- After three weeks anxiously waiting for news of our car shipment to Canada, we finally got a secure arrival date for our #landrover #defender Albatross. Immediately we booked our tickets and embarked for Halifax, Nova Scotia. In this episode, we discover the town and get ready for the arrival of the car: paperwork, sim cards, planning our route for those first few weeks in Canada and above all, picking up Albatross at the port. We are thrilled to arrive on a new continent to continue the #worldtour. Excited to see new landscape, meet new people explore new horizons. This is the starting line for a long journey through the American continent we have dreamt about.
To enter Canada you need:
International health insurance covering the USA and Canada (Important), we use Chapka: www.chapkadire...

I love you guys! Authentic, raw and original. Currently studying your videos because we are planing to do a similar trip, but with a car and caravan + 3 year old :D
Omg! Such a cool plan. We find it amazing that parents with young children do this… it is such a gift for the child. You guys going to have the best time.
@@NextMeridianExpedition safe travels and best wishes from our family.

Welcome to Nova Scotia. Have fun!
Thank you!
So glad your landy arrived safe . Looking forward to seeing your next video . Canada is a very beautiful country have lived there as a kid ( B C ) I have enjoyed Canada every time I go there . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :):)🍻👍🏼
Ah sweet, you must still have some good memories from over there. We can’t wait to get out there!
There is an interesting goodwill story I would like to share from that explosion you talked about at Halifax harbor during WW1. After the explosion, hundreds of nurses and doctors from Boston volunteered their services and sailed into Halifax with plenty of medical and food supplies to take care of the victims, many of whom were burned from the fires. The explosion occurred around Christmas. Every Christmas since, Nova Scotia sends a Christmas tree to Boston as a gift of thanks. The tradition continues to this day even though the cost of trucking a tree has become quite expensive.
What a beautiful story! We didn’t know that, thanks for sharing 🙏 we’re very glad to know about that!
Welcome to Canada again! (We were parked beside you in the Blue van the other night) Hope you're enjoying Atlantic Canada and we're looking forward to following along with you adventures! If ever you need anything when you pass through the Montreal area don't hesitate to reach out!
Hi Christopher ! Thanks for writing ! That way we have a way to keep in contact. Thanks a lot again for the tips of last time and we are definitely loving these first days. Sure thing thanks ! Hope you have a good drive back.
Welcome to Canada! Bienvenue au Canada! 🇨🇦 Wish you a safe and fun adventure.
Thank you so much ! Merci beaucoup ! We are very excited with everything that there is to discover here 😁🛶🐋🏔
@@NextMeridianExpedition If you get a chance, definitely travel to Prince Edward Island to go to the Cavendish area where there is a beach, Green Gables Heritage Place and lobster supper. Seafood and the scenery are fantastic in PEI.
Moncton, NB has the bay of Funny at Hopewell Rocks which has the world's highest tide and low tide height difference. Don't miss that as well.
Good luck🎉
thank you so much!
Greeting from Vancouver! Hope we could meet in Vancouver, enjoy your trip and drive safe!
Yes we’ll come by and Thank you!
Congratulations!
Welcome to Canada!

Thanks Alex for the wishes and encouragements ! We are super excited with this new continent to explore !
Cool channel I built a XJ for my adventures strictly USA , Colorado San Juans are epic
Nice! That must be really fun to travel in
Just came across your content. I'm in Halifax and love to see a new perspective on others traveling in my province. think take a lot of it for granted.
Not sure where you are now as I haven't gotten that far in the series. I hope you enjoy all of what Canada has to offer.
We are now in the Rockies, what else did we miss a part from Meat Cove? :)
Yes congratulations on making the crossing. Very valuable insurance information thank you and we look forward to following your Canada travels. Bon chance!
Thanks for writing us and the kind wishes! Nick is also preparing a video with more details on the process in case you are interested. Looking forward discovering more of Canada !
Yes, the detail of your successful import and getting the vehicle insurance via Seguro is valuable. We hear so much more about the negative stories so you being winners is great to see. I’ll work out how to send you a ‘meal voucher’ so you can afford something better than mac n cheese. Ghastly!
Ahaha and that mac n cheese was horrible too 😂 now that we’re on the road it’s much better.
Yeah roro went sooo smoothly!
Owsome. 👍🏻
What was the cost to ship.
Cheers to bolth of you.🍷&🍺
Catching up closer to current videos, onto a new continent with you. Recently been enjoying "Overlanding Sophia" in this area / Cabot - they are also heading to Argentina. Bed time for me, but a few more episodes tomorrow. Enjoy your travels.
Thanks! We will check that channel up!
Welcome to the Americas 😉
@@NextMeridianExpedition they are British Vanlifers - and behind you. With your fast moving plans I doubt you will cross paths, but maybe. Your adventures, routes, priorities and plans are more like Tim & Kelsey of Dirt Sunrise - who you do follow I see, I did enjoy their Pan-Am journey. I do wonder if you can keep the pace you have set yourself and be done with the America's in a year - don't miss too much by rushing! And good to see your subs shooting up.
Une vidéo intéressante à visionner
Merci ! N’hesitez pas à nous dire si vous avez des questions 🙂
Hi Nick and Mathilde! It was great to meet you at the lodging in Halifax as you were packing up to head to Cape Breton! I look forward to following your journey across the Americas and beyond! :)
Hey Tim, was a pleasure meeting you as well! In Canada we feel so welcomed, everyone stops by for a chat. It’s so much fun.
All the best and take care.
…not a Belgian ship but a Norwegian ship leaving for Belgium… 😉. Thanks for your great videos.
尽管有点晚,但还是欢迎你们到加拿大🇨🇦!😊😊
Thank you!
Wow that was fast. You are here already. I'm from Nova Scotia but live in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island now. Drop a line if you come through and let me know if you have any issues in Atlantic Canada.
Hey Fabulous Off Road Designs ! Thanks very much for your wishes and the invitation. We are thrilled to be finally in Canada 🇨🇦 so many things to discover. Unfortunately we will not stop in Prince Edward Island. The country is so big we had to do a few choices. It was definitly on our list before we got to understand the reality of distances in this country haha. But maybe one day one the road we will meet ! Take care !
Hello nice video,!!! l will love to bring a car from Europe and l will love to know how much you pay for that and if you did RO-RO or you use a container ... thanks !!!
Hi; we made a separate video where we explain the shipping and you’ll get all the answers. we did RORO
Did you lock everything inside the car? we are starting the next year also shipping to Halifax from Hamburg.Did you ship with Ricardo?
Hey 👋
Yes we shipped with Ricardo. We made a separate video about the shipping which could answer some of your questions. We didn’t lock the cupboards inside but instead tmr e try points to the back of the car.
