    My labs nearly 2 years old and is still biting us! He starts barking and jumping at us whilst biting making him seem aggressive he does really hurt when he bites but has never broke the skin! I have tried walking away turning my back to him but he lunges at me and continues to bite me from behind as I try to walk away! When I lock him out he barks and barks and then still continues to do it when he’s let back in! What is the best thing for me to do please?

  • @ash345a88

    does this work when they are just mouthy as well? My 10 month old lab is very mouthy. He likes to put everything in his mouth (my arm, his toys, the kids, the cats). We correct each time, but he seems to still do it (especially when he is excited) Do you have any suggestions for jumping? again, when he is excited (hasn't seen us in even 5 min), he JUMPS from excitement.

    TY for sharing but I would of liked more info on ADULT dogs, I have a rescued Labrador.We were told she was barely fed, any other problems were unknown. We took her in at 7mths, she's been with us over a yr now. within the yr she has bitten every one in the house hold breaking the skin. Most were food related. But once laying down next to my husband in a calm and loving moment she lashed and bit him drawing blood....WHY WE HAD NO IDEA...I don't trust her because she's too unpredictable...ANY IDEAS OR COMMENTS HELP!!!

    My 6 month-old lab puppy jumps up to me and bites whatever piece of me she can find. I tried to stand up straight and show that it's not acceptable, but she ignores that and keeps jumping and biting. She draws blood lots of the time. She's gets so excited to see me that I don't think she knows that she is being corrected. It's frustrating.

    My 8 month old black lab, Nala, likes to nip a lot when we get to playing but she doesn't nip hard when I don't have a sweatshirt on. She tries her hand more then I like tho. I do tell her no and that works for the moment but I need a long term plan.
    I got Nala when she was 6 months old btw and she had been trained with her previous owner, she even came with a choke collar.

  • @crywulf44
    @crywulf44 3 года назад +6

    Constructive criticism here.. Wasn't specific enough to labradors (maybe talk about how they're mouthier than other breeds because of what they were bred for, and how they remain puppyish) and then never showed any examples of it, so was boring because the clips were unrelated. Needs to actually show not just tell. Hope that helps, you've got a good idea with this channel!

    Super late response, but I use a similar process for foster kittens, especially solo kitties who don't have litter mates to teach boundaries. I doubt they see me as a leader, but interrupting the behavior then redirecting them is very helpful. Making a high pitched (but not loud) sound helps a lot, and sometimes hissing. My one foster fail was on his own from a very young age and he was very bitey. He's coming up on 3 now and no longer bites (us anyways, can't say the same for his feline brothers when they're roughhousing).

I'm trying to do as much research as possible to see if this behavior is fixable I also dont know what her previous owners were like hopefully they werent abusing her.

      Would be so much easier if you could just use an app to make your dog listen right? Then you wouldnt need to be bored listening to stupid details about WHY its happening. You have a professional dog behaviorist explaining things to you for free, that you searched for and the best you can do is bitch about 4 wasted minutes. Good luck training a puppy that probably has more patience than you.
