Thanks AMGmeister, did the service today. I don't have an extractor pump, so I used wire and bent hose as described , started siphon with syringe and with enough hose long to reach the ground in front of the car siphoned out 130 ml into measuring cup. Only tricky part is getting the fill plug back in. Make sure you have the rag under as described as it saved me from losing it !
I like the way you explain , everything is a straight forward and step by step. Great you mention all key details that some guys just forget to do /mention.
When I had my E55 and I did the oil change on the blower, if you stroke a strong magnet across the length of the ball allen tool, it will impart a charge into the tool temporarily so that the Allen plug sticks to it. Makes it much easier to get it out without dropping it. Also, I measured the amount of oil, including the stuff in the tube, that I drew out, that way I put exactly the same amount back in and didn’t risk overfilling.
Considering they have the highest end tools along with climate controlled shops. Better as in tutorial for DIYers but cmon man only AMG techs work on AMGs. You think those guys do more of a worse job than this dude? LOL 😂
Great video as usual from AMGmeister! The wire tip was a great idea. I've done it twice in 125,000 miles now for peace of mind. I'm at 203,000 (06 E55 AMG) I wrap 2 or 3 loops of teflon tape for good seal
Got my Mobil Jet Oil and parts lying around. Couldn't be bothered in changing it tho.. No excuses now after seeing your video. Great tutorial as always!
Thank you for producing this video. Based on your guidance, I was able to perform this over the weekend. I believe I saved a considerable amount of money doing this service myself. The hole project took only an hour. The biggest challenge was reinstalling the oil plug. After a few trys with different allen wrenches, I was successful. I recently purchased a PLM intercooler upgrade. I may do this project next weekend along with the upgraded pump.
These are good vids. I appreciate the concise instructions and lack of "fluff." They're straight to the point and we'll filmed Thank you, I've learned a lot after watching a few of these
Thanks for the info! I read this procedure on the forums and just bought genuine MB supercharger oil from FCP but now I'm going to use Mobil 1 jet oil II instead.
I used this video as a guide for my 02 SLK32amg. After 240,000 kms I couldn’t believe how dirty the supercharger oil was (and the smell!). However I used ACDelco 10-4041 Synthetic Supercharger Oil as many of the 32/srt guys use it instead.
Great video as always! I used this as an aid today and removed 190ml! of fluid. Never had it leak, but maybe I was just lucky. Thanks for the great video.
Another great video which i can apply to my C32!! Small tip regarding the teflon tape: It matters which way you roll the tape around the bolt. You wrap it in the same direction, the fastener is being tightened, otherwise the tape will unwind while fastening the bolt. Also starting to apply the tape on the second thread of the bolt, helps to screw in the bolt easier. Btw, what is that intro song you use?
UncleBenz Thanks. Yes, it matters which way you wind the tape. Mine just got a bit messy from the black tape that I was using to hold the bolt in the bit.
Very, very helpful and informative. Oh my goodness the smell of that Jet oil, though! I don't think I can get it out of my nose! Ha! Love this channel... keep it up
Yet another great video, thank you. As soon as the weather clears here in the NE I'll be doing this. Ran out of time last fall, already have all the required items....and am now at 63K miles. Does the old oil smell as badly as I've read? Keep up the great vids!!
Based on the picture of the cut-out, and provided that the car is level, would it not be right to say "fill until" it comes out? Usually most case contained oils are measured this way (gear box, transfer case, transaxle, etc.). Great content!
I did this job very quick and easy. Just make sure not to lose the little allen screw that comes out and make sure to try a few extra times to suck out any oil even when you think you've gotten it all!
I have been thinking of change for my E55. But Mercedes themselves (and a bunch of other mercedes unauthorized mechs) don't recommend to change the oil since it is sensitive mechanics in the supercharger. Now I am left with a split decision :-/
Well, Mercedes didn't recommend changing the transmission fluid when these cars were new and look how that turned out. With the supercharger oil, it is understandable that they would want you to be cautious, the right level is critical and you do not want to get any contaminants inside the supercharger. Nonetheless, no oil can last forever and fresh oil done right will keep the supercharger healthy for the long run.
AMGmeister true that I think the key trick is just the right amount. Since its sensitive. Just as you say no oil last forever. Well now I think I will buy a can to do that
Thank you, this is excellent!!! Quick random question.... when I bought my CLS55, there was a very noticeable and lovely supercharger ‘whine’, now, 50k miles later, I have almost no whine at all, any idea why that could be?
hello my friend, I am French and I have been riding an e55 for 2 years (thank you for your video). I need your help !! my compressor makes an unusual noise, from 1000rpm to 1800rpm it makes the same noise as a cold start ... you know the "turbine" noise ?? the noise comes back while driving from 1000rpm to 1800rpm. I ordered the mobil jet oil to see ... are you thinking of something else? thank you so much !
Yes sir, I have 2009model c200 kompresor, troble code p0045, its says supercharger boost control solenoid circuit A open, can you plz pin point to me where is it, really it gives me headache, after I erase the check engine the kompresor engage ,again the check engine come again, hope you have idea, tnx
@@vdgggame If never changed..... do it. I've heard of higher mileage cars having only a fraction of the required oil, changing it will only extend the life of the supercharger.
mine hadn't & it was low & filthy the 1st time I changed it. That was at 100,000 miles & I'm at over 200,000 now. I've done it twice. I could see people frying these things for sure if they never change it and abuse the car.
My E55 was parked on a steep incline, nose down. After 10 minutes of idling I started smelling supercharger oil. Opened the hood and saw that the supercharger pulley is contaminated with oil and sprayed some underneath the hood. Does anyone know if it can seep out through the so-called “breather hole” when car is nose down on an incline? If so, how many degrees of an incline for the oil to just start seeping out on its own?
AMGmeister No, I have not changed the oil before. The previous owner did, and he did it exactly the way you do it (He is a MB tech). Car has now 99k miles (I bought it at 75k miles). I have never parked the car facing down on such a steep incline before. So I am unsure if the leak I experienced is normal occurrence due to the breather hole, or I need to take my supercharger apart to replace a leaking seal. Do you know if at a certain angle oil would start dripping from the breather hole naturally? One would assume that a breather hole would allow that to happen..?
There is a breather hole on the pulley bolt that it can leak out of. For example, if it is overfilled, it will leak out. I can understand why it could leak out on a really steep incline although it might also be overfilled. How steep is the grade would you say? 30%?
was able to find some screw to put there but it was not a tight seal and leaked a little out. if at all possible, id take off the whole supercharger and do it. The dealer was like we have no part number nor do we have it on as a maintenance item.@@jeraldwelch2792

Awesome and precise
Mobil Jet II is on all the Cessna citation CJ1-CJ4

Did you Jack the car from the rear diff...if so did you place it under the cover that has fins? I don’t want to mess anything up.

Is Acdelco 10-4041 supercharger oil a good replacement also ?
If you fill up too much (up to the filler hole) how much do you need to extract to get back to 150ml fill level? -30ml, -50ml .....?
Why not fill the same amount you sucked out? Since you got 135ml out and filled 150ml isnt it overfilled now?
My car is around 160k I hadn’t change my supercharged oil does it effect on the performance? Or I keep it that way

Can I get one of those green Gates belts for c32 for stock pully ? Cuz I can’t find the green one :/.
What is the suspension setup on this w211?
What is the small sorta "U" shaped hose called at 2:02?? Cannot find pn for the life of me
M271 engine is ok?
There is a lot of controversy on this topic, can you confirm it is 150ml you put back because everyone has a different answer for that thanks
Also dont worry if some comes out . I overfilled mine by probably 5 ml and when i parked on hil a couple drops came out. Its normal
hey at 5:12 what is that attachment on the roller ratchet?
How lone have change supercharger oil?
I'm trading in a 2012 c250 for a 04 e55 AMG... Wife's mad as hell 🤣
I removed the bolt with the ball Allen and put it back with the ball Allen with no issues
