He needs to learn how to relieve the pressure of holding the lead. Right now too easily broken early in second sets against top players. Still finding his rhythm as a professional but we’ll know for sure in 2 years what he’s capable of.
This is the first time I've seen this. We have all seen some 2 handed backhand players make a one handed for once in a match to reach a ball. But never something like that lol
I was afraid he Lehecka would take him out. I love zverev but also like lehecka since I watched him at the Australian open so it was hard for me to root for one.
Sad state of current tennis when Zverev's level is considered one of the best. Compare his 'top level' to Stan, Djoko, Murray, Fed, Nadal.. it is a pretty pathetic, all time low, level.
@@NeilusNihilus Half full or half full? It was clearly a golden age with the Big 3 + 4/5 of Murray/Stan (both of whom showed max level as good as the big 3 but briefly). Zverev however at his best, in form and on his best surface is probably unbeatable however even if that's a lot of BIG IF's !

Three wins over top 10 players. All in 2018, Zverev, Cilic, Dimitrov, who were all pretty good in 2018 (especially Zverev (Madrid + ATP finals champ) and Cilic (AO runner up and Queens champ). Congrats Malek, enjoy the next chapter!
Really hope Zverev can at least get to the final, he landed on the half of the draw that Novak isn't in so he has a somewhat realistic chance. Although I don't think Zverev will be ready to beat Novak for at least another 3-4 months, but Zverev's had plenty of success in best of 3 against him before, including a Masters final (Rome 2017) and ATP finals championship match in 2018! Jaziri: He seems to me a different tennis player. In this highlights he has usually hit his backand with one hand but at one point he hit it twice with two hands. Also, he's got an amusing belly for a competitive tennis player. Also very nice handshake from Jaziri at the net.
zverev and lehechka played such a good match man. lehechka is definitely top 10 material and zverev is recovering so well and only had 2 double faults... he's gonna be dangerous

It’s quite amusing to see a guy who is clearly out of shape, ranked 444. and with such an old school style and technique playing at an ATP 500 event in 2023. He never had a chance to win a set against anyone in the field. But I guess even winning two games is a nice way of saying goodbye. May he have a good life after tennis.
@Rafa undisputed Goat You're angry now, so you're talking like that, Novak was the biggest favorite at AO, but it doesn't mean that he had to win it, the dice need to line up, the same applies to Rafa, no one is invincible, of course, not even Novak, first let Rafa recover and then we will see.
Rublev has a BIG game and if he played with passion and determination he can be a tricky opponent for anyone! The only part of the game that needs maturity is his mental game. He gets frustrated easily, he doesn’t plan his game well, and often loses the steam. If he can strengthen that aspect then he can continue to be in the TOP league.
If Rublev will play with this passion and determination, I will truly be his biggest fan.
He reminds me of Ferrer
Hasn't he always played with passion and determination, though?
