to Legoland FL a number of times with my son, and they do a great job with their dark rides. I think FL is sitting on 150 acres. But anyway, if Comcast were to greenligt a dark ride for 20 mil I am sure it will be just fine. The cynics are the only ones that will complain, but they are not the target audience.
Very unique idea for as big a company as Universal, very unexpected! When I was a kid and went to Universal Studios for the first time, I didn’t get a lot out of it as a child who was super scared of coasters. As an adult now I don’t think I would make any special trips to go to this new park, but I think the idea of something catering to small children who aren’t toddlers is really nice. As a dinosaur loving kid who grew into a dinosaur loving adult I hope the Camp Cretaceous part is true, I would have loved something like that as a kid especially considering the JP section of Universal Studios might be a little intense for kids that age in the ride department.
If it actually does include the properties and lands that this video speculates, then I'd be willing to road trip my family to Texas from Florida to check it out. My kids would love it. There isn't much for kids that age to do at Universal or Islands of Adventure even though my wife and I love them.
@@seanbryan1739 Legoland has been great for kids for sure. We're definitely looking forward to Epic Universe opening with all those lands. It can't come soon enough.
@@letitgrow1846 true shit, lego land was the BOMB when i was a kid. I can see how a park like this as well as epic universe is gonna be really good for the younger audience
It seems that there are many commenters whose biggest complaint is that they aren't in the target demographic. Is this place for me? No. Do I think it will be good for Universal? Yes! Get those kids started young! Can you imagine them showing adds for this place before Dreamwork's movies? Little kids will go crazy! And you get them having good experiences with Universal in the 3-9 year age range and when they age out of here, Universal Orlando and Hollywood will be the logical next step (and it allows the "main" parks to continue to target the older demographic. And who knows, if this place is successful enough in Texas, maybe it encourages Universal to build a second park in he area catered towards an older audience.
It's funny that when I worked at Universal there were rumors of a DreamWorks park and then epic was announced and then a couple years later here we are l, but it's weird that they don't want any dark rides, wonder if that will change cause summers in Texas can be brutal
Well it’s a huge bummer that it’s almost entirely themed for kids aged 9 and younger, would be nice if they added at least one dark ride and one roller coaster themed for teens and adults! Also fireworks and expanded hours until 9 pm on weekends! Maybe for the expansion plan?
"No dark rides" man ngl im now expecting this park to be very disappointing. I have no issue with it being for very small kids, but "no dark rides" tells me they're investing in cheap thrills for kids, like what u can find in those Looney Tunes areas at Six Flags parks. Im pretty disappointed and dont have higj hopes.
this is a good idea. something for the smaller kids to do so that way they can still get a universal vacation so when older can go to the bigger parks where they will be tall enough for the big rides
@@candicraveingcloude2822 this it even has kids in the title and even said was for 3-9 year olds. Georges just wasn't paying attention i guess or didn't even watch the video and just commented
Wish Universal would theme the smaller parks to all age groups also. They wouldn’t need to go all out like the bigger parks but make sure there are things for every age group. The smaller parks are more for closer families, but I think they should work towards an older audience too. The age group is very young and could be boring for kids a bit older. The other parks are destinations for all from around the world, including every age. Not sure how well this will work for such a young crowd basically. Can’t wait for Epic to open it is going to be Epic (pun intended).
As much as I’d like to see small region parks themed around single properties (e.g. Lord of the Rings, Fast and the Furious, Legend of Zelda), I doubt it will happen.
Younger kids generate higher profits. It just is what it is. Adults and teens won’t consistently spend money to attend themed parks whereas parents will take younger kids on a regular basis plus on special events like birthdays. This new park will be a cash cow for Frisco.
I knew that adults and teenagers will be welcome to this new theme park. Sure the rides won't be extreme but it's still a nice to go to when the theme park is in operation. This is a good idea for them to build it because children who live in Frisco Texas can go to a Universal Studios Theme Park that is designed for them as their beginners in theme parks.
No dark rides is really weird to me. I feel like doing dark rides like the Secret Life of Pets ride at Hollywood at the park would be successful for a younger audience. So is it mostly going to be just shows, play grounds, and flat rides with a small coaster or something?
Very curious to see how this works out for them. I’m trying to picture disney (kiddie rides only) without the dark rides and I’m left with dumbo, tea cups, and barnstormer .. not exactly something I’d spend a ton of money on or travel for. That’s the great thing about Disney is kids can ride but adults have fun too and the dark rides are that perfect mix. This doesn’t seem like it’ll draw the adults or even just older kids in, which I’m not sure is the best idea. But hey, I hope they prove me wrong and it’s a success. I’ll stick to the Orlando-style parks though.
Kind of Surprised Super Nintendo World isn’t Part of it. As nintendo is one of the biggest kid’s properties Universal has access too (hopefully soon though) Thinking about it though its Good that Universal is branching off to other states. And it totally will be cool to see another park in texas based on a normal universal experience They should build something in illinois
I think it's cool that they are bringing universal studios to Texas, but if it's just for kids from 3 to 9. My son would be to old to go by the time it's finished. I would probably never go.
This park will not work. They need to change or widen the target group or it will eventually fail. All those abandoned theme parks yes this will be one eventually. They also need to change the location of the build with all the restrictions they are being given or they will not be able to offer halloween nights (even for kids). As a mother I think this could have been done better.
Thank you for this update. To me, a family park MEANS dark rides. I’m very disappointed to hear that. Especially since they could clone SLOP and the new moving walkway Minions attraction. Oh well.
This place is going to be a nightmare to visit if you know anything about the area. The highway that it's off of is constantly full of traffic, even without rush hour or a horrible theme park on it. There's a good chance that there's going to be enough push back from the community to get this blocked.
The traffic to this theme park during rush hour is on the opposite direction. From the new map, the only way can go to the park is through PGA parkway. If this theme park goes to Dallas, then your comments is correct.
I'm very surprised to hear that there won't be any dark rides, as I'm sure something like E.T. or Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash could be very popular in this kind of park. Nevertheless, I'm very excited for this project and will definitely be keeping my eye on it.
I'm a little confused by their choice of no dark rides. When I was a kid I absolutely loved Fantasyland at Disneyland, and that's basically the definition of 'kids ride' in my book. I hope it's not all flat rides; those made me very ill as a child.
@@clearglass6300 I mean, possibly. But blocking dark rides seems like a weird choice. They're low profile, low noise... of all the kinds of rides you can install, they're the least 'nuisance prone'.
I'd wager it's because of someone's "environmental" concerns, as they probably require too much air conditioning or some S. They were the most magical rides to me when I was a kid.
I think this is a very bad idea. I would rather see them focusing their budget on expanding Hollywood and Orlando properties instead of building a kiddie playground. The reason is that people outside of Texas will not visits it. A park of this size usually does not survive in the long run.
I’m curious what their definition of a Dark Ride is. Is the Secret Life of Pets ride considered a dark ride? It’s indoors and full of animatronics but it’s by no means dark inside. It’s really quite unique in that regard.
Universal Kids would makes sense. Universal Kids is the name of their TV channel. Started as PBS Kids, then Sprout, and then rebranded to Universal Kids a number of years back.
I think universal and Disney missed the mark. With Tx being so big and having so much un developed land they would clean up!! People now have to either side of the country put if they put 1 in tx more people would be able to go, hence them making more money
The thumbs down, it’s not about the article but the idea. This is a dumb idea for families. Most families have all the young and older kids mixed together. So the older ones won’t want to go or be bored. I’m not leaving my older child alone and taking the youngest to a park. When they made all the other parks, they included Kids part, in all those other parks.
Universal Kids Frisco is basically taking Kids Zone and making it a standalone regional park. Epic Universe is a modular theme park. The designs of each of those lands could be taken whole-cloth and built as a stand alone regional theme park. The isle of Berk in epic universe seems to have been designed with the same constraints as universal kids: no dark rides, no tall roller coasters, not for adults. Universal Hunts Vegas shows the universal also wants to do regional resorts geared towards adults. I’m expecting the Vegas hunt to reuse props from HHN so that it can be an inexpensive way to test the market. I think the plan is if Universal Kids Frisco and Universal Haunts Vegas is successful, we might see stand-alone Universal Monsters Park or Universal Wizarding World park as regional theme parks 15-20yrs down the line. Because Epic Universe is so modular I could see them shutting down a land shipping across the country to one of their regional locations while they the build the replacement in Orlando. Universal Kids Frisco is 30 acres. The land in epic universe are ~15 acres. If they decide to do an adult regional park they can fit two lands in a park the size of the kids park.
I believe that HTTYD could potentially be one of the expansion lands if this park becomes successful. Otherwise, it would take over Camp Cretaceous, as I feel that it’s only there because kids like dinosaurs, and adults like Jurassic Park, but neither care much about some Netflix series. It just seems like an odd IP to theme an entire land around. Disney themed a ride off a 1989 show, which actually was popular in its day, and only now recently was closed, (Gadget’s Go Coaster), but can you imagine an entire land based on Rescue Rangers? Also, Epic Universe is 750 acres, so I am not sure what you believe to be 15 acres, but Universal owns 97 acres of the Frisco property, which is bigger than DCA and smaller than DLR, so it’s still an impressive size. Also also, there currently is vast amounts of empty pasture land just north of there, so even if a decade from now, if they wanted to build a second park or something, they could. It’s also a 31 minute drive from DFW airport, or 45 minutes if you avoid the tolls.
@@UmmYeahOk each land in epic universe: Harry Potter, how to train your dragon, monsters, etc. is ~15 acres. About the size of Galaxy’s Edge in DLP. According to the proposal the Universal Kids Park is going to be about half the size of DCA with the bulk of the land going to parking, for now at least
@@genappithy thanks for the clarification. Epic is clearly going to be “epic,” so 15 acres for each land makes much more sense. While the initial phase is just 30 acres, I could see the two expansion lands bringing it to 50. And if it was necessary for a parking garage, they could bring that number to 60 or 70 acres. But I can’t imagine growing to that level without actually targeting families instead of just little kids. My daughter loved Wizarding World more as a 7yo when we went than as an a 9yo, but those rides are too intense IMO, other than the hippogriff. Universal would have to expand into other nonDreamworks IP if they wanted to do something like that though. They would also have to adhere to local agreements that was mentioned in the video. I am not sure if that land has officially been annexed by Frisco yet. Even if it has, the border wouldn’t be too far from there to build outside of the district if they no longer want to agree with their promised proposal.
I would love this in my area but i dont see myself planning a vacation for such a small park. But really happy for universal for innovating and not just changing old rides like Disney.
I am glad to see Universal branching into Texas. The rumors of Disney building in Texas have been running for years- now that the competition is stepping in first, will we see Disney announce a Texas park? I hope so! Texas needs more theme park love.
Yes, actually they rumored that in Van Alstyne Texas there would be a Disney theme park. However, now it’s the fastest growing city in Grayson County, and there’s at least five subdivisions building built. This might be a no sadly for the location 😢
I don't wanna bring politics and sorry that I did but you know how disney is when it comes to Conservatives and red states. Disney didn't want to film in Georgia because of their anti abortion bill and recently had beef with Ron DeSantis. I seriously doubt disney would want to go to Texas
I am very exciting that finally a theme park in Disneyland level come to Frisco after so many years's Disneyland-to-Frisco rumor widespread in DFW area.
Texas sorely needs some theme parks, so glad at least Universal wants to bring something on a smaller scale. If successful, I could see these popping up in other theme park starved states like Arizona.
I like that they are making a disneyland in texas but ages 3-9? no rollercoasters no dark rides, no fireworks, this is just a videos talking about what they are not gonna do
As someone who plans on eventually to go to all the parks in Orchards. Every Jurassic section and raiding them all the fact that there are Camp Cretaceous stuff in there means I'm probably going to eventually visit this plus it's an excuse to visit my relatives in Texas. I really hope and would be shocked if there wasn't a expansion that would add Outdoors Nintendo elements maybe something either from more Mario Pokemon for Kirby because that's kind of Nintendo's more kid-friendly stuff especially with things like Yoshi in the Mario universe.
With this being the “first of many” hotel/attractions projects coming from Universal I’m really hoping that will include something akin to Galactic Starcruiser using the Wizarding World IP. The lore is better suited to an immersive resort experience and I truly believe Universal could pull it off. With JK Rowling’s stringent rules regarding existing characters and locations I think Universal could really let loose with an Ilvermorny resort.
No dark rides and only catering to children sounds like a bad idea. I would think it would be best to cater to families because everyone can get behind that. Even people visiting without a family. Family entertainment can provide for a good experience for everyone. This is funny but kinda like the OG version of the show Bluey.
Seems like a non-waterpark answer to a Kalahari or Great Wolf Lodge. One of those resorts set up entirely to take a vacation for your little kids. Interesting idea from Universal
Yeah I think I won’t be going. Two reasons come to mind. One, no dark rides that’s a little disappointing. And also A lot of kids that size don’t wanna ride a lot of rides anyway. And this isn’t a theme park. This is more like an amusement park. But to each his own and for those who go I hope they have a great time but for me not my cup of tea. Great video and information as always. Thank you.
So many people including the media are misrepresenting what this park is. This is a small regional “attraction” similar to Sesame Place. It’s not for adults, it’s not for teens, it’s SMALL. This is one of the only creators that is accurately sharing what this “park” truly is. This is a not a Disney competitor lol.
Thanks! I try to cut through the noise whenever possible. I think it’s a neat idea, but it’s definitely not a nationwide travel destination, it’s for the locals. But what is exciting to me, is that there may be more in cities all around if it does well!
i think they should’ve gone with 1 or two dark rides, even if just simple and slow moving like the new yoshi and secret life of pets rides. i also really hope this takes some of the younger kids away from the orlando parks to help with crowding
Northern Frisco’s fields development is called “a city within a city” It seems very special and unique so that it should have something very different ( special & unique ) from Frisco, surrounding cities and all other Texas cities. News from Austin, Houston and other Texas cities mentioned about That Universal Studio theme park finally comes to Texas beyond California and Florida. It implies that Texas is a well-regard state and it is Texas’s pride because only Texas and already famous Las Vegas strip are considered by Universal Studio. Universal Studio theme parks and Disneyland theme parks are only available in Very few world class “who-is-who” cities so that it can make this “a city within a city” very special. On the other hand, This planned Frisco theme park focusing on Small kids Is unique among all world-wide Universal Studio theme parks and other Good brand theme parks. So, in my opinion, this Universal Studio small kids theme park is absolutely necessary to “a city within a city”.
Those are the world cities currently have either/both Disneyland or/and Universal Studio theme park: Paris, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong kong, Shanghai, China and Beijing, China, Orlando. You can see that most of them are world top 20 cities with high "culture" and high "image". Some of them are the soul of everything of their country. Some people feel that Singapore's theme park is too small; otherwise, it can improve this city's image even more.
Relatively low run costs combined with lots of food and beverage and you've got a financial hit. The question becomes, can they get enough repeat visitors .. like with a zoo or some comparable 'park'.
I know a lot of families who have annual passes to places like Legoland which offers special pricing for locals. That gets them to visit quite often, and while they’re there I’m sure they buy food and toys too!
I am just curious about the 'year around' aspect. It gets super cold in Texas over the winter. How will they have any water attractions open four to five months out of the year? Even Six Flags Texas is only open Spring to Fall.
TX is no joke. This is going to be really successful. But they’re capping their age target too low, especially with people having fewer kids. Minimum increase target to ages 18 and under
Pretty much solidified everything I said about it (as opposed to everything I guess about the big parks!!). Still up in the air is the name. I said before DreamWorks __________ is too limiting. Camp Cretaceous is technically Universal AND DreamWorks, but Jurassic Everything is definitely a Universal brand. Plus, I just can't see them ignoring the Minions. #1 kids movie of 2022! Biggest animated franchise. They aren't going to leave that much merch on the table! (There's a lot of mysteriously-empty space in the concept art, all right in the middle. Did they scrub out the biggest two lands so there could be some surprise in the future? Yeah, maybe the Minions not being here lends credence to the whole DreamWorks Park idea, but Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon aren't here either, and they're both bigger than Madagascar or Trolls.) Anyhow, I think Universal Kids is a good name. Not great, but it gets two important points across: 1) This is a Universal park. 2) These are Universal characters. 3) Don't expect scary stuff. That said, Universal KidZone is better.
I get the feeling “Universal Kids” is the branding for all small parks like this, and just like each of the Busch Gardens parks have their own theme, there could be a DreamWorks park here, maybe an Illumination park elsewhere, etc. So maybe like “Universal Kids Frisco: DreamWorlds” or something
Hopefully this is successful Enough for Universal to build a standalone Super Nintendo World some day, one with more Nintendo IPs beyond Mario, but where?
From stuff that's probably going to be leaving soon even though this was iterated back when it was announced the hole and particularly for epic universe is called Super Nintendo World and that while phase one has Mario characters they expect to expand to other popular IP and the decades go on. The rumored next expansions for a potential Phase 2 and phase 3 are Legend of Zelda and Splatoon respectively while having possible unique endeavors such as Metroid, Pokemon, Animal Crossing and stuff be unique to different theme parks depending on regional needs. Out of all the theme parks epic universe is probably going to have the most basically being a mini theme park I'm nothing but Nintendo properties because while Beijing is probably eventually going to get Super Nintendo World outside of the Mario stuff it's probably going to be much different due to them having to evaluate what the Chinese market actually likes is Nintendo expand their IP'sin the region.
Both young and old fans should deserve a standalone Super Nintendo World (Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong, F-Zero, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Kirby, Legend of Zelda, Luigi’s Mansion, Mario, Metroid, Pikmin, Pokémon, Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles, Yoshi)
@@markelcraig5042 first of all they wouldn't include Half of those franchises because the only one that Nintendo and universe are going to finance our actual Mega franchises that have absolute draw and appeal in like the multi millions of dollars. There's also multiple reasons why they're not going to make a standalone Nintendo World in the same way have Disney is never going to make a standalone Pixar World War Marvel world separate from the parks.
I'm not from Texas but I would be a little bummed about not having any rides for adults or dark rides. I guess maybe it's budget isn't so high for Universal though.
No dark rides, no coasters, no thrill rides. So, they're just making a permanent themed kiddie carnival then? I mean, okay, fine, I'm not the target audience, but why would people not living in that area bother to go there if there won't be any fun for older kids? Why wouldn't they just go to any of the other theme parks in the country that's made with both kids and adults in mind?
I'm wondering if this park does well could we see more smaller attractions around the country of similar size and style. Like for example they are only using half the acreage of the land they bought for the children's park could they build that area out to either include another small park oriented to adults/teens or perhaps could they build one off attractions like another permanent HHN attraction on the land or the heavily themed escape room style attraction like what they built in Orlando. Or perhaps even a chain of hotels around the country that are super themed to one specific IP for example Frisco could get a Harry Potter themed hotel, Vegas could get a Jurassic World/park themed hotel. I could see Universal maybe branching out an trying a strategy that leads to smaller attractions all over the country themed to just one IP then if you want to experience all the IPs in one place you have to visit one of the larger resorts
Today, one of my friends in Houston forward me a Houston news - “H.E.B.” came to Frisco last year and Universal Studio theme park come to Frisco this year!”. So, I no longer have to explain to them Frisco is a small town in DFW metro area and closer to Plano. ( Some friends don’t even know Plano.) This “Universal Studio theme park possibly come to Frisco” news has already brought Frisco to Texas state stage, U.S.A stage and world stage because even the other planned Universal Studio horror theme park is in World famous Las Vegas Strip. Doing this while the US birth rates are at an all time low and declining along with the the lowest amount of disposable income seems like a really stupid business strategy 😂.

You got Legoland and Mario Nintendo
Very interesting.... im looking forward to moving to the Frisco area... Better quality of life for me and my potential family
@georgesxel-gharib8782 it's for younger people. The ones like "studios" and epic universe are for older people.
@@graffiti.777 Target audience 3-9, so that checks out.
@@candicraveingcloude2822 this it even has kids in the title and even said was for 3-9 year olds. Georges just wasn't paying attention i guess or didn't even watch the video and just commented
@ChouhouinNeko yep. Little kids, not teens...
@@graffiti.777 dude I’m 17 and I think it sounds neat 😂
Expect traffic to suck. That area is congested as is currently.
I don't think this park will happen because in another video by WDW Central he said that there are many NIMBYs who oppose this
As an adult Disney/Universal parks fan with no children, and in driving distance to Frisco, this is very disappointing.
So do they want to flop?
No dark rides is really weird to me. I feel like doing dark rides like the Secret Life of Pets ride at Hollywood at the park would be successful for a younger audience. So is it mostly going to be just shows, play grounds, and flat rides with a small coaster or something?
This park looks and sounds cool. I just hope this park doesn’t skew to young to the point where adults will feel alienated.
Looks like it will unfortunately. But still neat
I’ll stick to the Orlando-style parks though.
a big name competitor to Sesame Place & LegoLand to capture that market seems like a no-brainer.
Kind of Surprised Super Nintendo World isn’t Part of it. As nintendo is one of the biggest kid’s properties Universal has access too (hopefully soon though)
Thinking about it though its Good that Universal is branching off to other states. And it totally will be cool to see another park in texas based on a normal universal experience
They should build something in illinois
I think it's cool that they are bringing universal studios to Texas, but if it's just for kids from 3 to 9. My son would be to old to go by the time it's finished. I would probably never go.
This park will not work. They need to change or widen the target group or it will eventually fail. All those abandoned theme parks yes this will be one eventually. They also need to change the location of the build with all the restrictions they are being given or they will not be able to offer halloween nights (even for kids). As a mother I think this could have been done better.
Dang was hoping for a full on universal park
so essentially, a legoland style kids park
No!!! Too much traffic.
I'm very surprised to hear that there won't be any dark rides, as I'm sure something like E.T. or Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash could be very popular in this kind of park. Nevertheless, I'm very excited for this project and will definitely be keeping my eye on it.
Im disappointed this will be mainly for kids, especially in Dallas, there is literally no attractions here except a tiny zoo in southern Dallas.
I don’t think this park is going to work. Dark rides are part of the theme park experience.
I'm a little confused by their choice of no dark rides. When I was a kid I absolutely loved Fantasyland at Disneyland, and that's basically the definition of 'kids ride' in my book. I hope it's not all flat rides; those made me very ill as a child.
My only disappointment for sure. Seems like a missed opportunity to have at least 1 family dark ride.
It’s a mistake to not have them.
I don’t think this was their choice. I think the city made all these restrictions
Love the music in this one! Thanks for all you do Alicia :)
Thank you, I had some fun selecting a few songs new to the channel just for this topic!
Some of the best Universal content on RUclips! Thanks!
Thanks!
I’m curious what their definition of a Dark Ride is. Is the Secret Life of Pets ride considered a dark ride? It’s indoors and full of animatronics but it’s by no means dark inside. It’s really quite unique in that regard.
That counts. I think dark rides in general are just indoor rides
Eh we don’t need that here. Keep it in cali.
Universal Kids would makes sense. Universal Kids is the name of their TV channel. Started as PBS Kids, then Sprout, and then rebranded to Universal Kids a number of years back.
I have a feeling that this new theme park at universal will be the world's first ever DreamWorks theme park! 😊😲
True, but be aware that Dreamland in Australia had a Dreamworks themed land.
@@UmmYeahOk as does Motiongate Dubai which has an entire indoor Dreamworks land, which I would probably compare this park most to
I think universal and Disney missed the mark. With Tx being so big and having so much un developed land they would clean up!! People now have to either side of the country put if they put 1 in tx more people would be able to go, hence them making more money
Since Kidzone at Universal Studios Florida closed they should name this park Kidzone
Wait they said the TARGET is 3:9, and I think changing old rides sometimes is good for parks cuz they can bring new things for ppl
As a dad, this park makes a ton of sense for me and my family. Looking forward to it
What's the point of a theme park with no dark rides, which are the main attractions for kids and families outside of flat rides?
Nah why only make kiddy rides when everything is big in TX. Slap sine huge Rollercoaster!
We don't have kids so I'd be interested in an adults only park. That would rock! 🎉
They must bring that in Dallas city, not frisco
@@sudhakarselkaI beg universal studios to do it
No teen/adult entertainment! So depressing. TX is such a drag.
I think that not having any social interactions w boys is the only feasible explanation as to how decentralized little miss priss is here
I am glad to see Universal branching into Texas. The rumors of Disney building in Texas have been running for years- now that the competition is stepping in first, will we see Disney announce a Texas park? I hope so! Texas needs more theme park love.
Nah
If they don’t, Universal will inevitably win the theme park long game.
I am very exciting that finally a theme park in Disneyland level come to Frisco after so many years's Disneyland-to-Frisco rumor
widespread in DFW area.
Texas sorely needs some theme parks, so glad at least Universal wants to bring something on a smaller scale. If successful, I could see these popping up in other theme park starved states like Arizona.
@@coherentpanda7115 I wouldn't necessarily call Arizona starved. They have LA/Anaheim right next door.
@@ADJenks Anaheim to Phoenix is about 6 hours by car. Not exactly a day or even weekend trip worthy.
If you have kids this is for you between 3-9 yrs old … if not just keep looking for entertainment . When she said no dark rides I was out 🤣
I live near here and I haven’t heard of any one being excited about this. We are so overcrowded already. Everyone wishes it was farther north.
I like that they are making a disneyland in texas but ages 3-9? no rollercoasters no dark rides, no fireworks, this is just a videos talking about what they are not gonna do
No dark rides........................... No fireworks.................................
Guarantee that not many will show at all. Seeing its targeted for little kids
Not fan of the kid friendly idea, what would be for adults ???
Universal should a regular park companion in texas to this kids park,
As someone who plans on eventually to go to all the parks in Orchards.
That’s extremely disappointing I was hoping it would be a regular universal park
Just wondering how you can invest or be a vendor inside the theme park if possible? :) Thank you for the info!
Wow, first of many of the kind. Universal is really being aggressive, hopefully their investments make Disney get innovative.
not as exciting now bc there won't be any dark rides and tall roller coasters :( it's not worth putting there
With this being the “first of many” hotel/attractions projects coming from Universal I’m really hoping that will include something akin to Galactic Starcruiser using the Wizarding World IP.
Went from excited to sad in 2 minutes. Why just little kids?
There is a guy called WdwCentral he also went into more detail on this project
Yeah I think I won’t be going. Two reasons come to mind. One, no dark rides that’s a little disappointing. And also A lot of kids that size don’t wanna ride a lot of rides anyway. And this isn’t a theme park. This is more like an amusement park. But to each his own and for those who go I hope they have a great time but for me not my cup of tea. Great video and information as always. Thank you.
This park means that families wouldn’t be able to grow with the park and enjoy rides as the kids grow older. Ages 3-9 is a very limited audience.
This is why I used Sesame Place as a similar example, as that’s also a park that is only meant to appeal to small children.
I had lost all hope, no dark rides too now 😢
So many people including the media are misrepresenting what this park is.
When will construction begin?
i think they should’ve gone with 1 or two dark rides, even if just simple and slow moving like the new yoshi and secret life of pets rides. i also really hope this takes some of the younger kids away from the orlando parks to help with crowding
No dark rides seems like a mistake. Even smaller level dark rides would be a good idea. So basically this is just a well themed Universal playground.
Got to hand it to Universal this is definitely a game changer. I don’t know if Disney will have an answer for this.
I might go there if theirs anything unique but when it opens I have no plans
Northern Frisco’s fields development is called “a city within a city”
It seems very special and unique so that it should have something very different
( special & unique ) from Frisco, surrounding cities and all other Texas cities.
News from Austin, Houston and other Texas cities mentioned about
That Universal Studio theme park finally comes to Texas beyond
California and Florida. It implies that Texas is a well-regard state and it is Texas’s
pride because only Texas and already famous Las Vegas strip are considered by
Universal Studio.
Universal Studio theme parks and Disneyland theme parks are only available in
Very few world class “who-is-who” cities so that it can make this “a city within a city”
very special. On the other hand, This planned Frisco theme park focusing on
Small kids Is unique among all world-wide Universal Studio theme parks and other
Good brand theme parks.
So, in my opinion, this Universal Studio small kids theme park is absolutely necessary
to “a city within a city”.
So much area wasted on parking.
Do they have their own power grid? They may need it.
Those are the world cities currently have either/both Disneyland or/and Universal Studio theme park:
Paris, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong kong, Shanghai, China and Beijing, China, Orlando.
You can see that most of them are world top 20 cities with high "culture" and high "image".
Some of them are the soul of everything of their country. Some people feel that Singapore's theme park is too small; otherwise,
it can improve this city's image even more.
Which is why I said “if” it was to be open year round. I’m not sure that has been confirmed yet.
So their targets are kids who dont have money
So what you're saying is that it's not gonna be any fun
You will try Universal Studios in Northern California.
Not great, but it gets two important points across:
1) This is a Universal park.
I'm wondering a few concepts for this new park will be debuting in the former Kids zone.
Frisco residents… our taxes are going up 😩😩😩😅😅😅
Target audience: 3 - 9? 🚫 No one wants to go to Sesame Place or LEGOLAND!
I'm not from Texas but I would be a little bummed about not having any rides for adults or dark rides. I guess maybe it's budget isn't so high for Universal though.
So these are gonna be the new six flags. Pretty cool wish they did some small parks with bigger rides but that's alright
Today, one of my friends in Houston forward me a Houston news - “H.E.B.” came to Frisco last
year and Universal Studio theme park come to Frisco this year!”. So, I no longer have to
explain to them Frisco is a small town in DFW metro area and closer to Plano. ( Some friends
don’t even know Plano.)
This “Universal Studio theme park possibly come to Frisco” news has already brought Frisco to
Texas state stage, U.S.A stage and world stage because even the other planned Universal
Studio horror theme park is in World famous Las Vegas Strip. Every city having Universal
Studio theme park Is in world stage except Frisco!
Doing this while the US birth rates are at an all time low and declining along with the the lowest amount of disposable income seems like a really stupid business strategy 😂.
Too small ! My farm is 100 acres. That plan park fun is too way small. Don't waste time.
Ngl I’m a little disappointed now. I know it’s aimed at families. But still, not even including an dark ride kinda sucks
IM excited about it but i dont have kids so i feel disappointed, no dark rides or anything for Adults to do it seems. I planed on getting a season Pass but now im not sure
