Hello Chris,
The proper way to having gola is to turn it horizontal, suck on the ice, and slurp the juice. Then dip it into the juice to replenish it. See how the guy on the bike is doing it, the one who told you about the flavors in the beginning. That's how we do it in India.
Do not bite on the ice. As you suck and slurp, the gola will reduce in size to a point where it will drop into the cup. Then you can drink it like a juice (like you said 2-in-1).
Also, the two famous beaches in Mumbai for eating are Juhu Chowpatty and Girgaum Chowpatty. That's where you should have gone.

Bro , india has hundreds of beaches ,river , mountains , greenary ,desert etc , it's a tropical country , it's sad western media doesn't show that apart from desert areas of Rajasthan, visit goa coastal city good ,beaches , visit chennai , andaman n Nicobar Islands for crystal clear beaches n also Meghalaya.

You don't have to bargain for a taxi/auto in Mumbai- they are legally bound to run by the meter! (Unless it is an airport cab where you prepay a certain rate)

Chris, why don't you ask them to take you by meter? In Mumbai, even taxis go by meter. Rs. 250 is way too high for 4 kilometers.

@@Mk-wt7ip lol what? So you are saying he is paying monthly rent of 45000 for a vehicle that costs around 6 lac new and 4 lac second hand? I think you need to get your numbers right. And irrespective of that, meter rates are standard in Mumbai and made by the auto/taxi union guys onl, keeping all costs in consideration. Not going by meter in Mumbai is seen as cheating/scamming.
It’s okay, 3 dollars more doesn’t make any difference to them, I have paid 3000 Rupees for a 5 min taxi ride in a developed country

Chris, I am a new subscriber and I am amazed at the energy you have to explore India....its people and food. My country India is so diverse that it is isn't easy to explore so passionately. We are so scared to eat street food due to possible infections.
Since you have been to Chowpatty, I would suggest that you have gujarati lunch thali at Thacker's vegetarian Restaurant....it is hygienic, tasty and like home food. We Indians do not eat the kind of food available on the streets and restaurants and fine dining places at home. Home food is healthy, tasty and hygienic

In Mumbai the people are not saying price coz we only use meter. It’s not allowed to fix a price before. And the meter card is according to the meter reading which is determined by government. Travel in Mumbai on meter.

All taxis in Mumbai operate on meter that is started as soon as trip starts just as in any US city, never ask for a price beforehand

Never ask for prepaid rates in Mumbai, In Mumbai Taxis and Auto Rickshaws charge by the meter, just get inside and sit and make sure they turn the meter on.
chris! in mumbai we strictly run by the metre for public transportation like cabs (only black and yellow ones) and auto rickshaw/tuk-tuks! don’t ever ask the cabbies how much they will take you to your destination for because that gives them the opportunity to overcharge you by turning off their meter since you agreed to the price.
90% of cabs and autos WILL RUN by meter strictly, as it is the law. even when you asked the first cab driver how much for chowpatty, his friend told him ‘hey, there’s a camera he’s recording with’🤣 and soon after that cab driver pushed you onto his friend to take you hahaha as he realised he was being filmed trying to scam!
always insist on paying by meter and tell them it’s the law if they act cocky. welcome to mumbai, pal. a city of beautiful chaos
