Jason Read - Guitar Lessons Great! I get my pocket money on Saturdays so we can hang out together in town and go round the music shops and drink cider down the park and that!! Awesome :-)
The original track would have been some sort of strat into a compressor into a Roland Jazz Chorus amp. With a "normal" amp, you'd just need to add a chorus pedal into the chain.
This sounds right but isn't the way the guitarist played it, at least live. He plays it with the B note on the high E string with his index finger at the 9th fret, ring finger on B string 11th fret, middle finger on G string 11th fret, then does hammer-ons on the B string with his pinkie finger. Same effect but you get that high B note as well, and doesn't require you to move your hand as much.
It's in F# or Gb depending on how you notate it, they sound the same just involve different key signatures. The run from the minor goes from the relative minor (D#m) to the V chord (C#) to the IV chord (B)
@@mindcontrol67 could you be like, less rude with your comments? I mean yeah we get it you're some sort of musical god or whatever and you know everything involved to guitar playing and amp settings, but my man here just didn't know a simple thing and asked in order to know how to do it. There is nothing wrong with that and more importantly, there is no need to make him look like he is stupid. Idk man some people just think they're better than everyone else and treat others like if they were somehow 'inferior'. I guess you're one of those.
The older I get the more I really appreciate the guitar riffs on 80s pop songs
I wouldn't thought this song would be so much fun to play. Thanks for enlightening me! Great lesson.
Enjoy :)
It never would have even occurred to me to have the slightest desire to play this song, but you make it look fun as hell. Adding it to my list.
i always loved that riff. you taught it well!
Cheers :)
_Another_ song that makes me wanna to re-pick up a guitar and refresh my lazy totally amateur playing days!
I just bought a cheap 5 valve tube amp and generic alnico alnico v singlecoils basically just to play this song.
Something about that B sus2 at 4:05 combined with the chorus effect is fucking magical.
It's the C# note 🙂
Amigo, de Verdad Lo Felicito, Es uno de los Mejores Tutoriales, porque Tienes muy Claras Cada Notas. Imposible No Aprender con Ud. Gracias
Once again, I hear a song on the radio, decide to learn the riff..... and The Jase has it.
The exact way i learned was numbers and strings…i came for this lesson for my college performance class…stayed for the clearest lessons i ever saw
Same dude, I have to learn the same song for mine too
I'm hard rock / metal type of guy but have always loved this song. Thanks for the cool lesson...makes me appreciate the song all the more
You probably like Rebel Yell too. I do. Same year as well
Good lesson - particularly the marimba solo :)
a tab would be a great gift...
Thanks man. The song came on the radio today and I released how nice sounding the guitar is and had to learn it!

Thank you so much Jason. Much appreciated as always.. Sorties I get a bit lost. What is the fingering of the chord after C# ?, a bit slower Please.

What cap pick up you're using, bridge? Or bridge and middle?
I am learning this for the memes
Hey buddy, how did you create this sound? Only chorus and delay? I can't get this sound like this please help
amazing!!
what kind of pedals of your guitar do you use for that song
I suggest you use two pedals: a reverb (for ambiance) and optionally a chorus. Fun fact: by coincidence, my name is Humberto Jorge.
Nice Guitat.!
I need a new pal to hang out with who's better at guitar at me (not difficult) - can we be besties, Jason!
Of course!

On a more serious note, I don't think I'd be alone in wanting to see you cover an En Vogue number (or two).....
You're right, they had some great tunes.
Thanks, what kind of pedals are you using

Superb great stuff Jason!! Original guitar guy was Rick Difonzo.... all the best :)
Alex Guitarfan thanks for requesting it. I especially enjoyed having a go at the keyboard solo :)
Great idea Jason not so common to hear that kind of phrasing in a guitar solo! :-)
Thank you brilliant Jason.
You're welcome :)

Another great lesson, you’re fantastic. Why the #*% would anyone mark not like on this? Ridiculous
You can’t please everyone! :)
this is prob in eFlat? otherwise it's a pretty odd key.. and the music out there says its in the key Of G? Good job.
It's in F# or Gb depending on how you notate it, they sound the same just involve different key signatures. The run from the minor goes from the relative minor (D#m) to the V chord (C#) to the IV chord (B)

Sorry Brian. I have only just seen your question. It's a chorus effect. Thanks for asking.
