Thanks for the video. One tip for others; the pin grinding was not necessary. If you slide the door along about half way open there's a gap in the top of the track and the hinge assembly will lift straight out of the track at that point. Just get a milk crate and a block of wood to support the rear end of the door whilst it's off the track. Then you can remove from the nut and the cam from the hinge easily. Actually you remove the whole hinge and give it a good clean up and lube.
That strip of metal that fell out has a screw in the end that is accessible at the cargo door end of the rain guard. If you loosen this screw and the remove other three fasteners rain guard should be able to be removed without resorting to the heavy artillery. Its purpose is to lock the top of the rain guard against the seal when tightened.
Easy enough re remove the rain guard when you unscrew it from the outside and inside! It's held on by three screws, on found on the inside under the side cover, the other two are outside under the guard itself. No need to cut the paint lose and gentle tapping will get it off. That's how mine works at any rate.
Thanks for the Video. I would like to appeal you to PLEASE STOP SMOKING. It killed my dear Baby Sister. I smoked for years, so I know it's hard. But you can stop - if you want to.
We need more mechanic videos like this. Ole skool

JACK!!!!!!!!!!!! NICE VIDEO!!! I'm fixing the one on my 73 Bay now.
Love it. Cigarette in hand with a long ash on it, so he was paring more attention to the door and forgetting to smoke it.
Good video though.
