Tutorials like these make you the You Tube Sensation your son mentioned on TV. Will give this one a try with old white bedlinen fabric and coloured scrabs.
Thank you for your ez instructions. You are such a good teacher. I’ve watched SO many videos and just didn’t get it! Then watching yours and just with the first intro with these are your first leg, the lightbulb lighted up above my head, finally, lol thanks again.
LOVE this video and just listening to Jenny makes my morning GOOD! She is so fun & it is GOOD for ME to just 'share' with her. Her comments about "legs" is downright FUN! THANK YOU for a fun morning AND a nice, fun star that we don't have to be so perfect! Jenny makes MY lonely mornings so much better.
Just really appreciate you sharing your tips. Freely sharing knowledge that is such a blessing to me. Your tutorials, of which, the tips have been great, have really made me such a more precision quilter- not that I am great, but my points and corners are so much better. People have always liked my quilts, mistakes and all- even though most were tied and not "quilted" save by hand. I now feel like I am not just winging it when I make one. Thanks
I'm making this quilt now. Wonky Star center has been perfect for fussy cutting an old west novelty yardage I found. It's directional but the "legs" or "points" have been just fine. My grandson loves the stars, they're just like him! The stars remind me of super hero exclamations from comic books, that will be next for another grandson! Thanks, again!
Oh boy, this is the next quilt on my list. I'm in the process of making 2 baby quilts, so I have to get them done PRONTO! LOL, I love this! Thank you so much. I love your tutorials and this is so easy! Love it.
Just finished a Christmas Wonky Star Quilt for my mom from scraps from a tree skirt I made her a few years ago. I LOVE it. Just wish I could share a picture on here
Jenny you are a peach! I love how excited you get bring us new patterns, etc. Your excitement gets me excited about the tutorial. You have helped me so much still being a newbie to quilting. Thanks I will try this one too.
I would put this in my "Free Spirit Quilt" category. I love a block that breaks from the traditional & has a "fudge" factor! (Love fudge, too!) Thanks, Jenny...again,
When I first saw this block, I said "Oh, no"....I can't do that.... But, I can! Natalie has done it again..... I can see this fine in beautiful Christmas fabrics.
Just looking for inspiration for a Quilt of Valor. I want to do a combination of Stars and this is a beautiful quilt. I absolutely love it. Tell Natalie I said it is gorgeous. I can't wait to try making some of the stars. I love the fabric, so I need to do the Quilt of Valor first before I can try one like Natalie's. Jenny you and your family are such an inspiration to all of us. I also love Misty's Facebook show too. I remember seeing her on the Caribbean Cruise (that was so much fun).
I am in process of making this quilt and I keep messing up ... ugh !!! my mind gets going one way ... and then I mess up on the next star !!! more fabric on the way in the mail to get it finished !!! I can't wait to get it done. It is really a quick quilt :) .... thanks Natalie for the fun idea !!!
What a fantastic tutorial. Thank you! I laugh so hard with it because I am terrified of measuring and matching so this is perfect for me! I just started a quilt using this tutorial. Thank you so much for sharing it!
What a GREAT tutorial, thank you! Won't this be great in holiday fabrics as a table runner? :-D Shucks, now I gave away my plan. lol ~Christina in Cleveland
Oh I adore this tutorial. Okay, true, I love all your tutorials. lol But wouldn't this be a great USA patriotic themed quilt... or batiks..... gotta go cut up some fabric and start sewing!!! Thank you!!!! ~ Christina in Cleveland
I might have to try this one too. I typically like things to be balanced, but this quilt is nice. I also really like the all-over quilting on the quilt. I assume it is computer guided? Where can I get the design? Please and thank you.
You're right Ellen... just another scary large print from Amy Butler (Tula Pink and Anna Maria Horner have some of those too)... I agree they're probably not ideal for borders, unless they're VERY wide.
Admiro seu trabalho e a facilidade que tem em ensinar, assisto todos seus videos. Nunca fui em nenhuma aula, aprendi tudo com você através dos vídeos. Obrigada e Parabéns!!!!!
Fun quilt! After I finish my square in a square quilt, this will be my next one! I think this block can also be used in the NASA Star quilt. Wouldn't that be fin?!
I love your tutorials & our quilt group has used some of you designs to make charity quilts. Just curious about what you do with all the quilts after making them for the tutorials. Do you sell them in one of your stores or are they donated?
I've got issues related to frugality and it really bothers me to see how wasteful this pattern is to make. I'm watching you scoot the waste off of the counter and have to wonder how big the pile would grow if you left it on the table. :(

Adorable and the wonky makes it really fun

What a great shortcut way to do a wonky star! Beautiful and fun quilt!
Patriotic fabrics? Yes! Winter snowflake and star fabric? That would look great!
Wow!! Great opportunity for creativity. Can't wait to use up some scraps!!!! Thanks again.

Jenny, you are a star by yourself. Great! Thank you very much.
love the way it looks and the idea every block is different! thank you everyone
Thank you Deb C!!!
Finally! I can make a fun crazy legs star because wonky is the new cool. Thanks so much. Love it :-)
Oh boy, this is the next quilt on my list. I'm in the process of making 2 baby quilts, so I have to get them done PRONTO! LOL, I love this! Thank you so much. I love your tutorials and this is so easy! Love it.
All of my quilts are a little wonky, lol, but finished is better than perfect! Thanks for this cute one.
Getting ready to try the Wonky Star with T-shirts for the center blocks. Fingers crossed!
It's been 3 years so I'm not sure you will get this but I was wondering how your Wonky Star with T-shirts for the center turned out?
You are the best Jenny ..your happiness and passion are contagious LOL
I will try to do it !!
Excellent tip about points. Love the Wonky Star pattern.
Brilliant Jenny! I love the way your iron pops up when you have finished with it. Not seen anything like it here in the UK. Not surprising!
I love it! It looks like the stars are twinkling!

Amazing! This would make a grand red/white/blue quilt of valor. Thanks for this great idea.

That was awesome!!!! I really wish you were here in Virginia!!!
Wow love it.. I am so excited to try it!@.. M/S/Q/C thank you for all your wonderful tips..
I love the Amy Butler material.
I might have to try this one too. I typically like things to be balanced, but this quilt is nice. I also really like the all-over quilting on the quilt. I assume it is computer guided? Where can I get the design? Please and thank you.
Love things wonky, but that border on the left is making my eyes cross. Good Demo as usual.
You're right Ellen... just another scary large print from Amy Butler (Tula Pink and Anna Maria Horner have some of those too)... I agree they're probably not ideal for borders, unless they're VERY wide.

This would look very cool as a Quilt of Valor, in patriotic colors!!
I like the print you used on that - is the layer cake available?
I also noticed the "wonky" border.
Fun quilt! After I finish my square in a square quilt, this will be my next one! I think this block can also be used in the NASA Star quilt. Wouldn't that be fin?!
Hi Carrie Cunningham! Did you make this one? We'd love to see it!
OK I simply MUST have that iron. What kind is it and where can I get one. Adorable quilt!
Outstanding!!
have done this for graduations in memory of my mom. Who like to say " Hitch your wagon to a Star"
I love your tutorials & our quilt group has used some of you designs to make charity quilts. Just curious about what you do with all the quilts after making them for the tutorials. Do you sell them in one of your stores or are they donated?
The irregularities make the stars look like they are "twinkling".. I like it and might have named it Twinkling Stars. Thanks.
Very cool
i just adore that iron. i want to have that as well. it is not available her pfff
Bit of a challenge but lovely
Luv the star but green fabric on green mat...hard to see.
I wonder what to do with lots of waste fabric?
it's like a maverick star
How to make borders in a quilt
Okay, little confused here, but it's just the beginning....
Good point! (about the points) (;
I've got issues related to frugality and it really bothers me to see how wasteful this pattern is to make. I'm watching you scoot the waste off of the counter and have to wonder how big the pile would grow if you left it on the table. :(
Janet, I understand, my first thought was to waste, but using the cut off pieces for the additional "legs" takes care of that for me. :-)
Very pretty Jenny but too much fabric waste for me.
Use your scraps! :D
