Fern thinks incredibly highly of Stark. That's why she gets so upset with Frieren for thinking he'd like getting a potion that dissolves clothing. She also tries to prevent him from being corrupted at dinner by telling him not to worry about what that potion was and telling Frieren to put it away.
Hope y’all enjoyed this episode! I’m still not over that scene of the hero party all smiling, especially Himmel and Eisen. Also I kind of fell in love with Stoltz and his 2 minutes of screen time wow
Love your Frieren reactions and how you pick up on all the details that make this a masterpiece, the art, the storytelling, the characters, the special moments they create... except near the end there at the climax of the episode when all you could think or talk about was Stoltz lol.
Thank you I try my best to notice as much as I can, I'm loving the storytelling so much and looool I'm so sorry his beauty really distracted meeee aahhhh
Fern uses a spell to see Stark nekked, mocks him for it. Fern sees Kraft working out, calls him a hentai. Fern sees Stark being strong and offering to help carry Frieren, calls him ecchi. Fern sees a potion to dissolve clothing, immediately pours it on Frieren. Seems to me every time Fern gets ... excited, she bonks someone else for it. Guilty conscience, methinks.
So recent thought... We first heard about the clothes dissolving potion in the arc where Frieren gets Fern a birthday gift. I'm wondering if Frieren had planned to give it to Fern for her birthday but didn't because Fern saw she had it and made it clear she found it distasteful. Somehow I doubt Frieren understands why Flamme suggested it as a good gift idea.
"These episodes go by so fast~i want to watch more~" hey at least until you catch up, you have the privilege keep binge watching itothers have to wait 168 hours until the next episode air and now we dun even have a date for S2
Since I first watched this episode I’ve always been worried about the hero sword. It will be pulled out ‘by the hero to drive off the great calamity bent on destroying the world’. That’s not to say that Himmel isn’t a hero who took down the the Demon King, but what if the great calamity is something different to the Demon King? Much worse, worse than the Demon King, and something Himmel wouldn’t have been able to defeat? Something we are yet to encounter? I wonder if the sword will reappear in the future when such a time occurs, and Stark is the hero to pull the sword
I was actually wondering the same thing while I was editing! It felt kind of foreboding, and that the real calamity hasn’t happened yet. So interesting and kind of scary haha
I think Himmel was more than worthy of the Hero Sword, my guess is that he just didn't need it because he was HIM, so the sword is actually waiting for someone that will actually need it to face a great calamity.
Given the nature of this whole story, the themes it addresses, and how it purposefully subverts our expectations I don't think the Hero Sword and its prophecy actually matter that much. This show isn't keen on setting up classic future plot devices, so that our protagonist (and the audience) can prepare themselves for great battles to come or evils yet to defeat. It's moreso giving us personal, palpable and relatable life lessons; telling us to appreciate what we have now and what we can manage to achieve if we set our minds to it. It's all about the journey, not the destination - the small things that make up the whole matter most. To me the tale of the Hero's Sword is an example of romanticization of reality and truth. Sure, the weapon might contain immense power and value - the monsters stayed away from it after all - but it's as important (maybe even less so than) the people themselves, who decide to do something with their lives. Like how Himmel had the sword's replica but didn't need the real thing to be the real deal. He was as much a fake hero and not needed as the Hero's Sword is real and needed. We are taught that Himmel was a true hero who made his own luck and story. No special weapon or prophecy was necessary to be extraordinary and make a difference. In that sense, and like Frieren explains as well, over time people will change the truth to fit their needs/wants. Especially when it comes to tales of legendary heroes and world-altering calamities.
"Now we're in the Bon Appétit region where they're gonna eat a lot of good food." Then smashcut to the end with the Hamburg steak a few minutes later. You got some good instincts there, Lindsay. 😂 Though it seems like you had dessert in mind whenever Stoltz was on screen. 😏
So a "fake" hero, a "corrupt" priest, a "cowardly" warrior, and a "disgraceful" mage saved the world.
I love them for that 🥹
Bruh you go to every fcken reaction video on this episode and write the same damn thing. We get it.

@@Pragabond Agreed, it's a great observation that adds a beautiful layer to the story. The more people that see it the better

The best romances are always where the characters are their own people first. In fiction and IRL.

so that's his name, for me he's just Stark brother.
Flamme apparently liked to have adult fun times. This is but the first of the related behaviors she taught Frieren.
So Himmel destroyed Demon king with cheap walmart replica sword 😂 like damn 💀
the flashback to himmel stark and heiter was so emotional - frieren was so happy this episode it was heartwarming. thank you for reacting to this.
Stoltz - probably Stolz - Pride
And yes, the town is the German word for appetite.

Eisen has such motivational and heartwarming lines.
Stark was trained by Eisen, but he has Himmels heart.
The way he goes around helping people like it's no big deal.

This is the second time you've seen Frieren's ring.
Please look forward to the next time you see the ring.
Thank you for sharing 😊.
Thank you for watching!
Girlie got distracted by Stoltz and didn't even hide it 😂 respect 🫡
Stoltz was so beautiful it was extremely distracting 😖

There's definitely something coming. The manga has more foreshadowing for this.

They killed Stoltz because he was too hot for us to handle 😔

Stoltz is still one of my fav characters and he was barely even in the story 🫣
I think Stark was just trying to be helpful

Yes I am!
